About michelle Stone

We moved to Hawaii for fresh air, ocean activities, and stress free environment. We came from California, I grew up in San Jose and then moved to modesto and was there for ten years. Plenty of fresh fruit there in the Stanislaus county and memorable people. Alas we had to move as my health was not good being in that area which many find they have severe problems with the air. So we went for it a pilgrimage! We Enjoy travelers from around the world and amazing healthy living taught by so many so freely! I know you enjoy our home as your home, it will suely be a memorable experience!

Unusual two storey wooden house in quiet area with rock pool swimming.

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this house, which was plenty big enough for our whole family and equippped with beach towels, adequate kitchenware and laundry facilities which we needed after traveling for a bit. Being very close to the ocean, the house is cooled by breezes, and fans in each room meant we didn't need the air conditioner (which was slightly noisy anyway, like all air conditioners). I loved how quiet the area was, and especially liked sitting in the front porch gazing at the coconut palms. The house is in a residential area, away from shops etc, so you have to be prepared to drive for supplies, although shops and restaurants in Pahoa aren't far. We also went down to Uncle Roberts on a Wednesday night about a half hour away, with lots of local food and music which was fun. Michelle was lovely, letting us arrive at the house a bit earlier, and being understanding when something broke accidentally. The internet stopped one day and she responded quickly.

Perfect Hilo area site for volcano and snorkeling

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect for a stay on the east side of the Big Island. Clean, well-furnished, and ideally situated for Kīlauea crater and Kalapana lava flow viewing, as well as Kapoho Tidepools, one of the premier snorkeling areas of the Hawaiian Islands. You have nearby grocery and supplies in Pahoa, and Hilo for more city activities.

Our host was accommodating and attentive, thanks Michelle! We will recommend this property to friends and family.

Beutiful house in beautiful area.

  • 5 of 5

Wi simply loved this pretty house near these fantastic tidepools, which we had all to ourselves. With cute green daygeckos on the terasse during the day time and the sound of the garten fountain and corqi-frogs at night, this place will stay in our hearts forever. Shops and reataurants are a 20 min's drive away in Pahoa, which is no problem when you just plan a bit ahread. We knew the weather would be more rainy than on the West coast and found the mixture of sun and fine rain quite beautiful - esecially because it wasen't cold. Later we got really unlucky and had only rain, but I think that is not normal. The house is clean, beautifully furnished and very equipped, even with snorkling gear and surf boards (but no dish washer). Michelle was so nice to bring us toys and games when the weather was bad. There is WIFI, television and som movies (but the TV system is somewhat difficult to figure out). We will come bach if we get the chance.

Relaxing and Invigorating

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the quiet and close proximity to the tide pools. The house was a great spot to relax after a day of exploring Volcano National Park and seeing the sights in the area. We really enjoyed the pond by the house with its fish. A nice walkway along the beach has been completed to view all the tide pools. We loved our time in the house as it was equipped with chairs and snorkel masks to use in the pools. Relaxing on the Lanai in the morning or evening was comfortable on the furniture with fans to cool you down. Mahalo for offering such a charming home for us to use.

Perfect house in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Hayden Belle. The house was a perfect size for our family of four. It was clean, spacious and updated. It was also the best thought out rental we have ever had. Michelle & Marshall have thought of everything that you might need and it is on hand (snorkelling gear, band aids, spices, q-tips, etc.). These extra touches were very appreciated as their is about a 20 minute drive to the nearest store. Now the location - the tide pools are a very short walk away and the snorkelling is some of the best we've done. There is a great array of fish in very shallow and clear pools. It is about a 20 minute drive to Pahoa where there are some great restaurants and shopping. Hilo is about 45 minutes away for even more shopping & restaurants. The drive to the lava flow is about 30 minutes, with an hour+ hike each way when you get there (worth it). We had a fantastic time at Hayden Belle and we hope to get back very soon!

Immaculate, well-stocked and cozy

  • 5 of 5

Thanks, Michelle for sharing your home! Our family of four had a wonderful time. The home is just as pictured. It is located in a residential area between the parking area for the kapaho tide pools and the tide pools. We found it easily with google nav. The kitchen is well-stocked with spices and cookware, aluminum foil, ziplock bags (the little things that we always wish were in the rental). In the closet there there were boogie boards, snorkel gear, a life jacket and beach chairs. There were beach towels and the washer and dryer worked great. Thought it was a great location for exploring the Hilo side. There are some cool small towns around but you have to find them. Communication and check in was easy-breezy. We've stayed in a lot of great rentals, but I think this is the cleanest of them all. Mahaho!
