Come and experience your vacation where the deer and the antelope, and moose, elk, bears, wolves, buffalo and more, roam. Off the beaten track, you will be high in the Rocky Mountains, nestled in a narrow valley at the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone Park. Sitting at the confluence of the Soda Butte and Wyoming Creeks, your peace and quiet comes with the soothing sounds of moving water. Enjoy the comfort of this home with 3 fireplaces, newly renovated baths, and a completely outfitted kitchen. The three bedrooms have a combination of full and single beds that give everyone a comfortable place to lay their head. Wake up with a steaming cup of coffee on the deck while you look for the wildlife that is often in the yard. A few minutes walk or drive will bring you to the historic communities of Silvergate and Cooke City where you can soak up the flavor at the local saloons and cafes. Use this as your base to explore the Park, blue ribbon flyfishing, hiking, horseback riding, and more. Or simply curl up with a good book and call it perfect.

This was a wonderful home base as we explored Yellowstone.
The Gail Palmer House was a beautiful, secluded home with all of the needed amenities. We were on the run everyday as our goal was to see as many animals, do a little hiking and admire as much of the gorgeous landscapes as possible at Yellowstone. And I believe we saw just about everything. The beds were warm and comfortable, the kitchen worked for our quick, on-the-run breakfasts, as well as a fantastic one at the bakery. There was even some coffee and chocolates left for our pleasure. The shops and bakery and restaurants in Silvergate and Cooke City offerd just enough for our needs. We kept waiting to see some form of wildlife stroll through the property, but perhaps we just were not there long enough. We really were not there long enough in one sitting, to kick back and relax and enjoy the two creeks and firepit as I had hoped. But then there is never enough time. I do not hesitate to recommend this lovely home to anyone else seeking a respite and a visit to Yellowstone. We will be back. Thank you to the Montana Home owners, the Palmers, for their wonderful hospitality and comfortable home.
Incredible mountain home getaway
This home's location is incredible with two mountain streams bounding two sides of the property! A fire pit next to one of the streams for great evening conversations.
Inside, the bedrooms, kitchen, and living room are well appointed and very comfortable. Master suite is fantastic. This is one of the finest vacation homes we have stayed at!
A wonderful, cosy house right by the Northeast Gate to Yellowstone
We had 3 very enjoyable nights at this property. It's tucked away in the woods, right by a creek, beautifully peaceful, and just what we wanted to visit the quieter, northeast corner of Yellowstone. It is 5 minutes from the park gate, so it's perfect to get to the Lamar Valley early in the morning. Silver Gate is at 7,600 feet, so it gets cold at night, but the house was warm as toast.
The house itself is beautifully decorated, with everything you need, lovely warm beds, firebox, sunny deck and great bathrooms. We would definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to spend time in this amazing area.
Beautiful home! Wish we could stay longer!
Slept so sound from the soda butte creek! Couldn't have asked from a most gracious of hosts! Thank you for hospitality and giving my parents such a beautiful home to stay in while we visited all around us!
Luxurious mountain retreat that exceeded all expectations!
Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay here and we would go back in a heartbeat. The pictures do NOT do this place justice. They simply don't convey how amazing this place is. The house is happily situated right at the junction of two creeks and you can watch and hear them from the deck along with the wildlife (we saw a fox and a deer). The view of the snow capped mountains going straight up on both sides is equally impressive. The house itself is so charming and exceeded all of our expectations. We had the impression an interior designer must have been involved because everything is just so well thought out and appointed. The 2 main bathrooms are to die for luxurious and the main floor master suite completely blew us away. The upstairs room with the bunk beds was perfectly cozy and a friendly retreat for my two young kids. The third bedroom (full size bed and 2 twins) is across the hall from the kids' room and was also charmingly decorated like an upscale B&B. My husband and I chose to sleep there so that we could keep tabs on the kids across the hall. If you have very young children, however, be aware that the staircase is right outside the kids room. If I could make one change, it would be to have some way (gate/door) to block off the stairs so a small child doesn't accidentally go for a tumble. If you don't have toddlers, it's probably not an issue. Also upstairs is an amazing wildlife viewing room (mostly glass walls/ceiling) that has a telescope, a giant bean bag and a couple rocking chairs and it's another great place to hang out. Back downstairs, the kitchen is huge and generously stocked. The main family room is where we spent most of our time and has expansive windows so that you can see the creeks/mountains from almost any point in the room. There's even a cozy library nook in case you feel like picking up a book and finding a comfortable reading spot. In addition, with it's location right next to the entrance to Yellowstone, it was a very convenient place to stay for making frequent forays into the park. Highly, highly recommend.
