MYSTICAL MERMAID is an awesome beach front home that your whole family will love. The living area has an open floor plan with large windows that showcase an amazing view of the beach. The house is beautifully furnished, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Brew a nice cup of coffee in the Keurig and then step outside onto the large deck to watch the sunrise, or enjoy breakfast with your family at the outdoor dining table.
Mystical Mermaid can accommodate 12 guests, with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The master has a king size bed with private bathroom, there are two other bedrooms with queen size beds, and a bunk room with four twin size beds. In addition, there is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Each room comes with its own TV with Comcast cable service and a DVD player. Bed linens and bath towels are provided, but you will need to bring your own beach towels.
Note: One of the bedrooms with the queen bed is in a loft area, accessed by a loft ladder, so it might not be ideal for older individuals.
The large deck that overlooks the ocean is partially covered with plenty of seating, so you can enjoy the outdoor space in shade or soak up some of the sun's warm rays. Downstairs there is a charcoal grill, large picnic table, and a Tiki bar. The TIki Bar has all the amenities; TV, stereo system, refrigerator, microwave, sink, and lots of seating. This is also where the half bath is located and the outdoor shower. Since the beach is only steps away, this area is so convenient for bathroom breaks, refreshing your drink, and making a snack. It's also a great hang out area after the sun goes down--put on your favorite tunes, turn on the party lights, make a cocktail, and enjoy the ocean breeze. If some of the people in your group like to keep later hours than others, the Tiki bar lets those night owls hang out without disturbing everyone else.
Mystical Mermaid is located in Sea Isle on Galveston's West End, about 17 miles from 61st Street. The Sea Isle Supermarket is a short walk across the street and the larger Seven Seas grocery store is less than 5 miles away. Golf carts, kayak and bicycle rentals are available locally, or bring your rod and reel to fish and binoculars to see some of Galveston's beautiful birds that abound in this area.
SEA ISLE has the following amenities: (1 time $50 additional fee per rental) Swimming Pool, Fishing Pier, Playground, Basketball and Tennis Courts Playground. On the bay side of Sea Isle is The West End Marina and Sand Bar which has a Restaurant/Bar/Game Room/Bait Shop/Market/Boat Launch. This is all located about 1 mile from the house.
Everyone knows the beach is a blast in the summertime, but Galveston in the off-season is amazing, so check our site for fall and winter specials. September, October, and April are my favorite months at Mystical Mermaid. The crowds have thinned, the temperature isn't blistering hot, and the water is warm and typically does not have the heavier seaweed you see during the summer months.
During peak season, Memorial Day through Labor Day, we do weekly rentals only. Check in is at 3:00pm. Check out is at 11:00am. We ask that you adhere to our check out time in order for our cleaning service to get the house ready for the next tenant. During the off season, we often have the ability to be more flexible with check in/out times, so please feel free to contact us with any special requests or needs.

Our rental rates are as follows:
Peak (Spring Break, Memorial Day thru Labor Day, and Bike Week in November) Weekly Rate $2450 or $400/night
Note: Less than weekly rental only available under special circumstance at owner discretion
Off Season: Weekly Rate $1600 or $300/night (3 night minimum)
Cleaning/Linen fee $300
Hotel Occupancy tax 15% (9% Galveston and 6% State tax), which must be paid on rental and cleaning fee. For a peak weekly rental, this would be $412.50
Security damage deposit: You have several options for this. You may pay a $400 refundable deposit or you can purchase an Accidental Rental Damage Protection policy. These can generally be obtained for less than $100 and give you around $1800 of protection. If you are a returning renter in good standing, we do not require a deposit.
