Our place is close to Mount Lamborn which provides beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The location was a goat dairy previously but the goat farm has recently been disbanded. However, the cabin is in a great location to simply enjoy the solitude of the countryside. You’ll love our place because of the views, the location and the ambiance.. The cabin is great for couples, bikers, cyclists, fisherman, hunters, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).

This was a winner!
Brought my girlfriend out here as a surprise after proposing to her and I think I maxed out the possible amount of brownie points by getting this place. First off, the location was perfect for getting away. It's secluded and is surrounded by incredible views. Mount Lamborn is a great backdrop. The interior is a perfect blend of rustic/antique but nice, not worn out. The owner, Stu, helped make my now fiance feel even more special by providing beautiful fresh flowers on the table (didn't even ask for that) and a cold bottle of champagne. Incredible place and fantastic service made our weekend better than we could have anticipated.
Everything you need and then some!
We stayed at this great location recently and had a wonderful time! The cabin offers all the modern conveniences with a rustic charm. To top it all off, the local pups stopped by for a visit and our kids now “need” a St. Bernard 😂 We are excited to return and stay a few nights next time.
Beautiful scenery and perfectly rustic
The cabin could not have been more quaint. We loved the style and the location. You are away from it all but only 10mins from town. The views were stunning! The two doggies were an absolute treat and my kiddos could not get enough of them...they were ready to take them home! They greeted us when we arrived and never left the perimeter of the cabin the entire time we were there. Special spot!
A cute cabin in a great location, this has the rustic flare for sure. The Flintstone-style shower (it's all river rock in concrete) was really cool and the fresh air and big sky are very refreshing. The visit from Grizzly, one of the LGDs was fun..he's a lover. It worked for us, traveling with three adult-sized boys, but cleanliness was not its best point, let's just say. I knocked off the two stars for that reason---it was clear it has not had a thorough cleaning in some time. Mice and spiders like these kinds of places, and are not a surprise, but cleaning up sign of them would be a good idea, as not all visitors appreciate that level of "rustic appeal", especially when it could be reasonably remedied. Other than that, this little gem has charm and should be able to be worthy of 5 stars.
What a wonderful, remote getaway!
I was able to book this cabin for one night and man, do I wish I could have stayed for a week! My boyfriend and I stayed to get out of Denver for a night. If you’re coming from the East side of the state, the drive is magnificent. The cabin itself is in a small, farming community and is tucked away on a private dirt road. It sits between several farms and you’ll get to enjoy the neighbor dogs visiting! They are so sweet! There are lots of cows nearby as well and a very close goat farm. I highly recommend stopping to get some cheese and play with the goats. We were lucky enough to stay on a clear night and the stars were breathtaking.
The cabin interior is beautiful. Up to date features and air conditioning units. The bed is firm, but not too much so. They also provide nice curtains that block out most light. The shower is a large stone walk-in and it’s absolutely amazing. We were warned about flies possibly being in the cabin due to the heat by Stu, and there were some. They provided a couple fly swatters though, and we were able to get the few taken care of. The view from the cabin is absolutely stunning. Grilling in the back of the cabin with such an amazing Mountain View was truly a treat.
Downtown Paonia is a short 10 minute drive away. It’s a charming little block with some cute shops. We were able to find a diner there for some yummy breakfast too!
All in all, I honestly can’t wait to return. It was a relaxing, enjoyable stay!
step back in time but not quality
This treasure of a cabin is a design gem. Clearly, this is not an old place, but was built in the style of old ranch houses with aged wood, antiques, and an old style kitchen that still manages to have up to date amenities, including an espresso maker. No dishwasher, but that actually added to the charm. Our two boys LOVED sleeping and playing in the loft. Probably not good for a child under 5 due to the ladder. Gorgeous scenery. Like coming to Colorado in the 1940s. We were even greeted by two gentle St. Bernards. This quaint hide-away definitely gave us the feeling of getting away from it all.
