Excellent Place to Stay in Charlottesville

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for quaint, but totally updated accomodations in Charlottesville at a great price, this rental is for you. The apartment has been redone with a beautiful kitchen, bathroom and updated air conditioning and heating units in each room. The location is an easy 15 minute walk from the historic downtown mall where there are great restaurants and shops and about a 45 minute walk to UVA campus. You can take a free trolley from the transportation center in the mall to UVA if you are not up for the walk. Monticello is a short drive way and you can get to wineries and great hiking in 30-40 minutes. While there is no off-street parking, on-street parking in front is no problem. The street is busy during the day as it is mixed commercial/residential, but quiet at night. Being an older home, the bedroom with a queen bed is a bit tight and you can hear, on occasion, noise from the second floor occupants. The owner takes pains to make sure you have all the information you need and treats to welcome you and keep you going. When we return to Charlottesville, this is where we will stay.

Perfect long weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay here! The location was great, less than a ten minute walk to the downtown mall. Street parking was easy to find right in front of the property. The house was furnished nicely with everything we needed, as well as extra touches that went above and beyond such as milk, juice, coffee, water, eggs, and snacks. Would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Charlottesville!

This is a lovely home that was perfect for our needs during our stay in Charlottesville. The location is within walking distance of Downtown restaurants, events, etc. Helen added extra touches that made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay at this property on our next visit to the area.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Loved my stay here in Sept. 2017. The host has a full kitchen and even fresh grounded coffee and a welcome bottle of milk, eggs and few waters.

You are a 3 minute drive to the "mall" which has over 20 restaurants alone. Not to mention retail shops and great bars.

The house is heated and great cooling system for the hottest days in the summer. Little garden out back with two chairs makes for a great wine and conversation place.

The living room has a comfortable couch for TV watching and there is a dining table for 4.

The lone bedroom has a very comfortable bed, dressing table and large closet.

I will stay here again the nest time I am in C-Ville.

idyllic stay

  • 5 of 5

My 9 year old son and couldn't have been better placed to enjoy our month in Charlottesville. Helen welcomed us with wonderful goodies, making us feel immediately at home. The house is walking distance to downtown and scores of good restaurants and shopping....but none of the noise reaches the house! There really was no detail Helen didn't think to include. The kitchen was organized and perfectly stocked for our long stay.

The bed was very comfortable...as was the fold out bed that sleeps one!!

We were there for some 100 degree days, but the air conditioning kept us perfectly comfortable. And evening time was a delight, sitting on the swing out front or catching fire flies in the garden out back. Also, whenever i had a question for Helen, she was immediately responsive with tips and kindness.

We will be back next summer!!
