Christmas Tree Cutting Special!

Jump into the Christmas Season by coming to the High Country to cut your own Christmas Tree. Explore our beautiful village of Blowing Rock, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas while taking care of your Christmas Shopping!

Trails End is offering week nights for $94.00 and weekend nights for $105.00. Weekends require a two night stay. Included is plenty of coffee and hot chocolate, and fresh muffins in the morning to help make your mini vacation warm and cozy.

Newly remodeled with a rustic urban ship-lap decor, Trails End at Blowing Rock is the lower level of a mid-century cottage. Situated in the midst of the Moses Cone-Blue Ridge Parkway lands, guests have private parking, outside entrance, complete privacy, use of a fire pit and barbecue grill, well-stocked kitchenette with a live edge wood slab, maple countertop, antique furniture, barn doors, quality linens, a new washer & dryer, pillow top king bed, queen sleeper sofa, antique day bed with 12 inch memory foam mattress, plus lakes, rivers, and 100s of miles of hiking trails just out the door. The owners who live on the upper level are normally available to answer questions, make hiking and biking suggestions, and help make your mountain get-away as wonderful as possible.

Trails End is in a fantastic location where the visitor can enjoy views of Grandfather Mountain, or walk across the street and hop onto the trail head of the Green Knob trail. We're located less than two minutes to Rich Mountain and Trout Lake. You will never run out of things to do if you love the outdoors. We even have some great bird watching, turkey watching, deer watching, and bear watching from the kitchen windows.

Enjoy a day of hiking, an evening watching the sun set over Grandfather Mountain, and a night watching movies on Roku, Netflix, Sling, and Amazon. You'll enjoy our cool, fresh mountain air in the summer and our cozy, warm cottage in the winter. Every season is great in the High Country and we are ready to help make your vacation to Blowing Rock a special memory.

Please take a second to read some reviews of Trails End:

This is a true gem! It's beautiful, safe and inviting. You can see and feel the attention to detail, from the coffee and creamer in the fridge to the walking sticks by the door. It has such a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. It provides complete privacy and safety. The amenities such as the additional space heaters, toiletries, extra blankets, bird watching books, spa heater in the bathroom, wi-fi and music playing as we arrived did not go unnoticed. We had plenty of time to explore Blowing Rock, hike the lovely trails and relax with a good book. Next time we come we must spend time by the inviting fire pit. This charming home home could be featured on HGTV. We loved every second spent here. The only thing you would want for is more time to spend at the charming Trails End. We sat and had our coffee watching the birds, chipmunks, squirrels and wild turkeys outside the window. This is a must whether you come alone, as a couple or with a small group! We will be back!!

We had a terrific stay at Trails End. The decor and accommodations were very well done and completely comfy. The cottage is perfectly located for great trail hiking and convenient to all attractions of the High Country. Our hosts were so accommodating and were perfectly tuned in to making our stay very comfortable. We had a great bonfire and really enjoyed the bird watching right outside our kitchen window. I highly recommend Trails End.

About Rebecca Lycan

We bought our mid century fixer-upper house in Blowing Rock in 2014. We believed that the house had good bones and would be a good renovation project, but we were not expecting to absolutely fall in love with the house and the entire area. The last two plus years have been focused on interior renovations and working on the 1 acre lawn.

We began the lower level cottage renovation in September. It has just recently been completed. Can't believe it is the same space. We love it. It's comfortable and sunny. We also love the simplicity of the furnishings.

We're high country residents since 2007. We feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful place, with so many down to earth, friendly people.

The cottage is impecable, perfectly nestled in the city near so many fun places to visit, and Becky and Scott are amazingly hospitable! Without a doubt, the perfect place for any family that wishes to visit this charming city.

We loved our stay here at Trail's End. Cozy, comfy, pretty.

We arrived minutes after the biggest rain storm anyone had ever seen in this part of North Carolina. The sun was peeking out as we located the property. The very kind owner was on-hand to welcome us, as we shared our stories of the storm. The apartment is larger than it appears in the photos and is appointed with Appalachian furnishings alongside modern. All very attractive and comfortable. We'd love to come back.

Perfect mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place is actually cuter than the pictures! Great attention to detail - dream mattress and bedding and all the basics in the mini kitchen. We walked right across the street to go hiking.

I will definitely come back!

The owners have clearly put a lot of love and thought into this property. There were so many kind touches and we had everything we needed. They were attentive and great hosts - we had a bed and breakfast feel in a quiet spot, convenient to Blowing Rock and many hiking trails. Thank you for a great stay!
