Great house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time with our group of nine (five adults and four kids). Gina was a great host and the house was very well stocked. Would love to come back in the summer when we can make use of the rest of the area! Thanks!

Beautiful Home, Excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Stone House Thanksgiving week with a multigenerational family party that ranged from 2-9 people. The house itself is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed for a group. Everything looked even better than the pictures. The kitchen is excellent in terms of accommodating a group cooking a big meal. We loved hanging out by the huge stone fireplace. The location could not be beat. The view of the Gunks from the house is stunning. The house is about 10 minutes to town; three of our party took the bus in from NYC to New Palz and the Terminal was a quick ride for pick up. New Palz is a cute town and the surrounding wilderness is spectacular. We hiked in Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park (spectacular!) as well as visiting Monhonk Mountain House, all easy drives. Virginia, the host was excellent in communicating and welcoming us. My only suggestions would be-include paper napkins in your grocery purchase ( we forgot) and if you have a large party upstairs and downstairs, noise does carry through the beautiful pine floorboards so the older generation found ear plugs helpful. We loved the nearby Mountain Brauhaus and Mexicali Blue restaurants and the Wallkill Farm View Market. Overall we had a magical stay!

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to host Raeanne and her family. Here for the Thanksgiving holiday filled with good cheer. They were communicative of their arrival time, guest count and conscientious of the house rules. I would welcome them back any time. I am so glad to hear you and your family enjoyed yourselves. We were all fortunate to have perfect weather for enjoying the outdoors too. I wish you had mentioned the paper napkins to me. I had some in the kitchen island cabinet and cloth napkins in dining room . If you are in need of those things in the future, just give me a ring. Sometimes I squirrel them away in places you might not look and generally have more supplies in the basement for back up. Appreciate the earplug note. Will have to load up on them. Cheers. Enjoy the holidays. Hope you will be back again to stay at the Stone House. Virginia Law Stone House Vacation Rentals

In town for a wedding

  • 5 of 5

My wife and older kids flew in for a special wedding and needed a place for a couple of days. The Stone house was very attractive and comfortable house with an excellent location. Gina was very responsive from my first inquiry to texting me when I left a pair of sneakers behind after our stay which we were able to arrange a pick up. Easily and comfortably accommodated 6 adults with a kitchen and views I wish I had in my own home. Beds comfortable with an overall A+ recommendation. Would definitely will return if opportunity arises. Maybe I just need to create that opportunity and stay longer. Left way too soon. Thanks for a great stay.
