Our family and another family stayed over Spring Break 2016. Four adults, six kiddos, and it was a great stay. The home is not brand new, but is great based on price, location, and comfort. Snow plow hit the driveway each morning during our snow storms. Actually, travel to the mountain was a non-event as we caught the shuttle just up the driveway to the ski hill each morning. And, the kids loved the hot tub every evening. The house is maybe a mile or two off Main Street and allows you to feel secluded in the woods. But the best plus, the owner, super nice folks and just a joy to work with. If going to Winter Park with a group, Greg and Denny Brock will be our first contact! Thanks for another great stay!!!
Our immediate and extended family stayed in this home in January 2016 and had a fantastic experience. The layout was perfect with three bedrooms on the main level and the bunk room and living area in the lower level. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing. The home is on the bus route which made getting to the slopes easy for all! The owners were very accommodating and made it a great, seamless experience. We will definitely be back!!
My parents, my wife's parents, and our kids (three generations) stayed here over the 2014 Christmas Holidays, and the house suited us perfectly. From the time we arrived, we felt right at home. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living area with fireplace, and kitchen (well stocked, lots of counter space) on the main floor and a second living area (with fireplace) along with a third bathroom and bunkroom downstairs. And, although the hottub is outside downstairs, it is merely one step to get indoors frrom the hotub to dry off versus a chilled dash for the indoors. The kids loved having their own area downstairs, with bathroom, as they weren't overly involved with all the college bowl games in the upstairs living area.
The home is about a mile from the main street of Winter Park. It's on the south side of Winter Park, closest to the ski area, which is perhaps two miles from the town of Winter Park. And Safeway was to the north about two miles from Winter Park.
We were dropped at the ski area most mornings, but took the shuttle home. If dropped, I highly recommend being dropped at Mary Jane for a short 30 yard walk, vs Winter Park, which was about a 5 minute walk. We took the shuttle home, which drops you a mere 120 steps (yes, I counted) from the driveway, perhaps a 30 second walk. And, the house is on the 'front end' of the brownline, perhaps the 6th or 7th stop, about a 15 minute ride.
We had use of the garage, which easily accomodated a Suburban, and was a plus to keep our skis in the 'cold' at night. And a washer and dryer meant we were able to pack very light, and simply do laundry mid-trip.
The home fronts the National Forest. On walks, my father-in-law got pictures of several moose. We had winter storms almost daily, but the roads and driveway were kept clear. We had no issues getting to and fro town. And, some properties mention railroad whistles at night...eight nights and we never heard a train.
The home was built in the 80s or 90s, but was clean and perfect. Wi fi worked without fail. Newer properties carry much higher rates, and this had all the comforts of home.
Minor cons, only one king bed, everything else a single or bunk. And hot water can be limited if several showers are being used all at once in the AM.
The best feature, the owners who were in constant contact, helping us with local intelligence, and just ensuring we were having a great time. Hands down, a great property to rent. Thanks Greg!
We (my husband and I, 3 adult children and spouses and 3 friends) stayed at this great house. It is on the bus line close to Winter Park ski area. The house was clean and our beds in the master were very comfortable. Others in the group complained that their beds were a little hard, but all agreed they would gladly come back. We had a great time and loved the house.
My family and I stayed last week, beautiful home, better than described! Lots of room for everyone to have their own space.
Owners were very helpful with ski coupons, welcome basket with goodies and information on closest tubing, grocery stores, etc.
I highly recommend this one!
My wife, her family and I stayed at this amazing home at the beginning of 2012 for three days of skiing at Winter Park. We could not have been more in love with this wonderful home. It has plenty of room in the upstairs living area and kitchen for the eight of us to relax by the fire, play games or cook. The downstairs living area has a nice living area and fire as well. We also loved the hot tub on the back porch. The scenery was just beautiful to relax by after a day of skiing.
The owners were extremely helpful to us, finding us discounts on ski passes, supplying us with a huge baskets of snacks and being very responsive to our questions. We could not have asked for more.
Thank you very much for allowing us to create some family memories at your place. God Bless
