Note lowered prices for November, January and February! My house is sunny and charming, it has a lovely living room and diner-style dining room. I bought it two years ago and have lovingly restored it, keeping as much of the original charm as possible. There are two bedrooms with closets, dressers, ceiling fans. Renovated but still classic bathroom. Off street parking available and long, shaded yard. Exactly one mile to downtown Frederick, about a half a mile from Hood College, great rental for visiting families! Adjacent to Baker Park, great place to walk, bike, run, wander or feed ducks. Fort Detrick is also about a 5 minute drive, skiing within an hour drive, Cunningham Falls and other state parks and hiking nearby. The house is very convenient to Route 15, one turn! Quiet, residential neighborhood, very safe. I have lots of experience hosting through Airbnb and have great reviews there.

About Jennifer Byrne
I grew up in the Army, lived in many places including Germany, San Francisco, Denver. Also lived in Richmond and Boston. I have been to Russia many times and speak Russian. I am currently a high school history teacher. I have lived in Frederick for 20 years, my two kids are now in college. I own another house in Frederick which was my first renovation project.
Jennifer Byrne purchased this House in 2015
Why Jennifer Byrne chose Frederick
I originally looked at this house to flip it, but something hit me when I walked in. I knew I would buy in and probably will never let it go. It was in bad shape, and I have very carefully renovated it myself keeping as much of the original charm as I possibly could. I am really proud of what I have done, the exterior still needs a little work but the inside is really cute. The bathroom is gorgeous. I will warn you the kitchen is really small, the only real drawback to me, but it does have a window into the dining room so you can pass food right through it on to the dining room table just like a diner!
What makes this House unique
Original hardware or good reproductions wherever possible. If you walk back through my long, skinny back yard you will see the most gorgeous old tree in my neighbor's yard. I should find out what kind of tree it is, it looks like a tree in a fairy tale. Very quiet, residential neighborhood. I love it here.

Okay but areas need improving
Quaint and cozy, good location and plenty of supplies in kitchen, fridge/freezer and bathroom. This will be a nice rental property when maintenance work is completed (outside -front deck dangerous at the edges, painting of back deck and door. Inside – electrical outlets in kitchen not covered).
Extra care needed when accessing washer and drier in basement due to uneven floor and obstacles in the way.
Thank you sir, it was nice to have you here. I'm well aware of the front porch and the manual clearly asks guests to stay away from the edges, I think unfortunately the manual had been misplaced when you were there. That porch is not used by guests since parking is in the back, but repair is already scheduled for the spring anyway. The electrical outlets you mentioned are disabled. Very few guests go to the basement, but you are right there is clutter which I can move and would have moved immediately if you'd shared your concern at the time. Renovating the basement floor is not economically feasible but I'll see what I can do, maybe add slopes/ramps. Major basement renovation and improvement the aesthetics of the exterior is a cost I'd have to pass on to guests, and I think most are happy with the comfortable main floor interior and low price. These are the first complaints of this kind. I'll take them into advice but I think some of them go beyond the offers of the listing and perhaps don't take the low cost into consideration. This is perhaps the most affordable property in Frederick and I make no boasts about the exterior or the basement and feel my listing is honest. I still appreciate your comments and will do everything I can, and I hope you are able to return someday for a better experience. Thank you, Jen
Peaceful and cozy
Quiet cozy place and in a great location. Jen is extremely friendly and easy to reach if anything came up. Overall, very pleasant and welcoming experience
Thanks Kevin, I loved having you here. Come back any time.
Cute work in process
We had a nice 3 day visit in Frederick at Jenn's 40s, 50s place. It was very comfortable inside. It is a cute work in process.
It was really lovely to have you here and I'm glad I got to meet you. Keep me in mind if you ever need another get-away!
Perfect space & location!
The home was the perfect place for our last summer vacation before I go back to work & my daughter starts grad school. The home is in a perfect location and size for us, two. It is convenient to local restaurants, park and interstates. The house is very inviting & comfortable. We will definitely stay here again & strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a place in Frederick.
Overall we were pleased with our stay. It was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was safe, and we felt comfortable having our children with us. We walked to Culler Lake and Rita’s Italian Ice and around the neighborhood feeling safe. We were cool with the window units cooling the house, the appliances worked well, and the owner communicated very well with us. Super pleased and if we needed a place to stay in Frederick again, we would try to rebook this home. Thanks!!
It was great having you and your family here, Ashley. Please come again!
Very clean, well stocked, and adequate spaces and comfort.
