About The Home Owner's
We take great pride in our Cape Cod Village Home. We love to open our home to Family's wanting to create some unforgettable memories here on Cape Cod, Ma.. We do hope you'll give us the opportunity to serve you now and in the future! Thank you for taken the time to view our Wonderful Home!
Why The Home Owner's chose Hyannis
The town of Barnstable on Cape Cod is divided into 7 villages, the largest of which is Hyannis. Hyannis is the gateway to the area and, if arriving by plane, train, bus or boat, it is likely your first stop in town. The town is best known as the presidential getaway for the Kennedy clan who spent any available downtime at the family compound in Hyannis Port. The best way to see their stately homes is from sea aboard the Prudence, an old-time Maine Coastal Steamer circa 1911. Hy-Line Cruises organizes a 1-hour sightseeing cruise past the Kennedy compound. But you don't need political family ties to appreciate what drew this iconic American family to the region. The town of Barnstable, and Hyannis in particular, is beloved by travelers for its laid-back atmosphere and friendly vibe. And then there are the beaches. In Hyannis, Kalmus Beach is a popular spot for windsurfers with a constant breeze and good waves coming in from Nantucket Sound. The large beach is divided into 2 sections to safely keep swimmers and windsurfers out of each other's way. Keyes Beach is a family-friendly spot with soft, clean sand. The picnic tables and snack bar make it easy to grab lunch and return to the beach for more sandcastle-building fun. Veterans Beach is another convenient family beach and also the home of historical shrines honoring John F. Kennedy and the Korean War Memorial. In West Barnstable, Sandy Neck Beach is the longest in the area with 6 miles of pebble sands including off-road vehicle trails. All of these spots boast full beach facilities and lifeguards for safe swimming. The town maintains an old-fashioned vibe that is a pleasant reminder of slower times. Climb aboard the Cape Cod Trolley for a slow ride around town. There's plenty to keep the little ones entertained including mini golf and a carousel on Main Street and loads of places to stock up on ice cream, snacks and penny candy at the Kandy Korner.
What makes this House unique
Mini buccaneers can indulge in some swashbuckling fun aboard an old-time pirate ship, the Sea Gypsy. You can also head out to sea for the ubiquitous New England whale-watching trip. Your guide will be happy to point out exactly what kind of whale you're looking at including humpbacks, finbacks or the North Atlantic Right whale.Hyannis is the largest of the seven villages in the city of Barnstable, Massachusetts. Also it is the commercial and transportation hub of Cape Cod and was designated an urban area as a result of the 1990 census. Because of this, many refer to Hyannis as the 'Capital of the Cape'. It contains a majority of the Barnstable City offices, and two important shopping districts, the historic downtown Main Street and the Route 132 Commercial District, including Cape Cod Mall and Independence Park, headquarters of Cape Cod Potato Chips. Hyannis is an highly important tourist destination and the primary ferry boat and general aviation link for passengers and freight to Nantucket Island. Hyannis also provides secondary passenger access to the island of Martha's Vineyard, with the primary passenger access to Martha's Vineyard being located in Woods Hole, a village in the nearby town of Falmouth. Due to its large natural harbor, Hyannis is the largest recreational boating and second largest commercial fishing port on Cape Cod, behind only Provincetown. The JFK Hyannis Museum in the old Town Hall on Main St. focuses on John F. Kennedy's time spent in the town. There is a memorial to President Kennedy on the Lewis Bay waterfront that was erected by Barnstable citizens in 1966. The memorial includes a fountain and a field-stone monument with the presidential seal and JFK inscription: 'I believe it is important that this country sail and not sit still in the harbor'. President-elect John F. Kennedy gave his victory speech on November 9, 1960 at the former Hyannis Armory, which is in the National Register of Historic Places.

Letdown at Cape
Even through the property was in a quiet neighborhood and close to the center of town the pictures on line were not what it was when we arrived. Things were older and needed attention. We tried to clean up to improve our stay. I had ended my trip early due to house's condition flaring up my asthma. If things like pots and pans, ac and certain furniture were updated or cleaned my stay would have been enjoyable . Not worth the cost .
Really put a damper on vacation.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy to hear that you found the neighborhood to be quiet and conveniently located. The home is in a central location but still tucked away on a quiet side street.
With that being said we have made all the necessary updates that you have mentioned. We are sorry that you decided to depart just "2 days" prior to your check out date.
The pictures of our Cape Cod Village home that are shown ARE the photos of the home and nothing different! So we're quite confused when you say the photos are not the same.
That's definitely not a true statement made by our Guest!!!
If the photos were not actually photos of the property HomeAway and VRBO would not allow our Cape Cod Village Home to stay listed on there website for over 11 years!!! We are also a Premier Partner of HomeAway. Premier Partners of HomeAway is a recognition of delivering excellent service to our Guests!!
We were in contact with the Guest during her stay and we tried very hard to accommodate her during her stay.
The pots and pans are all new, so we are still not sure what she means by having new pots and pans. This was never mentioned to us during her stay.
We want nothing more than for you to enjoy your stay at our Cape Cod Village Home!!
Our goal is to make certain each and every Guest that stays at our home are happy and comfortable during there stay!!
We hope you will give us the opportunity to accommodate you and your family! And don't forget we are PET FRIENDLY 😉
Thank you for taking the time to read the homeowners response. 🙂

Easy, Simple, Convenient Cape Cod Getaway
This place is the kind of place where you're not worried about the kids messing up the furniture. There's plenty of space for everyone to get away. The AC units in the rooms are loud and provide a nice sound absorber between rooms if you've got noisy little ones that wake up super early and others who like to sleep past 6am :)
We had a fantastic time staying here. It's convenient to walk to fireworks on the 4th, downtown dining, ferry to Martha's vineyard, great backyard space for dining and kids entertainment, W/D in basement, and just general sensible amenities.
-It's a bit musty so there are lots of plug-ins to mask the smells. We unplugged them due to allergies and it got better.
-The address we were given on the app doesn't match the actual street address, but the picture helped. (That's the reason for 4 stars for property description.)
-There are no curtains on the windows so sleeping in is challenging. If you have little ones, bring a curtain to pin up or they'll be up with the sun everyday! :D
-The doors stick due to wood expansion in an older home. I got stuck in a room once and so did two of the kids. Because of the noisy AC units we didn't even hear their cries! It was brief but I thought the owners might want to know so this doesn't happen again for others. :)
The owners were super prompt and helpful and just seem like kind people who want others to enjoy their home.
Hope this helps! Enjoy :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience at our Cape Cod Village home with us.
We have replaced the noisy A/C units in the home with brand new A/C units.
As for the air freshener plug ins they were not in place to mask a musty smell but to freshing up the air because it's be very hot outside and our Guests keep the windows closed with the A/C's on.
We haven't had anyone tell us the home smellt musty. This is the first time hearing it.
Living on the Cape is challenging do to being so close to the water . Doors and windows expand etc... We do our best to address all theses issues as they are brought to our attention.
Again we'd like to thank you for choosing our lovely Cape Cod Village Home. We have addressed all issues that have been mentioned in your review.
Thank you kindly,
Very Nice Clean Home & Quiet Location
This house worked out nicely for us. Our group had 8 people and there was plenty of room for all of us.
There were 3 comfortable bedrooms. Spacious living room with enough furniture to accommodate all of us and our friends that came by to visit.
The home was located in a quiet neighborhood and close to downtown Hyannis. We had a very nice time here and enjoyed our stay. The owner's were nice to talk to and very responsive when needed!
This is a nice home overall and would like to come again. The home is also pet friendly and that was a plus. We hate leaving our dog at home! The backyard was private with a fence. We felt right at Home during our stay.
Thank you for letting us stay at your home!
I want to thank you for choosing our lovely Cape Cod Home and hope to see you again in the future! We really enjoyed having you stay at our lovely Cape Home.
