Buck Shoals Cabin is located in the Yadkin Valley. This is home to many local wineries that are located within 10 miles of the cabin. It is close enough to town if interested in shopping or eating out but nested in the beautiful valley on a 40 acre farm for all the privacy you could want. It is on a beautiful creek with a dam so you can play in the shoals below the dam or fish and boat in the water above the dam. Walking trails along the creek and into the woods above the dam provide an opportunity to see wildlife. Horseshoe pits as well as corn hole are provided on site. Fire Pit with firewood are also provided.

About melissa brown
My husband is a contractor and build this cabin. It is our pride and joy. It is wood with a tin roof. Built on a creek with a dam you wake up to the sounds of the creek. So relaxing and views are beautiful.
Why melissa brown chose Hamptonville
We have always loved this area and always said we would one day live on this creek. The opportunity came up to purchase some land here and we could not resist. After much debate we decided to built a cabin and am so happy with it. Now we have decided to take it a step further and share the beauty of our property with others.

One of our favorite places!!!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Thank you Melissa for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. What a great way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary. We felt right at home the moment we arrived. The cabin is amazing and the view of the creek is awesome. This place is so full of history it’s a must if you are planning on staying in the area.It is located in a good central location if you want to go to Hiddinite and mine for gems or spend the day in Mayberry(Mt. Airy). Or you could just spend the day at the cabin walking nature trials, fishing or take the paddle boat out. One thing you must do is visit the Union Grove General Store just down the road. We can’t wait to come back!!! This is by far one of my favorite places. Thanks again.
Clean and newly remodeled with nice view of dam. Quick with easy access to the wineries of the area.
The area was rural and quiet. The dam area had seating with fire pit at night. The Television was limited to a few channels, allows The family to community more. We would say 4 1/2 stars as overview. Nice lace and recommend to friends.
Great weekend stay!
This was great for our quick weekend in the mountains! The waterfall and fire pit are beautiful even though we didn’t get time to use the fire pit. The deck was wonderful! Very convenient to the wineries. Very clean and comfortable for our group. May need a couple more dishes, bowls, etc. but other than that everything was great! A little WD-40 on the upstairs bathroom hinges might help as well.
What a fun place
Very relaxing place. Loved the trails along the creek. A great place to photograph nature. I am glad that I read the reviews that there was no oven, just a hot plate. Otherwise we would have brought things that could have only been heated in the oven.
Perfect Relaxing Get-a-way
Enjoyed the view & accommodations. Up for cousin's wedding nearby & was great off the beaten path place. My family & pups had a blast together.
Great for a short trip!
Peaceful & pretty. We enjoyed the water & the host were kind & accommodating. There's no full kitchen so not ideal if you're wanting to cook with a stove or oven. We grilled the whole time.
