Great location, not so great accommodations

  • 2 of 5

First, I’d like to say this place is in a great location. It’s very easy to walk to local Whole Foods, coffee shops and stores. The area is very beautiful and includes a few parks as well which was great for our toddler. Street parking wasn’t terrible. We never had to park more than a block away. I’d recommend renting a car to get around, especially with a little one as the Uber’s and taxis don’t have car seats for you to use at all. Now for the inside of the apartment. It’s the ground floor apartment so it is cold, damp and very dark. It is sparsely furnished which is okay because it’s a small place as it is. The front room has a futon in it with the tv. I asked the manager/owner if they would have the futon made up for us and was informed no. Thought that was a small thing to ask considering how much we paid. They’ve was not working and my husband had to work on it for awhile to get it to function. The main bedroom bed is awful. Soft and caving in the middle so you roll that way while sleeping. The pillows are old and lumpy and the sheets are stained. These are such easy fixes considering the price per night!!! No air but you don’t need it and space heaters which we used once so that was fine. The bathroom is nice but the shower is small and has several hanging baskets and old shower head apparatus that makes it even tighter to shower in there. The kitchen is a good size with a nice table. The half fridge doesn’t work well and pretty much ruined most of our groceries by freezing the entire refrigerator. The coffee maker was also broken and leaked water everywhere the first morning so we used the French press the remainder of the trip. Also the oven doesn’t work or ample instructions were not left. The patio is very nice and we enjoyed time out there at the table. Also, the tenant upstairs must not have been notified of our trip because he parked his suv in the driveway making it impossible to get up the entrance steps with our bags. We had to hoist them up over the stair railing to get in. Once I notified the owner he asked the tenant to move his car but it was almost 24 hours later before he did. The tenant is also very loud in the evenings. Lastly, the place is just dirty. Stained carpet, hairs in shower, spider webs and live spiders everywhere. The location is great but for the money, I’d find another place to rent.

Basic but clean and great backyard.

  • 4 of 5

Very central, close to everything in a nice quiet neighborhood. Definitely no frills but the backyard with the hot tub and plants more then makes up for it!
