About Remember Your Spirit

Hello, we are the Behrens family and I am Dwayne, my wife is Mariana and our daughter’s name is Mia.

I was born a raised in Michigan and I have loved Traverse City ever since my family vacations there when I was young. As kids we fished and swam in the lakes, climbed sleeping bear dunes and terrorized the town on our pedal bikes like normal kids. Traverse City has never lost that small town feeling of my childhood, it is a place where childhood memories are made. When we purchased our home in Traverse City, my childhood dreams became an adult reality. My fun list as a family is about the same as when I was young but now as an adult couple, we love to go wine tasting and relax on the deck with friends and a glass of wine or spend a day boating on the lake. Traverse City is a place where childhood memories are made and family and adult fun continues. Start your memories today by booking your vacation with us.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Mariana - Our stay at your lovely cabin.

First, we had a wonderful time. It was great seeing our son, cooking together and experiencing snow!

We don't do snow in New Orleans and our little one was able to play in it safely on your deck and that was a real plus.

The fireplace was cozy and we appreciated the firewood that was available.

We LOVED our stay and were so happy to be here.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Nancy C.

Wouldn't go back

  • 3 of 5

I hate writing a bad review, but I feel I should give some balance to the others. Yes, the lake view and deck are spectacular. The lake is quiet and private. However, the home seemed dirty. The drains in the master were extremely slow , so we used the basement shower most of the time. We were left 1 garbage bag, a 1/3 of a role of paper towels. We ended up purchasing supplies that other VRBO's have supplied us in the past. The patio by the fire pit was crumbling in small pieces. It just didn't seem kept up. Lots of large cob webs on deck, grill was dirty. The kitchen and architecture are very nice, but The home needs some attention. We did try to contact owners about a window that wouldn't close, and drainage. Maybe they never got it. The other issues were just too monumental to address. All else went fine. It would be difficult to find a better and more private lake view.

Mesmerizing Week on Mickey Lake

  • 5 of 5

All the conveniences and comfort of home nestled in a heavenly location. We appreciated the decor and all the love that was poured into this home. It seemed like every room was a conversation piece. The fire pit was a bonus on the cool evenings and the view was mesmerizing!!!! We took advantage of the grill and made a fantastic dinner and ate sitting on the deck!! I cook a lot at home and certainly appreciated the quality of the food in the local restaurants. We set well!! Anyway, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider a return visit!!

Very nice and clean.

  • 5 of 5

We had five kids and four adults stay here and it was more than enough room.

Boat dock is nice and easy to use.

Clean and very quiet.

Relaxing with the Family

  • 5 of 5

The house was just as they said it was, could not of asked for a better location. Close enough to drive to the sandy beach if you wanted and also a convenient mart was close. Would diffidently stay there again if we were to visit that area again.

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed our stay on Mickey Lake. The views from the decks and windows were outstanding. We rented a pontoon boat from Rick. He brought it right to the dock. Throughout our entire stay from June 9 to 16, Long Lake and Mickey Lake were peaceful. We enjoyed coffee in the morning on the top deck and fires in the evening in the fire pit. Even when it rained, we were able to enjoy the swings on the bottom deck. Sitting in the living room is almost like being outside because of the gorgeous windows. We highly recommend staying here!
