Our place is close to Mount Lamborn which provides beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The location was a goat dairy previously but the goat farm has recently been disbanded. However, the cabin is in a great location to simply enjoy the solitude of the countryside. You’ll love our place because of the views, the location and the ambiance.. The cabin is great for couples, bikers, cyclists, fisherman, hunters, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).

Beautiful scenery and perfectly rustic
The cabin could not have been more quaint. We loved the style and the location. You are away from it all but only 10mins from town. The views were stunning! The two doggies were an absolute treat and my kiddos could not get enough of them...they were ready to take them home! They greeted us when we arrived and never left the perimeter of the cabin the entire time we were there. Special spot!
A cute cabin in a great location, this has the rustic flare for sure. The Flintstone-style shower (it's all river rock in concrete) was really cool and the fresh air and big sky are very refreshing. The visit from Grizzly, one of the LGDs was fun..he's a lover. It worked for us, traveling with three adult-sized boys, but cleanliness was not its best point, let's just say. I knocked off the two stars for that reason---it was clear it has not had a thorough cleaning in some time. Mice and spiders like these kinds of places, and are not a surprise, but cleaning up sign of them would be a good idea, as not all visitors appreciate that level of "rustic appeal", especially when it could be reasonably remedied. Other than that, this little gem has charm and should be able to be worthy of 5 stars.
step back in time but not quality
This treasure of a cabin is a design gem. Clearly, this is not an old place, but was built in the style of old ranch houses with aged wood, antiques, and an old style kitchen that still manages to have up to date amenities, including an espresso maker. No dishwasher, but that actually added to the charm. Our two boys LOVED sleeping and playing in the loft. Probably not good for a child under 5 due to the ladder. Gorgeous scenery. Like coming to Colorado in the 1940s. We were even greeted by two gentle St. Bernards. This quaint hide-away definitely gave us the feeling of getting away from it all.
An amazing location.
After reading the multiple 5 star reviews on AirBNB we booked this cabin for 3 nights for myself, wife and 9 year old son. The location is fantastic. Situated at the center of the now-defunct 75 acre Avalanche goat farm, there isn't a neighbor anywhere near you. It's truly serene.
After some initial issues with the cleanliness of the cabin that were quickly resolved by Stu the manager, we enjoyed our stay.
While the description states it sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms, 4 of those beds are mattresses on the floor in the loft.
There is no dish washer nor microwave. All dishes must be washed by hand.
We would stay here again if the owner invests in a professional cleaning crew as $200 per night in Paonia is a premium.
More than what you see in the photos!
This little gem of a cabin has so much more to offer than what you see in the photos. Yes, the cabin is insanely cool in a setting your eyes won't believe. Mt. Lamborn looms above it and the mesas surround it, creating a majestic feeling of both endless space and that feeling of being tiny speck in a huge, mystical, magical world.
The door opens into the living room, which is cozy as can be with windows showing you the mountains and surrounding fields. And to the right is the kitchen, which is fully stocked with every utensil and kitchen tool you need. We made burgers on the grill one night and pizza the second night and we were not wanting for anything at all.
The bedrooms were so comfortable and the bedding was top quality. Our ten year old daughter loved the loft immediately and claimed it as her own. The bathroom was super cool. The shower was immediately hot and totally satisfying. The WiFi was solid and much appreciated since we didn't have it for several previous days on our adventure.
The thing you don't see in the photo is the absolute love and peace and simplicity of this place. While the goats themselves are gone, we were treated by brilliantly blue birds flying around the house and fields in small flocks. There were numerous other birds, which I couldn't identify, but it was life abundant. Two guardian livestock dogs came to visit - Grizzly and Bear. They were especially fond of my daughter and rolled around on the ground with her for a long time, all the while listening attentively for any danger.
The highlight of our trip were the neighboring horses. The dogs made us aware that they were there, right across the field. So we walked over and they came right up to the fence for pets and talks. They stayed there for more than two hours with us!
The stars, I'm sure, would have been incredible, but it was cloudy or raining when we were there. The peace though, and quiet and the simply nature of just being really made this cabin special and the trip whole!
