NO BEACH ACCESS.
When planning our trip to Siesta Key, it seemed that this condo offered everything we needed. VRBO advertised this property as "just steps from the beach". This is misrepresented on the website. This condo is across the street from the beach, but there is NO way to get to the beach because all the resorts on the beach side are gated and do not allow access to Bay Oaks guests. If you stay in this condo, you will need to drive to a public beach access location (parking is usually full by 11:00 a.m. During spring break) or take the trolley to the beach. I spent a great deal of time driving in traffic and looking for parking in the public lot. Very frustrating.
The condo itself was clean and spacious enough for 4-6 people. The pool was average and the view of the bay was pretty. If you want beach access, look for a property on the opposite side of the street.
Hello Bill and Kristi,
Thank you for taking the time in providing your feedback regarding your recent stay. We were not aware of this unfortunate mistake and have since made the necessary corrections to reflect accurately on the site. Guests will be informed of what features and amenities are available to avoid any future confusion. Undoubtedly, we are sorry that you had to endure such an inconvenience. Spring Break can be hectic and we can only imagine your frustrations. Our hope is that you continued to enjoy your vacation without disturbance despite our error. Although there was no beach access, we anticipate that you were able take advantage of the additional amenities that were readily available. We apologize for the mistake and hope that this will not hinder you from any future stays with us.
We are glad to hear that the space was sufficient for you and your guests and that the bay views were a hit. If you ever return to the Siesta Key area, we would love the opportunity to host you once more.
Again, we thank you for sharing your comments and concerns as this is how we can improve the vacation rental experience for all guests.
Fun in the sun
The condo is spacious and very well Equipped. I liked that there was a drip coffee maker besides an environment destroying Kuerig coffee maker.
It was very clean and the grounds were well cared for. Perfect for people who want a little space from each other also..
The other residents were Very nice and friendly, seemed to gather for cocktails each evening.
There was supposed to be an office somewhere on the grounds but there were no indications of where so I never got the parking permit I was supposed to have.
It was a very easy in and out.
I've been to Siesta Key numerous times and was very fortunate to get a place at Bay Oaks. No elevaters and has some steps but this particular unit is very very clean, brand new furniture, ideal to Siesta Key Village and one of the top 10 beaches ,I believe number 2 in the world, beautiful Bayview, wonderful to sit and have coffee out on the dock in the morning and watch the boats go by. I.would definitely recommend this place and on top of all that it is fairly priced. They office girls to get the key to the condo are super nice , Heidi goes out of her way to hel help with any questions you may have.Don't waste your time looking at condos all day book this unit and get out on the beach!
Perfect Place for Getaway or Vacation
A friend of ours knows the owner of this particular condo and raved about it so we decided to try it. As stated when we arrived we found this completely remodeled, spotless, and comfortable like a home away from home. There was a bottle of wine and a case of water from the owners when we arrived, I found out they do that for each new group coming to their place, nice touch, especially since we arrived around midnight. Woke up early and the kids wanted to go fishing so we walked about 30 seconds to our own dock catching, (mostly loosing), snook, mangrove snapper, and catfish. get fresh shrimp and bait at CB's. The owner has an outdoor closet with fishing poles and supplies, sweet. We went to the beach either by walking or taking a short drive to the new public access right down the key, no costs involved for parking. The beach itself was perfect for our younger kids because of the small waves and clear water, my wife and I were actually able to relax while the kids played in the ocean. Not to mention the white sand, I wasn't aware we had anything like that stateside. After being on the beach for most of the day we would go back to our place, get cleaned up and make dinner either in the condo or cook on the charcoal grills located by the dock. We ate out two nights and there are plenty of restaurants on the key with good food and reasonably priced. If you want a little night life there a number of cool bars that usually had live music , all in the village. The condo itself was larger than expected and you could tell it was remodeled top to bottom, all new. There is everything you need to keep a family functioning on vacation with washer, dryer, big living room, decks for each room, complete kitchen, dining room, the outdoor closet also has chairs and kids stuff for the beach. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom, key for 3 girls and 2 boys, and each room has it's own tv. Most evenings we would get a ride in a taxi and go to the village. Plenty of shops that the kids loved going to, get some ice cream, there is a good pizza joint on one of the side streets, cant remember the name. The Village is definitely family friendly, at least until 10 pm for us. In short this was the easiest vacation we ever had and we are booking this particular condo again, all you need is clothes, with what they provide its like going to your home for a week. I would recommend to anyone. Great condo, awesome location, reasonable for a family.
Beautiful and Relaxing Getaway!
My husband and I were eager to head back to the Gulf Coast and we heard great reviews about Siesta Keys, so I reached out to a couple friends and they highly recommended this condo. We were a bit hesitant since it was not directly located on the beach, but we thought, what the heck. WOW! What a Wonderful Surprise! The place was absolutely beautiful and the view from all rooms, was just remarkable. Situated right on the Bay, with its own private dock, it was the perfect getaway! The condo itself was perfect. Newly remodeled with comfy furniture and warm inviting décor. We had all the amenities you would ever need – more than I have in my own kitchen. We were completely comfortable and felt right at home. The owner’s did not miss a detail when they designed and stocked their place!
We enjoyed our coffee and tea and evening cocktails relaxing on the pier. Since the owner’s provide fishing rods and misc., my husband decided to tinker around and fish a little off the pier – what fun he had and ohh so relaxing!
The beach is right across the street. We walked a couple times and the other days, we took a very short ride to the public beach access (free parking). What a breathtaking beach….white sand and calm, warm water! We have found our paradise
The evenings were a delight in the little village – great restaurants, shops and wonderful people.
We are already looking into booking another week getaway at this same condo, hoping to get it in this winter!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this beautiful condo to all!
