Charming Light-Filled, New Contemporary Mexican Casita in Col. San Antonio
average rating of 4.5 based on 10 reviews

We loved our little casita! It is bright and clean and very comfortable. Super patio which made its small size totally liveable. It’s very well planned and laid out, the two of us did just fine, a testament to the careful planning of the architect. It was a colder than usual month while we were there (and this coming from Canadians!) but the sun hits it by 10am and prior to that, the little gas fireplac did the trick.

Connie, the housekeeper, will treat you very well. It was walking distance to the Centro for us and while I would always recommend you keep your wits about you, the street felt very safe.

Owner's Response: Yes, we did put a lot of thought into the design, layout and lighting--including abundant natural light--into Casita de la Luz. It's so nice to hear that it was appreciated by these wonderful guests! Connie is a sweetheart. I am so fortunate to have her as an employee. Would love to have you stay again, Jennifer!

Property is clean, well-appointed and fit our needs for a week.

  • 5 of 5

We were walking distance to El Centro; however, we often took a cab back due to carrying items and being tired. The cobblestone walk is something we got used to. Many restaurants are quite near the casita. Cleaning services, advice, and shuttle ordering for airport return were all very helpful. With lots of windows we were able to let the cool air in. No A/C needed. Bed was very comfortable. The patio was very large and provided almost double the living space as the casita itself. We had friends over for wine and were quite comfortable. If we returned to this property, and stayed longer, we would get a 2 bedroom ground floor casita. The steps add to the long walk to the back of the property. (We are over 65. Don´t let the walk bother you.:))

Lovely and comfortable little casita

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this pretty casita for two weeks and it was everything we had hoped for. It's small, which is apparent from the photos, but perfectly comfortable for two people. The terrace outside the bedroom is a real plus, as is the washer/dryer and the UV filtered water. No need to buy bottled water for anything! Owner Patricia was the most responsive VRBO host we've ever dealt with and Coni the housekeeper is a gem. Only a 10 minute walk to Ancho with restaurants, stores and shops, and about 15 minutes to Centro. Nice neighborhood, no reason to ever feel uncomfortable stepping outside. We highly recommend it!

Comfortable, bright, charming apartment with terrace

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our first-time foray into San Miguel de Allende, enhanced by our stay at this pleasant apartment aptly named Casita de la Luz. Located in a flat part of the city, the apartment is an easy walk to a bustling mercado and a 20-minute gentle uphill climb to the centro. Patricia and her property management staff are extremely welcoming and helpful in answering inquiries and being available for check-in and check-out. Thrice-weekly housekeeping services were much appreciated, and the sunny terrace provided a warm "annex" on cooler days. We would happily stay here again!

Lovely apartment but too far away from Centro

  • 3 of 5

The apartment is lovely, the owner Patricia and her management company are all great. But for me it was too far from Centro, as its a 600 feet elevation, no matter which street you take; its definitely not a relatively flat walk as stated in add. Its also not a pretty neighborhood, as view from the apartment has rather dilapidated buildings, quite a bit of noise from the neighbors when I was staying e.g. wood sanding machines, and the usual noisy dogs barking all night; and roosters will make sure you are awake early. The end of the block is a very poluted stream. The neighborhood is being slowed renovated by the looks of some colored houses that are around the corner. There is lots of security for the building which made me wonder how safe the neighborhood really is. I did not venture out at night. It was just too far from restaurants and shops for me.

Delightful casita

  • 5 of 5

It was cozy and comfortable. Lots of light in all the rooms. We loved the rooftop deck, especially for watching the Independence Day fireworks. Kitchen was well equipped, too.
