Our rustic, A-Frame cabin is located inches away from the famous Frying Pan River. Although peaceful and secluded, the cabin is only five minutes away from downtown Basalt, where there are restaurants, boutiques, and spas to enjoy. Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen Airport, Maroon Bells, and Whole Foods are only a fifteen minute drive away. With this cabin rental, you also get access to fish our private section of the Frying Pan River, which is famous for rainbow trout.

About Jake Dallenbach
In 1973, racing legend Wally Dallenbach won the California 500 Indy car race and purchased the The Dallenbach Ranch property with his prize money. For over 40 years the Dallenbach family has been running and maintaining the ranch, making it one of the most beautiful and sought after destinations in Colorado. I'm one of Wally's grandsons, who lives on the ranch, and when I'm not getting the cabins ready for guests, I travel the country as a professional driving instructor. Racing runs in our blood, and I work hard to live up to the Dallenbach name.

wonderful escape into nature
Loved being on the water and so close to the ski resorts. I ski but my wife doesn't, this was a great compromise as it was close enough for me to get to the resorts easily and secluded and beautiful enough for my wife to just enjoy the nature. I want to come back in the summer as it looks like it would be even nicer during that time of year.
Beautiful get away
We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! First of all, we felt completely safe, and Jake was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive to any questions we had and was quick to help us out with whatever we needed!
The location is perfect, you can fall asleep to the sound of the stream every night, even in December when we went! It was a little winter wonderland, and Jake even cleared a path through the snow for our car so we had no problem parking.
As for the cabin itself it’s much bigger than you assume from the photos so there is plenty of space. The cabin is also fully stocked with dishes, silverware, soap, a fridge, towels, etc. so you’re good to go.
As for location, it’s just 20 minutes outside of Aspen so it was so nice after a day of snowboarding to come home to this cute warm cabin! Basalt in itself has a lot to offer too restaurant wise if you’re trying to save money and don’t want to eat in Aspen. All in all, very pleased!! Definitely want to come back!
Cute, Cozy and Beautiful Views
This was the perfect place to stay for a quick get away. It was right ON the river! The rushing sounds of the water was nice. The views of the forest and red cliffs are incredible. We had a very very small issue when we arrived and we were able to get the help we needed right away, they were very responsive and got us up and running! Will defiantly consider staying again if we return to this area. There are great restaurants in Basalt, and easy access to Aspen and the Maroon Bells!
Cozy cabin and beautiful setting!
We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful little A-Frame cabin. The river is just feet away from the back porch and it was a wonderful place to just kick back and relax.
We had four people in our party and we all slept very comfortably. I felt the cabin was a little bigger than the pictures make it look. The kitchen was very well stocked with microwave, oven, stove, pots and pans, utencils, etc. there was also a grill on the back porch, which we didnt get a chance to use but which would be great in warmer weather. Everything was clean and in great shape when we arrived. We would definitely stay again!
