Romantic epicenter for wineries, hiking, waterfalls & mountain festivities!!!
Welcome to Mountain Cove Cabins, which include our Brook Trout and Black Bear Cabin. These “true log” cabins are located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountain wine country and in the foothills of the Blue Ridge National Forest. They are definitely the perfect vacation destination for folks looking to be at the epicenter of mountain festivities – while enjoying the beauty and solitude of the Appalachian Mountains.
The cabins are next door to the waterfalls and swimming holes of Waters Creek, the AT access on Blood Mountain and the historic Turner’s Corners Café. Located smack-dab between Helen and Dahlonega, Cleveland and Blairsville, there are endless mountain activities to explore. There are 8 vineyards within a 15-mile radius with Frogtown and Three Sisters only 5 miles down the road.
The cabins are in the National Forest off of Hwy 19. You will turn off of 19 on to a beautiful one lane paved road that winds back into the mountains beside a creek and several waterfalls. You’ll go 1.5 miles until you see an old log cabin with a big pine knot and a garden on your left. Turn left and drive up the mountain. If you don’t turn left you will dead-end into the National Forest and possibly be eaten by a bear.
Newly renovated, decorated and accommodated for welcomed guests, the cabins have a nice log queen-size bed, foldout couch, flat-screen TV, standard kitchen with new appliances and a remodeled bathroom. Laundry services can be provided with advanced notice. Each cabin has a porch with rocking chairs that looks out over the forest. There are seasonal mountain views and a creek below the cabins.
Go hiking, fishing, rafting, gold panning, swimming, biking, horseback riding, wine tasting, golfing, tubing or just relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch. We sincerely hope that you enjoy these precious little mountain getaways as much as we have enjoyed growing up here.

About owner/property manager
We are what folks call - 'Nuggets', which is a slang term for the local mountain folks. Mark & I grew up in the mountains of northern Lumpkin County, waited a long time to get married and finally tied the knot a few years ago. We are parents to a beautiful, smart and funny 3 year old, one spoiled rotten diva-mutt and a grouchy 20 year old cat. We waited a long time to get married so that we could travel the world and wanted to give back to the wanderlust spirit by opening our cabins to people of the same heart. While we do not travel as much now, we continue to spend our free time playing in the woods of the beautiful mountains we call home.
Why owner/property manager chose Dahlonega
Because its home. It’s where we were raised, where our ancestors were raised and we'd love nothing more than to share the beauty of our home with you!
What makes this Cabin unique
We know every creek, mountain, waterfall, pawpaw patch and blueberry bush on these mountains. If you'd like to see something that no one else knows about - we know where it is. Just ask us.

We had a great weekend
I'm so glad William. Thank you for coming to stay.:)
Perfect little place!
This little cabin was perfect for a our short getaway to the mountains! We had every thing we needed. We enjoyed exploring the area and relaxing on the front porch. We can't wait for next time!
Thank you so much Rebecca! Please come back and stay again. It was a joy to have you.:)
Close to it all!
Cute, cozy, clean, quiet, quaint cabin in the woods! Next to another cabin that would be ideal for extra family and friends. Both still have privacy. Hiking all around and close to lovely historic downtown Dahlonega. I Just wish I had more time to explore the area. Two nights wasn't long enough.
Thank you for the sweet review Denise! Please come back and stay longer.:)
Charming cabin to get away from it all
Beautiful, private and quiet location yoo in the mountains. Close enough to Dahlonega for dinner in town. Really appreciated Brooke's attention to detail, had everything we needed. Definitely hope to return!
Thanks Karen! Please come back and see us!
It was a very nice place for us. We definitely recommend it.
Thank you so much! Please come back again!
We had a wonderful trip. The cabin was cozy and had all we needed. (plenty of blankets, washcloths, dishes, etc) My only complaint is the Directv had hardly any channels. We ended up watching the news every night (3 girls in their 30's). They did have a dvd player and dvds I was just a bit disappointed because we had grand plans to watch a couple shows over the weekend. So I would bring a firestick or movies for nighttime. The cabin was convenient to the wineries and downtown but if your plan is to do wine tastings I strongly suggest getting a driver/shuttle. An 8 mile distance can take 20-30 minutes. Overall we loved the cabin! Thank you!!
I'm so sorry that you guys didn't get to see your shows. I totally understand. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will definitely tell folks in the future to bring their firestick or apple tv. Great idea! Thank you.:)
