This property was great,!
This was a great property. plenty of rooms, and a great location. Joe was great at answering my calls and attentive to questions. Very clean and tidy place, and comfty.
House was nice and cozy. Enjoyed my stay here. Thank you 😊
I got the sense of great hospitality with my whole experience. The owner had fast communication and was thorough & very helpful with all my questions. When my family arrived at the cabin, my husband (who is very neat) was very impressed with how clean the cabin was. We loved the decor and updated kitchen & floors. The cabin gave a very welcoming feel. The kitchen was amazingly stocked well, the shower had shampoo, conditioner, & soap dispensers, and the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable.
The cabin is close to interesting places to visit and local markets. When we stayed in, there was plenty to do including watching movies on the DVD player or just relaxing on the balcony. We took advantage of the beautiful checkers/chess board on the coffee table and taught our little kids how to play them that weekend! :)
I’ve told several friends of our wonderul experience with the owner and cabin. We truly felt comfortable and at home. Thank you!!
Clean. Comfortable. Quiet.
This was my first time renting a cabin so I have nothing to compare it to. I do not know what I would ask for as far as improvements. We had no problems during our stay.
Felt waaaaaayyyyy nicer than the price!
If the price stays in my budget as it is now, we will return to this cabin more often. It was close to the lifts and several restaurants. The unit was clean, and cozy. I should give it a bad review so people don't take it when I need it, but it's too good even for a joke. Enjoy a great value. If you stay here, please don't critic it like a place that is 4 times the cost, because this place hits the bullseye for what it offers.
BEWARE!! This is a home that you must inspect thoroughly or you will be accused and charged!!!
Beware!! Be sure to check every single thing in this house to be sure nothing is damaged upon your arrival AND prior to check-out. You might also want to take photos, just for your security. When I say everything, I mean everything, even something as small as a damaged safety pin. I was charged $60 for a missing button from a pillow and a mysterious small stain that the owner reported that their housekeeper described as “permanent.” Let me just say, upon our arrival, a button from a pillow was placed neatly on top of an already made bed. Immediately, we placed the button in one of the bedroom drawers unsure of why it was placed there and to keep it in a safe place for the owner. As for this mysterious “permanent” stain. There was absolutely no way the owner can prove that 1. We made that stain and it wasnt from a previous stay that the housekeeper failed to miss and 2. It was “permanent” based off of a subjective statement from your housekeeper. We are an extremely respectful and clean family. To give you an idea, we don’t wear shoes in the house and we never wear outside clothes on a clean bed. This was brought to the owners attention once he “accused” us and I say accused as I quote, “My housekeeper informed me that there was a bedspread that has a permanent stain and that a button was broken off of one of the pillows. There is a $60.00 charge that will be with held from your security deposit. Have a great.” Long story short, the owner believes his housekeeper and believes $60 belongs to him for these “damages” that cannot be proved. Also, $60 for an old bed sheet and a button the size of a quarter, it’s insane that these owners feel that they can even charge people this way (I understand if it was silk), but everything in that house felt like it was from a thrift store and the couch, especially the pillows smelt like thrift store. Plus, the beds, uncomfortable and definitely had bed mites.
So here is my review and take it how you want, but if you want to stay at a place where you need not worry about inspecting an entire home upon your stay and most definitely before you leave, this is not the place for you. People rent these places out to relax, make memories, and be STRESS FREE. It is supposed to be a home away from home and trust me, we treated it as such. Nobody wants to come home from a trip like this, being accused, and someone thinking they can rightfully take your money.
By all means, see for yourself and take a risk!
I'm sorry to read this 1 star review after all our private communication that the issue at hand is still misunderstood. As stated in our private communication we are not accusing you, or your family of being disrespectful or dirty. On the contrary we made it clear that we understand that accidents can happen. So again, to go over the facts of the situation, we are not charging 60$ for a missing button, or a BED SHEET in a guestroom.
Our housekeeper is an independent contractor in Big Bear. She takes care of our house weekly. In doing so she takes inventory of our home after every guest checks out. After your stay she reported the COMFORTER in the master bedroom having a visible area that needed to be laundered.
The 60$ was to cover the laundering of that comforter, which was only a portion of what it would cost us to replace a king size comforter.
I agree with your suggestion and will begin to implement a check-in sheet for the condition of the house for each guest as to avoid this kind of struggle in the future.
I understand the human nature is to throw insults when we feel unjustly accused. Therefore, i don't want to spend to much time defending the insults to my cabin decor. We freshly renovated this cabin this summer and we didn't purchase our furniture from a thrift store. The bed you accused of as having bed bugs is a new bed and bug free, and unfortunately, we can’t always have a firmness that everyone will enjoy.
