About Joseph Cipriani
I am a former associate professor at the University of Paris. I live in this flat some part of the year. NEW: I offer to rent it only from this year 2013. I am staying in Corsica and traveling the rest of the time.
Joseph Cipriani purchased this Apartment in 2009
Why Joseph Cipriani chose Porte de la Chapelle
I chose this place at the first hand because the district is lively, cosmopolitan, with a lot of businesses and lovely restaurants, and at thesecond hand because the apartment is very quiet, modern and bright.
What makes this Apartment unique
Quietness, brightness, modern comfort, Métro/ buses and businesses nearby, in an lively district. Close to Butte Montmartre and famous district of Abbesses, where many actors are living; you can also find there a lot of artist studioes, as Bateau-Lavoir, where the most famous of them stayed in the last century. Easy access to department stores (Printemps, Galeries Lafayette), Opéra Garnier, Louvre, Montparnasse, ... Pleasant stroll, 10 minutes walk away, on Quai de Seine or Quai de Loire, trendy places on the side of Canal de l'Ourcq, with its converted barges. Lovely Paris Stay
The apartment was perfect for our needs and checking in couldn’t have been easier. The recommended restaurants we tried in the neighbourhood were very good and reasonably priced, especially Les Routiers (loooooved the oeufs Florentine). Short walk to the Metro that took us everywhere we wished to visit with no / minimal need to change lines. We were delighted to find a great market directly across from the apartment with fresh meat, cheese, fruit and vegetables with patisseries nearby. Thank you very much Joseph, we would stay here again if we come back to Paris.
My 11-year-old son and I enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was reliable and extremely fast (100M+ up and down). The washer and dryer worked well and there are lots of shops nearby. Everything we needed. Thanks.
Well-equipped apartment in a great area
We had a fantastic time in Joseph's apartment. It is in a great area, very quiet but so easy to travel anywhere on the Metro from Marx Dormoy. The beds are so comfortable, the apartment is extremely well-equipped and the instructions from Joseph were clear and precise. There are many restaurants and shops at a few minutes walk. All in all, we would recommend this apartment to anyone coming to Paris.
Very comfortable, easy access to Metro and groceries, nice community
We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this charming apartment. There was more then enough room for two people to be very comfortable. We often purchased fresh fruits and vegetables from the local street merchants. Very convenient! There is a short and pleasant walk to the Metro, which we used often throughout our two week stay. We highly recommend this apartment rental for your Paris vacation. Joseph and Mrs. Santos were gracious, friendly, and helpful. Paris was beautiful and so are Parisiennes! Thank you.
Thank you very much Patricia for this acurate feedback.
Hope to welcome you again when you come back to Paris!
Very charming apartment with a lot of natural light!
Very nice apartment with a lot of natural light coming in through windows that face a courtyard. Decorated with charming furniture. Lots of useful equipment/supplies and a very efficient washer/dryer. On the 5th floor, but has an elevator.
Lovely apartment in an authentic part of Paris
The village of La Chapelle was absorbed (became part of Paris) in the mid nineteenth century. This is authentic Paris, traditionally a working-class area and now an evolving, cosmopolitan area with a mixture of middle class, the somewhat poor and disadvantaged people.
Opposite the apartment is the lovely Marché de la Chapelle, the covered food market, that was opened in 1888 and restored in 1958 and 2010. This, together with the surrounding pedestrianised streets, with a variety of shops cafes, bars and restaurants, creates the feeling of a vibrant village. It is less than five minutes’ walk to metro Marx Dormoy on line 12 and the bus stop for no. 35 to Gare de l`Est is nearby.
The apartment, on the fifth floor of a modern building, is very secure and there is a lift, unlike many of the older buildings in Paris, that are without. This is a nicely furnished home, not a typical rental apartment without character. Both the bed and the sofa bed in the lounge are very comfortable. The kitchen, although rather small, is adequate and there is a very good selection of tableware and cutlery.
Both the TV and the wi-fi functioned without any problem.
Many restaurants and convenience stores around. Market hall in front of the building. Cosmopolitan and livened up environment.
Metro and bus stations (Marx-Dormoy) about 3 minutes by foot.
Close to Montmartre (6 minutes away by subway), a quarter of an hour from the Sacré Cœur.
Close to Quai de Seine on the Canal de l'Ourcq (cinemas, bars, restaurants).
Direct access to the Grands Magasins du Printemps / Galeries Lafayette (subway about 15-20 minutes).
The subway station is on the line 12, which leads directly to Montmartre, Pigalle (7 minutes), Madeleine, Concorde, Saint Germain-des-Prés's district, Montparnasse.
