Who ever knew you could fit so much convenience and luxury into 500 square feet? Our brand-new one bedroom apartment features a gourmet kitchen, a luxurious cathedral-ceilinged living room, a bedroom and a deck that faces the sunset.
The front deck is a great place to have your morning coffee or have a glass of wine as you watch the sun go down. The house is quietly air-conditioned and has a sound system to enjoy your music or stream your favorite programs. The kitchen fixtures, countertops and appliances, including the washer and dryer, are top quality. There is a spa-like bathroom, and a comfortable bedroom with French doors opening onto a Juliette balcony overlooking the rear yard. The bedroom has a quiet ceiling fan for days when air-conditioning is not desired. Pocket doors offer privacy in each room.
The Carriage House is located in historic Laurel Park, a half block from the Burns Court district, complete with the famous Sarasota Film Society Burns Court Cinema and Owen's Fish Camp. We are a 10-minute walk to Main Street and its many restaurants, shopping, and a bowling alley at Evie's. The marina, another place for beautiful sunsets, is six blocks away. Whole Foods is a three minute drive. All of Sarasota's many cultural activities, such as opera, dance, theater, jazz and other performing arts, are a short drive or walk away. Other activities, such as the Mote Aquarium, Baltimore Orioles spring training, public and private golf courses, sailing and canoeing, Selby Botanical Gardens, the Ringling Museum, the famous Saturday Farmers Market, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, and the Ca d'Zan are just minutes away.
And then there's the beach. Siesta Key Beach was ranked by many, including Conde Nast Magazine and Trip Advisor, as one of the best in the US, and best in the world by Travelers's Choice. If you're looking for a smaller beach, you can choose from Crescent Beach, Turtle Beach, Lido Beach or Longboat Key. Those willing to travel more than 15 minutes have endless choices, but our favorite is having dinner with our feet in the sand at the Sandbar Restaurant in Anna Maria Island.
The Carriage House is an ideal destination for a romantic getaway. For those needing more space, however, we have a larger unit of equal quality on the same property. The Devonshire Bungalow is a newly renovated two bedroom, 1300 sq. ft. house. Refer to VRBO Listing # 995708 for additional information.

Quick walk to all downtown locations. A wonderful one bedroom with modern kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for a couple. Highly recommend.
It was a pleasure meeting both of you. We’re so glad you enjoyed your six-week stay with us in Sarasota.
Compact, up-to-date, clean, and efficient space that is nicely decorated. We loved the neighborhood atmosphere and being able to walk to Selby Gardens, Burns and Towles Courts, theatres, the Bay and Main Street. Susan and Jerry were very responsive. Sarasota has been a lovely winter respite. Lots to activities in Sarasota.
It was such a pleasure hosting Nancy and Dean! They never complained, but gave us constructive criticism that helped us become, we hope, better hosts.
They already have planned another stay with us, and we look forward to seeing them again.
