Perfect size for my little family
Enjoyed the view and cabin was perfect size
Great peaceful cabin with fabulous views
This cabin was great! The drive up the paths to the cabin were a little nerve racking but totally worth it. Very clean, plenty of linens, and cozy bed. Views were spectacular. Will definitely be returning one day!
Wonderful place to visit!
We were very happy with our stay here. Beautiful view. Nice clean cabin. A great place to call home for a few days while on our anniversary. Thank you very much for the opportunity to stay here.
We had a great time, the cabin was perfect.
Great view. Had everything we needed
Only issue we had was the wifi signal was weak.
Comfy home base
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the House of the Rising Sun. It was clean, comfortable and away from it all. The hot tub was a plus after hiking in the Smokey Mountains most days. The only thing we thought was a bit weird was the way the hot tub cover was placed. When you were sitting in the hot tub the cover obstructed your view so you could not enjoy looking up at the stars or out into the mountains. If it was placed the other way it would at least give you more cover from the neighboring cabin above you. The fireplace was wood, not gas, but we enjoyed making and listening to the crackling fire on the few chilly nights we had. The view was just beautiful and we loved watching the sun rise with coffee in hand as the Mountains became lighter and lighter every morning. The pool table was fun and we played a few competitive games during our trip. I would suggest bringing your own pillows (we did) and we were glad. They were not very comfortable. There was a washer and dryer in the cabin which was such a plus because we were traveling for a few weeks and hiking and really needed to do laundry. The ride up to the cabin is mind-blowing, but worth the view. We did decide on our first nail-biting drive up to the cabin we would only come down once a day due to how crazy, windy and steep it was. Maybe we just aren't used to roads like that in PA. I am so glad we stayed in Wears Valley and not in Pigeon Forge or Gaitlinburg. We were there to enjoy the National Park and wow were we shocked by all the chaos surrounding it. Pigeon Forge reminded me of Vegas and Gaitlinburg was a "quaint" tourist trap with people EVERYWHERE! If you like quiet and want to stay away from the crowds this cabin would be perfect for you. We really felt comfy here and loved having a home base to come home to every night to enjoy our own dinner, a hot-tub soak and just relax.
