About the property

Family Cabin with hot tub, just minutes from Mt. Rainier National Park

Enjoy this restful retreat in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, located just outside the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. The property is sunny with nice views. It's a short walk to the glacially-fed Nisqually River, where you can stroll along the levee, right into the National Park.

The cabin is modest, but updated, warm and inviting, with an open common room featuring a wood stove, as well as a kitchen and dining table. Also downstairs is a TV room, full bath, and private bedroom with queen bed. Upstairs, you'll find a large common loft with four single beds, as well as a private suite with two connected sleeping spaces, one with a double bed and one with a child's bed, and a half bath.

Outdoors, there is a picnic table and fire pit. The hot tub is easily accessed on the back porch, with fencing for privacy.

We provide wood for the fire pit and/or wood stove, though there are also electric wall heaters in case you don't wish to use the wood stove.

The kitchen has a small oven with stovetop, a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and everything you'll need for cooking and eating your own meals, including a coffee pot and wine glasses.

We provide towels, and linens/blankets for beds. There is also a small washer and dryer in the utility room.

Riversong Retreat is 2,000 feet above sea level, and is located in the small, wooded community of Nisqually Park, just outside the Nisqually entrance to the National Park.

About Sean Taschner & Lilith Piri

I live in Tacoma, Washington with my wife Lilith and our three kids. One of our favorite destinations in the winter is Maui. In the summer we tend to stick to close to home. You can't beat the sunny and dry summers of the Pacific Northwest.

I am an attorney and bought Riversong Retreat in 2013. After spending years remodeling it on the weekends, it is finally time to share our beloved getaway with others.

We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the cabin.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and well stocked with the basics to make our night stay very pleasant. It made a great base for us to use to access the very nearby entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. It was nice to have just about all the comforts of home (grill, hot tub, fire pit, warm showers) after a full day hiking trails in the park. The communication from the owners was great. They have a book of visitor instructions that was very helpful and tips that made our stay in Ashford even better. The kitchen was well stocked with dishware and utensils (could of used a cheese slicer and ice cream scoop, but that is a very minor issue!) We had a great stay and would stay here again on the next visit to the park. Thanks for all the attention you've made to details. It made our stay very, very nice!

Fantastic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in the cabin. It was so quiet except for the relaxing sound of the river flowing. The communication from the owner was great and the proximity to the park entrance was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location and wonderful atmosphere

  • 5 of 5

This property is about a mile from the entrance to the national park and a few minutes walk to the Nisqually River. My party of 8 really enjoyed the stay. The hot tub is definitely a plus after a long day of hiking.

Amazing. Just like how it is in pictures.

Plenty of space and very comfortable. Everyone had an amazing time and no one felt cramped. The deer really do come up to you which was so much fun! The cabin warmed up very fast which was perfect for the 45 degree weather throughout our stay. All in all everything was perfectly set up for a nice get away.

Wonderful Getaway Destination!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was a great “home” base. Whether we were coming back from hiking Mt. Rainier or needing a rest after a day in Seattle, the cabin was accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful and the owners were helpful no matter the day or time!
