Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-7)

Three Sisters Log Cabin is an elegant, private, 18th century log cabin that happens to be one of only a few surviving two story log cabins along Virginia's scenic and world-renowned Blue Ridge Parkway. The only Virginia property featured in 'The Top 100 Most Beautiful Rustic Vacation Properties in North America,' Three Sisters Log Cabin is truly an unusual find and one that the discriminating guest will find themselves keeping secret - and sharing only with a few close friends.

Surrounded by towering rhododendrons, thickets of mountain laurel and a forest carpet of wild ginger, trillium and wintergreen, the cabin is secluded - some would say remote - and perfectly peaceful. The cabin's split rail fence separates the mountain hollow from the wilderness beyond, where just down the winding road you can find Crabtree Falls, Spy Rock, Wintergreen Resort and the mysterious Appalachian Trail.

Three Sisters has been meticulously restored. The wood-burning stove is the focal point of the cabin's original log great room. The picture windows of the post and beam kitchen and bath seem to let the outdoors inside. The original log bedroom boasts a queen-size bed, two twins and sleeping loft accessible by ladder. The hot tub is just outside the kitchen door on the fieldstone terrace.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over the weekend and it was just beautiful! Loved the pumpkins outside the front door and on the picnic table. Loved seeing not only the stars but the shooting stars, the satellites flying across the sky (watching the sun bounce off it was a first), the noise of the creatures surrounding us at night, and not having cell service. It was PERFECT. Adored every detail in the house as well. Windows for walls in the bathroom and the kitchen? Awesome. You will not need to bring anything for the kitchen as they have everything you need there aside from your specific spices (keurig and coffee maker provided). There's a bountiful amount of bug spray as well (mosquito's were out) for the ones that have sweet blood). Tons of blankets and pillows as well upstairs. Not one single problem during our trip other than having to come back to the city. Will be returning in the future! Stop at the breweries (Devils Backbone and Blue Mountain Brewery are the places we stopped by) and Montebello's Country Store as they have delicious treats in mason jars.

Cutest place ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

The Three Sisters Cabin was absolutely amazing. We loved every moment of our short stay, and plan to book it again in the future. It literally is the cutest most charming place ever. The owners have also gone to great lengths to ensure that all of the right creature comforts are available, from wood in the wood-burning stove, to books and board games, to all cooking necessities, to coffee and popcorn. There is no internet...which we found as a bonus during this relaxing getaway. There is, however, beautiful scenery, a relaxing atmosphere, and things to do nearby. The place seemed very large for the three of us. My daughter LOVED the tiny loft area which she claimed for her own for sleeping and reading. It could sleep seven at a stretch, but five or less would be just fine as long as you deconflicted the one bathroom. Overall, top rated. One of the best stays we have ever done. I cannot recommend this delightful little historic beautiful cabin enough.

Lovely secluded cabin near Crabtree falls

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time disconnecting from the world. Crabtree Falls is a beautiful morning hike and Staunton and Lexington have lots of great food. Would definitely do it again. Thank you Three Sisters for the relaxing and recharging weekend!

A beautiful place to get away from it all.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin for our anniversary. It was the perfect place to stay. We felt like we were truly secluded from everyone and everything. It was wonderful to lay out back on the hammock and watch the stars come out, then sit in the hot tub listening to the night sounds. It was very rustic yet had all the little conveniences you could possibly need. I plan to stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you and your husband had a nice time. We work hard to make the cabin both an intimate place place for couples while also being family friendly. I hope that you both can come back and join us with the rest of your family. We'd love to have you! Thank you for your kind words. Kathy

A peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a lovely place that is warmly inviting, comfortable and charming, and a lovely restoration with a lot of history. Although it has a primitive feel, it has all the modern conveniences. The kitchen and bath are a seamless addition to the back of the original cabin, filled with glass to invite the outside in. You feel like you are cooking in the woods. If you are looking for restaurants close by you will be disappointed, but as a launching point for hiking and outdoor activities, it will be like heaven,
