Hi Alessandro,
we loved your apartment, and we wanted to thank you for the bottle of wine you left for us.We enjoyed it immensely watching the Colosseo light up at night. We found the neighbourhood to be a delight-close to Metro and bus,and good little restaurants and mercatos and prices lower than what we saw elsewhere.Again thank you for your hospitality. We found it unusual that there were not visitor comments on the VRBO web site.We will be sending a favourable review to them. Thanks again
Ciao,Geoff and Karen Bell
This apartment is a few blocks away from the colloseum. Open up the blinds, lay in bed(or hang out on the balcony weather permitting), and enjoy the nightly view of such an amazing piece of history. Was met at check in to go over the apartment details in full. Not only do you get a fully equipped apartment, there are also small touches that go the extra mile - cds, books, movies, a free cell phone to use for calls, umbrella, travel guides, etc etc. These small things make life so much easier and show that the owner truly cares. Would highly recommend!
You cannot chose a better place to stay. Alessandro met at check in to explain the apartment details in full. Not only do you get a fully equipped apartment, (EXACTLY as advertised, actually you get more than advertised )there are the added small touches that go the extra mile - cds, books, maps, travel guides, movies, and a free cell phone to use for local calls, etc etc. These small things made life so much easier and showed us that the owner really cares. The apartment is very clean and the internet access IS high speed which was a must for us. Would highly recommend this rental! Everything you need is only a block or two away. There is a wine store on the corner, a wine & whisky tasting bar 1 block away, a 24 hour grocery store and 20 or more delicious restaurants within a 2 block radius (so we didn't use the kitchen in the apartment). Sit out on the balcony at night and enjoy a glass or two of wine watch the people below and you can almost feel you can reach out and touch the Colosseum. Location, location, location.
This great little apartment has everything you need and the view from the balcony is amazing. Waking up and going to bed with the coliseum in view was wonderful. Little grocery stores, wine shops and restaurants are around every corner. We were able to walk to all the attractions, Trevi Fountain, the Forum, Pantheon to name a few. We never had to take a taxi. Alessandro was great, he arranged for a car to pick us up and take us to the airport, which made traveling a breeze. The flat was stocked with water, coffee, toast and toiletries. A wonderful experience. Thank you for the wonderful memories!!
As you can see by the photos this apartment is about a 10 minute walk to the coliseum. The view of the Coliseum greats you each morning and evening. There is a 24 hour healthy food store a 4 minute walk away. Plenty of good restaurants in the area. A very walk able neighborhood.
Our host Alessandro is a wonderful host and cares about his guests. He met us and gave a good overview of the neighborhood as well as the how to use the TV internet etc. He even provided a cell phone for local calls. Alessandro provided a couple of bottles of water and some milk in the refrigerator for us and arranged a private car to the airport for our departure.
The top drawer in the dresser is filled with maps and local guide books. The air conditioning was nice and the wifi was strong and robust with good speed. It's small studio and great for our 3 days in Rome.
Thank you Alessandro.
We loved our stay. Alessandro was very helpful. He had some freshly stocked supplies (bread, jams, tea, coffee, milk and water) in the apartment. He was very responsive to questions and even called to arrange a cab for us. We enjoyed a couple of his restaurant suggestions (Papagio and Il Bocconcino). We walked almost everywhere from the apartment. The apartment is small but any time we spent there we were either sleeping or sitting on the balcony enjoying the view!!! Highly recommend.
Alessandro is absolutely wonderful along with the apartment! Incredible location over looking the Colosseum from the nice little terrace, wonderful neighborhood with tons of restaurants of all different calibers ranging from cheap pizza to expensive dinners, lovely wine bars, gelato and pastry shops, anything you could think of is within a 5-10 minute walk. The bus station and metro station is also less than 10 min away. Everywhere you walk in this neighborhood there is something to look at. Churches, ruins, parks, etc. The apartment was lovely as well. Small but clean and comfortable for 2 people. Biggest thing is that the building has a lift that fits 2-3 people. Very convenient at the end of the day when you are exhausted and your feet are hurting so you don't have to walk up 6 flights of stairs. We arrived after midnight on a train from Milan and Alessandro was there waiting for us and was very welcoming. He showed us around the apartment, how to use the TV, the AC, the amenities he left for us in the kitchen (water, milk, bread, butter and jam) and he even provides a small cell phone that you can use to make phone calls (calling restaurants, making reservations, calling Alessandro for something, etc) when out in the city. If you are from the US like us and get charged for making a phone call, it is very convenient. Overall the experience was incredible. We had a small issue with the shower - water goes everywhere all over the floor and it would go from hot to freezing cold back to hot every few minutes. Other than that, we seriously highly recommend this apartment due to the awesome location and amazing host! If we ever go back to Rome, we would definitely stay here again!
