The Telegraph Station is both convenient and historic!. A great stay!
12/30/2015 - We stayed at The Telegraph Station for one evening in late December. This rental is in a great location. It’s about a 7 minute drive to Gruene Hall which was perfect as we had tickets to a concert there. Upon arriving at The Telegraph Station, we were met by a sweet family of deer in the parking area. They ran off pretty quickly but it was lovely to see. We found the property nicely lit up and the heater already on and warming the condo. It was so welcoming to walk into a cozy, warm and nicely lit space. The furnishings are just lovely and well put together. The owners have done a beautiful job of mixing what looks to be original structure with modernized conveniences and interior design. The bed was very comfortable with silky soft sheets. Everything was clean, well lit and so inviting. There is even a convenient back door close to the parking space for easy unloading and reloading of your belongings. The front porch was lovely to sit on and enjoy a cup a coffee and a conversation. You feel like you’ve stepped back in time. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to recommending it to all our friends! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
# 570556 Capitol Hill, Washington, District of Columbia, USA, 1 BR, 1 BA, APARTMENT
The perfect location to stay while touring Washington D.C.
12/21/2015 - Location, location, location! This apartment was six blocks from the Capitol building, which could be easily seen just down the street. There were plenty of breakfast and lunch options nearby, as well as a Metro station that could take you anywhere else in DC. The Capitol Hill area felt very safe and we were never concerned coming home late at night. Knowing the owners live just upstairs was an added bonus and made us feel even more secure staying here. This property was the perfect size for a getaway for two. It was cozy without being cramped, and the updates to the kitchen and bath gave the apartment a very modern feel. The bathroom was artfully designed, with clean white tile and a beautiful pedestal sink. The shower had good water pressure, the bed was comfortable, and the apartment was stocked with every amenity we could need. Our entire stay felt very luxurious! John and Jeff left an extensive welcome packet with information on restaurants and attractions nearby, which was extremely helpful in planning our days. We especially appreciated the nearby local restaurant recommendations. John and Jeff were easy to work with and obviously go above and beyond for their guests, leaving both an email address and phone numbers to reach them at any time. We would definitely stay here again!
# 335569 Windsor Palms (formerly Wyndham Palms), Kissimmee Central West, Kissimmee, Central-Disney-Orlando Area, Florida, USA, 4 BR, 3 BA, VILLA
You will enjoy the location and wonderful pool and hot tub.
12/21/2015 - Great location! Amazing pool/hot tub! Family friendly and fun for all ages! We spent 4 fun-filled nights at this house in Orlando. We wanted a home that was spacious, allowed for cooking meals, had a pool and hot tub, and was close to Disney and Universal Studios. We found all these amenities and more at this Windsor Palms home. Upon arrival, the home was perfectly clean and welcoming. The rooms were just as pictured. The pool/hot tub and outdoor area was visible and welcoming. We really wanted a place that we could cook meals, and we were able to cook everything we wanted at this home. The grill was great as well as the kitchen and utensils provided. The home is very close to restaurants, grocery, and shopping options. When we were ready to go to the park, Disney and Universal Studios were within miles, and took less than half an hour to get to. After a long day at the park, the hot tub and heated pool felt amazing. We spent many nights lounging outside in the screened in area, never having to worry about pesky Florida mosquitoes. When we weren’t spending time outside, we were busy playing games! Board games, a pool table, and an air hockey table were all provided. Even though we didn’t want to leave, at least it was a short 20 minute drive to the airport! We had so much fun and can’t wait to plan our next trip to this clean, fun-filled, perfectly located home in Florida.
# 163627 St. Pete Beach, Florida Central West, Florida, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, COTTAGE
A relaxing place to stay while enjoying St. Pete Beach!!
12/15/2015 - What a delightful stay at St. Pete Beach! I can’t think of a better way to describe this house than “charming.” The owner was extremely responsive, quick, and accommodating throughout the entire process and we had a wonderful vacation. When we arrived, she was there to meet us personally and show us around. There was a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge plus some muffins for breakfast, and other goodies to help us enjoy our stay. The house itself is very warm and cute, with more than enough space to live and sleep, and some DVDs to watch when we needed a break. Both of my kids were able to have their own beds which was great! There is an entirely separate garage loft that has 3 beds and a kitchen sink that my friends used as their “guest cottage.” It was the perfect amount of communion and privacy if you have multiple couples/families staying. There are two porches, a more private back porch where we ate and were able to enjoy the sunny December weather. There is also a front porch with chairs and a lovely hammock where we watched the meteor shower at night. Extremely relaxing! We felt very secluded with foliage blocking the street and sidewalk out front. The neighborhood has a lovely beach vibe, with beach shops, ice cream parlors, and a beachfront cafe (for breakfast) with live music on Sunday mornings. Perfect for enjoying some food, coffee, music, and letting the kids run on the beach. There are plenty of lunch places to eat, and even, surprisingly, a delicious raw food cafe if you’re wanting to balance your fish and shrimp consumption. The beach is exquisite, we enjoyed walking on the soft white sand. Swimming in December was a little chilly but we did it anyway and had a blast. We were rewarded by finding many sea creatures. The calm sea was perfect for the kids to play in. When we were done swimming, we used the many beach balls, Frisbees, sand buckets, and comfortable beach chairs included in the garage of the rental. There are even a few bikes to use as well. I couldn’t have asked for more or a more beautiful and welcoming place to spend our long weekend. Thanks Pass-a-grille!
# 511596 Estes Park, Front Range, Colorado, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, HOUSE
A wonderful place to stay in Estes Park.
12/07/2015 - We spent a long weekend in a cozy cabin with great views of the surrounding mountains. It was a peaceful and beautiful setting for a visit. When we first arrived, there were elk in the front yard. The owner, Jason, left special treats for our arrival and was helpful with our questions. We arrived during the quiet season in Estes Park, after a recent snowfall, so there was still snow on the ground. We walked down the street to the local bar and grill (Cables), where we met several of the locals and had a good time. The cabin was close to shopping and downtown, and a short drive from the Rocky Mountain National Park. Just a great location. After a day out, we enjoyed the relaxing jacuzzi tub. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking oils and spices and all the pots and pans we could need. We prepared several meals at home. The living room was cozy and the loft upstairs sleeps two. Two more could sleep in the living room sofa which opens up into a bed. The deck outside looked like it would be awesome in warmer weather, but it was cold enough that we mostly stayed inside. We had a great vacation in the mountains and are planning our next trip.
# 238274 Suches, Northeast Mountains, Georgia, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, CABIN
Enjoy this beautiful cabin and the wrap-around porch.
11/30/2015 - We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this beautiful cabin in the mountains. Driving to the cabin we had spectacular views of the mountains. The cabin is larger than we imagined with a nice driveway and well maintained lawn. There is an amazing wrap around porch that stretches from front to back and includes an outside table for meals or playing games and plenty of seating. When we walked in the front door we realized the owners love this cabin and care about their guests. It’s well decorated with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped, has a charming gas fireplace in the living room and the view of the river is stunning. All the bedrooms have wonderful beds and furniture. The jacuzzi tub upstairs was relaxing after hiking all day, and the sauna is great! Upstairs we found a ping pong table and really fun arcade golf game. We spent much of our time enjoying the deck over the river out back, sitting by the fire pit with spectacular views of the stars, playing horseshoes and catching some giant trout (fishing poles were supplied). The area has great hikes (including part of the Appalachian Trail) and we loved the waterfalls and beautiful scenic drives. Several charming towns are nearby, including Blairsville. We had fun at Mercier Orchards at Blue Ridge, Georgia, and we enjoyed the copper mining museum in Ducktown, Tennessee. Springer Mountain with an elevation of 3,780' has stunning views and definitely worth seeing. Of course good trout fishing is everywhere. The owners of this cabin have thought of every detail to make your stay magnificent, the cabin is amazing!
# 614890 Midtown, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, APARTMENT
The Empire State building is just down the street.
11/30/2015 - The owner of the apartment met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the unit, which was larger than I had imagined (and from what I've seen, a NY rarity). The layout provided plenty of space for me and my two daughters. The private back patio/garden was the perfect spot for enjoying our morning coffee or an evening cocktail. Having two bathrooms was an extra plus for the three of us ladies. The unit was clean, well stocked with linens, pillows and towels, and the gorgeous kitchen contained a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, electric tea kettle, microwave, flatware, stemware, dishes, pots and pans, even a food processor. The location couldn’t be more perfect and the unit was extremely quiet and private. The Empire State Building is just down the street and Fifth Avenue is footsteps away. In a few short minutes we walked to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden, Central Park, and so many other wonderful places. When we were tired of walking, we hopped on the train that was located just around the corner, or strolled to Grand Central Station which was only a few blocks away, which meant we could literally be in anywhere in the city in no time at all and enjoy all sights the city has to offer. We visited Wall Street, the Freedom Tower, Greenwich Village, Lincoln Center, Union Square, the High Line, Chelsea Market, took a ferry to Ellis Island to see the Statute of Liberty and numerous museums. We felt extremely safe, as there is a gate at the street entrance, a door into the entry hall and another door into the unit (all with deadbolts). Having wireless internet, and cable TV in the living room and in the bedroom, meant we could spread out and enjoy some private moments. I will definitely be recommending this as the “go to” place for anyone headed to NYC. Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality!
# 378777 Sant Marti, Barcelona, Barcelona Province, Catalunya, Spain, Europe, 3 BR, 2 BA, APARTMENT
Great location and spacious flat in Barcelona.
11/27/2015 - We stayed at this flat along with friends (two couples) and had an awesome trip. The flat is in a perfect location, near the Olympic village, by the edge of the center of Barcelona. You can walk to the Metro Station in 5 minutes, and in 2 stops you are in the heart of Barcelona. It’s also only one block from the beach. We could easily visit all the tourist sites and entertainment. There are grocery stores along the street and it’s very convenient for picking up daily supplies. This flat backs to a green space, very quiet for sleeping. The flat was renovated recently and the kitchen and bathrooms are unusually spacious in an EU city. Valentin, the owner, came to meet us at the apartment and chatted with us. He also gave us pointers where the best tapas places are -we greatly appreciated the tips since we are all foodies. In short, this place is a gem and we are definitely going to stay here again when we come back!
# 378687 Budapest, Hungary, Europe, 1 BR, 0 BA, APARTMENT
Great location, full kitchen and all the conveniences of home.
11/21/2015 - My wife and I enjoyed a week long stay at Rita and Ken’s Budapad in Hungary. Their apartment offers many unique opportunities to see the city as its location is near the opera, and within a 15 minute walk of the parliament building, St Stephen’s Basilica and the chain bridge which leads to Buda Castle, St Matthias Church and much more. They offer many great amenities including free wifi, a very comfortable bed, a full kitchen, and a bathtub fit for a king. There is also a laundry machine that you can use to clean your clothes! The guest book was brimming with the recommendations for the best tours, sites to see, tips for using the public transportation, restaurants to try and things to do in Budapest. It would take weeks to do everything listed in the book, but I wish we'd had the time to do it all! I would highly recommend anyone traveling to Budapest stay at this property!
# 377898 Budapest, Hungary, Europe, 2 BR, 1 BA, APARTMENT
Beautiful and spacious place to stay in Budapest.
11/21/2015 - Our stay at this apartment in Budapest was perfect. Our host and property manager were friendly, accommodating and helpful from the beginning to the very end. The flat is beautifully furnished, spacious and in an excellent location - right between Raday Street and the very popular Central Market Hall. We had so many sites, restaurants and opportunities at our fingertips with this location. The two-bed, 1.5 bath home provided perfect accommodations for two, but is absolutely suited for four, complete with laundry facilities, extra closet space, a cute little balcony and a full kitchen. Budapest is a beautiful city with a fascinating history; this apartment is perfectly suited to explore such a unique European gem.
# 503416 Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio Area, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Central America, 4 BR, 4 BA, VILLA
Great location with a pool and even a private chef.
11/20/2015 - Villa Tortuga is the dream vacation! I became a HomeAway/VRBO employee because traveling is my passion – I have traveled all over the world and lived abroad for over a year. I searched long and hard for the optimal place to take my vacation with 10 adventure-loving friends, and Villa Tortuga offered everything that we were looking for: great location, plenty of space, beautiful environment, pool and amenities. The private chef & housecleaning services made it impossible to resist! I can easily say without any hesitation, that my experience at Villa Tortuga was one of the best (perhaps the VERY best) travel experience I have ever had. The exceptional staff at Villa Tortuga made our travel stress-free and seamless. Victor, the concierge manager, presented us with the most popular options for Costa Rican attractions, booked all of our excursions, and facilitated the transport. We were fed like royalty – I have never eaten that well in my life. The chefs were an absolute pleasure to be around and every dish they made was fit for a gourmet restaurant. I lived in Italy for a year and they served me the best risotto I have ever tasted. The villa was absolutely beautiful and had plenty of room and amenities. It is ideal for any sort of guest – families, honeymooners, retreats, friend groups.. anybody! We were all so impressed with the villa, the location, and the staff – there is truly not a single negative comment to make. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone and everyone. I will certainly be planning a trip back!
# 655588 Kahana, West Maui, Maui, Hawaii, USA, 1 BR, 1 BA, CONDO
You will not want to leave once you see the views from this Maui condo.
11/13/2015 - What a wonderful spot for a couple’s getaway! This was our first trip to Maui and the accommodations could not have been better. This condo is modern and comfortable. You are right on the ocean and have access to the beach, the pool, and plenty of lawn chairs to soak up the sun. Also, the view is amazing! The entire experience was very relaxing. We enjoyed spending time on the lanai reading, sipping coffee, and staring off into the sea. It may be warm out but you never get too hot with the cool ocean breeze. The condo is walking distance to a handful of restaurants including the Maui Brewing Company, Miso Fat for Sushi, and wonderful coffee at the Hawaiian Village Coffee shop. You can also stock up at the Whalers General Store or the farmers market. The location is perfect because you are close to it all, but also tucked away in a quiet complex. It is only a short drive to the Napili and Kapulua Beaches which are well known to be some of the nicest on the island. They both have soft sand and plenty of opportunities for spotting turtles and fish. The condo also comes with beach chairs, towels, and an umbrella for shade. We loved the comforts of this condo which included wood floors and updated carpet in the bedroom. There are flat screen TVs in the living and bedroom and the kitchen includes coffee supplies and high end cooking utensils. The linens are soft and the bed is comfortable. All in all, these amenities are very much appreciated in your home away from home. We wish we never had to leave, but we’ll definitely be back!
# 286157 Placencia Village, Placencia Peninsula, Belize, Caribbean, 5 BR, 4 BA, HOUSE
This is paradise in Belize!!! You will love it!
11/07/2015 - What is there to say about Villa Tipsy Gecko except, wow! From the moment we arrived in our Belizean paradise, until the minute we departed, the Tipsy Gecko staff made sure this bear was one happy cub! To begin, our cave was nothing short of spectacular. Every bear needs water, and this bear had not only a refreshing pool, but the entire Caribbean just outside the back door. The cave itself was perfect. As days tend to get hot in Belize, we appreciated the air conditioning. It made coming indoors for a bit of hibernation a great pleasure. Everyone knows bears love to eat…and this bear was never disappointed. Domingo and Manuel were our 5 star chefs. We were lucky, we had these two cooking for us on three separate days; breakfast, lunch and dinner. All were wonderful. Oh, and did I mention desserts? Ours were all home made! Domingo went out of his way to take grocery requests before he left for town. His communication before, during and after our stay was Bearrific!! The rest of the staff was just as outstanding. Javier was our ride to and from the airport (and even once into town) and delivered fishing rods. Mabel, our concierge, took care of our every whim. She was super helpful - including greeting us upon arrival, touring the home with us, and she immediately set us in the right direction by finding and booking our excursions. She arranged for massages to happen at the home, referred us to TOP NOTCH tour guides and checked in often in case we had a need. Mabel is a GEM, and a great resource for our time here. The staff took great care of us; keeping the cave clean and having our clothes freshly laundered every day. The pool and grounds were meticulously cared for; we often saw Tipsy Gecko staff quietly tending to the needs of the home and grounds to keep it pretty. To sum it all up, it takes a lot to make me a happy bear, but Villa Tipsy Gecko, you made a Belizer out of me!
# 369268 Carmel By the Sea, Central Coast, California, USA, 3 BR, 3 BA, HOUSE
Enjoying the views and making memories in Carmel.
10/31/2015 - The VRBO Bear stayed in Carmel! My friend and I were fortunate to secure this immaculate property right off the Monterey Bay. The owners were very responsive and accommodating on short notice. We were glad to know they have a local contact if anything is needed. The house was beautiful, everything was provided. Laundry, coffee, ironing, basic toiletries were there. A hot tub to stare up at the stars, a patio overlooking the crashing waves. Several bedrooms. Beautiful artwork throughout the home. The owners provide local guides to explore the city, but if you’re in the mood to stay in, you’ll find several TV's, couches for relaxing, and an expansive living room area with multimedia instructions. I'll be framing a picture of our view looking to the west from the home. This view oversees the beautiful landscaping along this pristine street in Carmel. It's a vacation spot forever in our memories.
# 396338 Rockaway Beach, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, TOWNHOME
Nothing beats the beauty of the Oregon coast -see for yourself!
10/25/2015 - I enjoyed every minute of this vacation; from the beautiful scenic drive to Rockaway Beach until our trip back through the beautiful Tillamook State Forest. Nothing makes a trip to the beautiful Oregon coast complete quite like a relaxing, beautiful, perfectly maintained town home to stay in. I was really impressed at the care that was put into making this vacation rental such a wonderful place to stay. Everything we needed was already stocked and waiting for us. Every floor of the townhome has great natural lighting and an unforgettable view. The main level den/bar and a garage were just icing on the cake of this wonderful townhome. I truly feel that this rental would be well suited from anyone looking for an escape to a nice quiet relaxing coastal town. I loved the location with Tillamook just down the road and Astoria an easy day trip towards the north. I was blown away by the parks and scenic lookouts along the way to these amazing tourist destinations. We also enjoyed Hug Point State Park, it will always have a special place in my heart. If you have never been to the Pacific Northwest and want an experience of a lifetime I highly recommend you try out this vacation rental. Thank you so much for opening your doors and sharing your home with me.
# 273238 Sevierville, East, Tennessee, USA, 3 BR, 3 BA, CABIN
Great location and views from atop the mountain.
10/24/2015 - We enjoyed our time at the wonderful two-story “Southern Charms” cabin. This fully-furnished, authentic log cabin has a mountain view from the main wrap around deck and the upper balcony view is absolutely awesome, especially in the fall. The cabin is in a great location, close enough to the main town and yet just far enough away to feel like you are in a secluded area away from the noise and traffic of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The interior of the cabin has a nice layout, looked professionally decorated and had plenty of extras. We spent a lot of time enjoying the hot tub, pool table and very nice entertainment center. The main living area is spacious and inviting. The three bedrooms in the cabin are furnished with comfortable, large beds, TVs and easily accessible bathrooms with Wifi connectivity throughout. The kitchen is great for making meals and had all of the appliances necessary to do the job. The porch around the entrance to the cabin had a great view with seating around the perimeter. It was a great area to enjoy the view and relax in the morning and evening. Most days we spent hanging out at the cabin and enjoying the quiet before heading to town to visit some of the popular tourist attractions. The area around the cabin was very nice as well. Southern Charms sits atop a mountain, and navigating between town and the cabin was very simple. The main town is filled with great restaurants and tons of attractions for all ages. The welcome information at the cabin provided coupons and information about the area that we found most helpful. Elayne, the owner of the cabin, was very helpful and proactive in making sure that we were informed about our trip, the area and the cabin itself prior to arrival. We felt like we were staying at a friend’s place. We’d like to thank Elayne for hosting the VRBO Bear and providing a ton of great memories that we’ll share for a long time.
# 319367 Singleton Beach, Folly Field, Island Areas, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA, 5 BR, 5 BA, HOUSE
A wonderful place to stay on Hilton Head Island. You will love it!!!
10/24/2015 - When the bear heard that a spacious property on Hilton Head Island was available in early fall, he knew he had to visit. And with 3 roomy master bedrooms with comfortable king sized beds and 2 other bedrooms with a queen and at least two twins each, he also knew he should bring along a group of his closest friends. The bear chose to travel with a party of 3 couples and 2 young families, including 2 very young cubs. Knowing there would be plenty of beds to accommodate the group, he was still surprised by the comfort and seclusion of each bedroom. Upon entering the front door, the high ceilings and generous dimensions of the combined area of the kitchen, dining area, and living room were impressive. The furniture in the living room was nice and very comfortable. There was so much room the families had no trouble spreading out. With a foosball table and large TV on the 2nd floor and a roof-top patio, there were plenty of living spaces in the house. The kitchen, with its large gas range, spacious oven, large granite topped island, and deep, hammered copper sink, provided more than we could have asked for. The chefs of the group were well equipped to produce tasty and enjoyable meals. If you are looking to enjoy food with some of your closest friends while vacationing in Hilton Head Island, this kitchen has everything you need for even the most daring chefs. You also will have access to a large gas grill by the patio for cooking out your favorite grilled foods. The bear couldn’t have been happier with his stay. He will certainly plan on seeing this property is available on future trips to Hilton Head Island.
# 432534 Glen Rose, Prairies & Lakes, Texas, USA, 5 BR, 2 BA, HOUSE
This beautiful ranch has plenty of space and the views are AMAZING!
10/18/2015 - This property is in a great location for family/friend gatherings and is just such a beautiful place! We invited our dear friends and their kids to join us. They told me how awesome the house and views were as soon as they arrived. The pictures don’t do justice to this eclectic house with each space/room having a theme which embodies the spirit of the ranch. We had 6 adults and 6 kids between the ages of 4-12 and the layout of the house gave it a roomy and spacious feel. The front porch views are AMAZING! You can see far off into the valley and a pond with a beautiful huge tree across from the deck. The house has a fully stocked kitchen making it easy for us to cook our own food. The kids loved the space to run and visits to the pond to feed the catfish. If you want to a nice visit to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, it’s just 5 minutes down the road. Sandra the property manager was so nice and greeted us upon our arrival. She took our kids to feed the goats which was a huge hit! She was very knowledgeable about things to do and offered us tickets to the park to purchase at a discount. She also sent us thorough directions to the ranch which saved travel time. There are many well thought of details to make not only the stay enjoyable, but also the journey to this place easy. Our friends and I talked about staying at the ranch again. Oh and next time we will definitely hit the walking/hiking trails.
# 704476 Denver, Denver Metro, Denver Area, Colorado, USA, 2 BR, 2 BA, APARTMENT
A clean, comfortable condo close to everything in Denver.
10/18/2015 - After waking up from hibernation, the VRBO Bear needed some vacation time in Denver, Colorado. I looked at several other rentals in Denver and this one caught my attention because of the great location and beautiful decor. It’s located in the center of downtown Denver just blocks from Coors Field and several great bars and restaurants. A rental car is needed only if you plan to leave downtown and explore the areas outside of Denver. Most of the downtown attractions are walking distance (or a short cab ride) from the condo. The condo itself is extremely nice, exactly as described in the listing. Very clean, comfortable, and well equipped with all of the basic amenities. The beds were comfortable and made it very easy for me to fall into deep bear hibernation every night. The condo is on the 6th floor and has a phenomenal view of downtown Denver off the back patio. We enjoyed waking up and sipping coffee on the patio every morning. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to make great home cooked meals. The living room was spacious and provided the perfect setup to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring Denver and its surrounding areas. We felt right at home and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We made several short day trips to explore the surrounding area and scenic Colorado attractions. Boulder was only a 40 minute drive and we found beautiful hiking spots and really great breweries. I highly recommend hiking the Flatirons if you make it to Boulder. The view from the top of the trail is amazing! We also made time to check out the infamous Red Rocks Amphitheater. We did not see a concert but it was worth the short drive simply to see the beautiful scenery and view from the top of the amphitheater. In addition to the 5 star accommodations, Nate at LUX Denver was an excellent host. He was friendly, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond to our emails. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay while visiting downtown Denver. We had an incredible time and the VRBO Bear will definitely be staying at this rental again in the future!
# 266776 Boatman Point, USVI - St. John, Caribbean, 6 BR, 5 BA, VILLA
Sun, surf and breathtaking views.
10/16/2015 - On the day of check-in Jessy met us at the barge and led us to the Villa. The short drive to the Villa was picturesque. As we entered the property, we were blown away by the location and the unobstructed views of the blue Caribbean! Our favorite times in the Villa were to watch the sunrises with a cup of coffee and feel the strong Caribbean breezes at night. The Villa is very spacious and well-appointed, wonderful for family gatherings or special events. All parts of the Villa had breathtaking views of the ocean and the architecture allowed for plenty of sun and breeze. Its close proximity to Cruz Bay made shopping and dining a breeze. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the coral at world famous Trunk Bay and also visited the nearby Westin. I would highly recommend this Villa for anyone looking for a perfect Caribbean vacation!
# 153472 Avon, Northwest, Colorado, USA, 3 BR, 3 BA, CONDO
Mountain life, complete with a fireplace and a beautiful view!
10/11/2015 - This property is a must-see. A 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom condo nestled in the valley below Beaver Creek in Avon, CO was JUST what we needed for a quick girls’ getaway. We shopped at the nearby grocery store, and cooked many meals in the perfectly-appointed kitchen. On the nights we didn’t cook, we wandered into Vail, went up the hill to Beaver Creek Village or just went into Avon, and found plenty of wonderful places to eat. Some highlights were our visit to the spa at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, just 5 minutes away, and our dinner at 8100 Mountainside Bar and Grill. That said, everything just melted away once we got back to the condo, built a fire, and sat on the balcony overlooking the mountain. We drank coffee in the mornings, wine at night, and enjoyed the cool mountain air. The beds were amazing, with 600 thread count sheets, lots of pillows and fluffy down comforters. There were TVs in every bedroom, and we listened to the new Sonos sound system all the time. Oh, and another favorite perk – the garage fits an SUV. This owner really has thought of everything to make your stay not just comfortable, but also memorable. This bear will definitely be back.
# 712936 Westminster, London, England, Europe, 1 BR, 1 BA, APARTMENT
Great place to stay while checking out London!!
09/25/2015 - This VRBO Bear wanted to drop by London for a week, and boy did I have fun! I was a lone bear this trip and this cozy London flat had much to offer. I had fun climbing the ladder to the sleeping loft and retreating to my comfortable Queen size bed each night. Lots of natural light throughout the apartment and plenty of seating in the living area. There is even a small collection of DVDs if you want to stay in and watch movies.
The kitchen was supplied with some basic amenities. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and pubs that would be a great alternative to dining in, as there is not direct seating for dining.
This place comfortably sleeps two but can sleep up to an additional two guests in the sleeping loft. I would recommend this as an option for children or other bears who are not concerned about cozying up in the cramped space. This is London, so don’t expect the square footage to be spacious – I was out exploring the city so didn’t spend a lot of time in the apartment.
The apartment manager Eva was very friendly. She explained where everything was located in the apartment, even explained how to walk to the tube station and gave me some nearby restaurant/pub/coffee recommendations. She made the check-in and check-out process very easy.
It was a quick walk to the nearby Warwick tube station and only a 15-20 minute tube ride into Central London, which I found to be a very quick commute all around. The neighborhood itself was clean, safe, charming and beautiful. I watched a play at the Victoria Palace Theater and was able to take the tube back to the Warwick stop and felt very safe walking home. Great restaurants and pubs nearby and also an easy place for Ubers or taxis to find.
Thanks Eva for a lovely time in your cozy flat!

Great views and a super location!!!
09/21/2015 - Upon arriving at the property, we were greeted by David, our concierge, and given a tour of our new home for the next five days in San Francisco. Instantly, my group and I fell in love. The view of the city from all sides of the house revealed a beautiful sight of the unique architecture of San Francisco. Outside, there was a great patio area where one could catch the breeze of the bay. When it got a bit chilly, we turned on the hot tub and relaxed as we played music from the surround system in the backyard.
The property is literally in the center of the most vibrant parts of the city. Within walking distance is the Castro District, famous for its history. There, you can go to the Castro Theatre where you can catch very interesting and great programming. My friends and I caught a double feature of "Smooth Talk" and "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me," the latter of which is one of my friend's favorite films. To the east of the rental was the Mission District, a great place to walk around and shop and catch a bite to eat. Grocery stores surround the neighborhood.
The public transportation is easily accessible from this rental as well! Buses are only a block away and subways leading to downtown are only a five minute walk. We were able to go to beach in the afternoon, get dinner downtown, and explore the clubs and bars in Castro easily in one day.
The comfortable beds and sofas alongside the 63" inch plasma screen television were perfect to curl up in and catch some television or Netflix after a long day of walking around the city. Waking up wasn't difficult when we could roll out of bed and feel the cool bay breeze while looking towards the beautiful San Francisco city. Thank you, House of Muse, for the wonderful stay - this Bear can't wait until his next time in San Francisco!

A mountain getaway with everything you will need!
09/21/2015 - The colors are changing in Colorado and this Bear had to go see for himself!
Aspen trees change colors every fall and this wonderful home in Vail turned out to be a great place as our “home base” to go see the all of the wonderful yellow and red leaves! This spacious house was a perfect fit for our group. The oversized Great Room with soft leather couch was almost too comfortable to leave.
We loved taking a hike in during the day time, and cook wonderful meals at night. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and silverware as well as pots and pans. Everything we needed was right there: crock pot, baking dishes, serving pieces, toaster oven, placemats, you name it- we had it. There are two dining tables in the house and it was nice for everyone to have a place to sit. No one had to stand and try to maneuver a plate and a beverage, it worked out so well.
When it comes to bedrooms, there was no lack of space or comfort! All of the bedrooms are oversized with dressers and supersized closets. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets were extra soft. I was so impressed I had to ask the owner where he bought them! This owner really makes an effort to makes his guests feel like “family” with wonderful towels and linens. He provides special makeup removal towels in the bathrooms as well as cotton balls along with shampoo and conditioner.
The eight person hot tub was a real treat for us gals, while our guys played pool. A full bar next to the pool table was nice for making cocktails and the kiddos enjoyed the Wii right around the corner.

Close to the beach and a great stay when visiting Corpus Christi!
09/20/2015 - Hi! VRBO Bear here. Our family found a magnificent gem here in Corpus Christi, TX. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy a relaxing weekend out on the beach. This vacation rental had it all. Upon entry, there was soothing music playing from the downstairs and upstairs TV. We had a family of 7 and there were plenty of beds for all of us. The master bath was huge, big enough to fit our entire family! All the appliances and switches were labeled, so it was easy to get acquainted with the rental. The double balcony was an added bonus with a dining area where guests can eat outside. The views from the condo were amazing.
A short walk from this rental has you on the beach within minutes. It was super convenient for our family. A short drive would get you back into the city for any necessary shopping. The private pools for the complex are nice if you prefer not to swim in the open water. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials which allowed us to cook dinner and breakfast for the whole family. At night, the cable TV came in handy to catch a football game. Instructions to operate all the state-of-the-art machinery was informative.
The owner was very accommodating to all of our needs. He had a very quick response time and made sure our stay was smooth sailing. We will definitely come back to stay at this rental again!

Having fun and just relaxing at this charming old home.
09/19/2015 - We headed out to the country to enjoy some solitude and bask in nature. We bears needed to reconnect with our naturalistic natures and The Yellow Yaus in Gruene was the perfect hideaway. The 106-year-old house with polished wooden floors and open kitchen and living room exuded coziness. Small, delicate touches such as paintings depicting the town’s favorite spots and antique ornaments tickled our senses with delight. The backyard patio was a favorite spot to sit and talk or just relax. The spacious bedrooms beckoned to us to tuck in, as bears usually do, but we had to explore.
The town’s center was only a few minutes’ walk and along the way, we took in the appealing sights. We saw antique shops with trinkets and souvenirs to remember our stay, local restaurants housed in pristine historic buildings, and outside festivals with people strolling around mingling, relishing the last days of summer.
We bears immersed ourselves in the culture of relaxation. Not a care in the world was a strong ambience in the air that we felt as well. The friendliness of the owner, Tom, who came personally to recommend spots to explore, made us feel that we were right at home.
With heavy hearts our wonderful stay came to an end, but we enjoyed it immensely. So too bad, Goldilocks, we bears plan to go back. Don’t get too comfortable.

09/11/2015 - A Bear’s Birthday Stay
We could not have picked a more perfect place to celebrate my best bear friend’s birthday. This condo was more than we expected and we already were in love with it just from the pictures. The pictures do not do it justice. The check-in was a sea breeze and from there all we had on our agenda was rest and relaxation. Cara made the stay so enjoyable by making sure we had everything we needed so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The entire condo had more than enough space. There were 7 of us bears all together and the condo slept each of us comfortably in beds. It was great being able to just enjoy each other’s company and sit down for meals.
We spent almost an hour on the balcony just watching the prettiest sunset we had ever seen. We watched dolphins from the balcony every day and it took just 2 minutes to get to the beach. When you stand on the balcony you feel like you are on the edge of the world with nothing but clear emerald water in front of you. Besides being so close to the beach you are within walking distance of Pier Park which we went to every night to celebrate. Even the locals were welcoming.
I’m fairly certain this bear will be back again.

Relaxing at the pool.
09/06/2015 - Great vacation! We were welcomed with a gift basket full of treats for the whole bear family and a refrigerator with refreshments! The VRBO Bear was in need of a little downtime at the end of the summer. This was the most beautiful and relaxing visit vacation ever.
The house is straight out of a designer magazine, updated, bright and airy, soothing and relaxing colors, hardwood floors throughout and super spacious. Large sliders open the whole house up to the gorgeous back yard pool and canal dock. It's located in the quiet residential end of Anna Maria Island away from the day trippers.
This bear enjoyed spending mornings at the beach a short 2 blocks away, afternoons relaxing on the large outdoor patio enjoying the beautiful landscaping surrounding our large 30 ft saltwater pool, and evenings eating on the patio and picnic table followed by quiet time on the private dock watching the sunset and waiting for the resident manatee to appear.
The bear family found everything they needed was provided for - hotel quality towels, linens and bath amenities, the most organized and efficient kitchen ever, beach towels, beach cart, beach toys and floats. For rainy days, there were plenty of supplies - books, crayons and puzzles. There was even a canoe!
Two separate wings and a separate master gave all of us privacy. The older cubs had their own wing with 2 bedrooms and a shared bath. A pocket door allowed Mama and Papa bear to close out noise. It would be perfect for a holiday visit with our whole family.
The Bear family loved this house. I think Mama Bear cried as we drove away.

Every room has a view!
09/03/2015 - This bear needed a relaxing holiday at the beach with friends and Villa La Vida in Virgin Gorda delivered. The home was better than the photos and the owners really know how to provide a great experience for their guests.
The property is beautifully designed to make the most of both indoor and outdoor living. Every room has a view and outdoor access including the bedrooms, community areas, and game room. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space to be together as a group or off on your own to hide away and read. Add the sunset views everywhere and we were in island heaven.
Our personal favorite was snorkeling around a beautiful reef right from the beach in the back yard. Snorkeling gear was provided in the home. Plus, we enjoyed taking the kayaks out to find another beautiful sandy beach only yards away. The hardest thing we had to do each day was to decide if we wanted to swim, kayak, snorkel, sit on the shaded balcony to read, play in the game room, or hang out in the gourmet kitchen to cook and make fun drinks.
We didn’t need to leave the house to have a great time but we also enjoyed some trips around the island to view the sites and go boating. What a beautiful place to explore! The local concierge was also really helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed. They helped us with pre-trip planning and were also available throughout the trip if we had any questions or needed assistance with any aspect of our stay.
Our trip was a great success and we are so thankful to the homeowners who made it possible. It was so obvious how much care and detail went into the home to ensure their guests have an amazing experience. This bear is happy and I will tell all my bear friends to try it out. Thank you!

Spacious and cozy with a beautiful view!
08/24/2015 - An escape to the mountains was just what this Bear needed as the Summer was nearing its end. As we made the drive into Whistler we were pleased at the close proximity the condominium had to the Sea to Sky Highway and to Whistler Village. After securing our car safely in the underground parking spot we entered into the first floor condo and were met with all the comforts of home. The kitchen was so beautifully upgraded and had everything a Bear could need to prepare proper meals for his family. The dining room had plenty of seating and we enjoyed many evenings of playing board games. The living room windows gave us a pleasant view of the mountains off in the distance and when it got a bit chilly we warmed up quickly by the fireplace. I must say it was tempting to begin hibernating early once we slept in the spacious and cozy bedrooms. The heated floors of the bathrooms were a major perk when our paws got cold.
During the day we ventured down the road and explored the Village and took in the incredible views from the gondolas and mountaintops of Blackcomb and Whistler. The nearby hiking trails, lakes, and waterfalls kept us busy. Having such close access to the trail system throughout Whistler also was a plus. Although we didn't all partake, the braver Bears in our group spent a day at the Mountain Bike park. Definitely an experience to remember!
After the long days outside we loved taking advantage of the outdoor patio, where we would play cards and enjoy the quiet. A definite highlight were the condo amenities located right adjacent to us. We played some games of pool and every night during our stay we relaxed in the hot tub enjoying the beautiful mountain vistas.
Chris and George were excellent hosts and made everything during our stay just as perfect as honey. Us Bears definitely felt at home in Whistler and can't wait to return!

Extraordinary views right from the deck!!!
08/21/2015 - I, the VRBO Bear, had a wonderful time with my bear friends and family at Fred’s lovely St. Augustine beach house!
In the mornings, we headed out to the deck and enjoyed a cup of coffee while taking in the extraordinary ocean views. Once we had some energy, we grabbed the provided beach towels and chairs and walked just a few steps to the private beach. Some days we lost track of time basking in the sun and playing in the waves with the provided boogie boards and kayaks.
When it was time to eat, we had everything we needed to cook delicious meals for all of us hungry bears: a spacious kitchen, plenty of utensils, a fully stocked spice cabinet, and an outdoor grill.
The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the HD television (with lots of channels) was an added bonus for the nights we were worn out after a long day.
The location of the home was absolutely perfect. In the afternoons and evenings, we enjoyed nearby golfing and water front dining (thanks to Fred’s excellent suggestions). Of course, being only a short drive away, we also made several trips to the historic city of St. Augustine for shopping, sightseeing, and even more wonderful dining.
We absolutely loved this vacation rental and can’t wait to go back!
# 471038 North Padre Island, Gulf Coast, Texas, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, VILLA
Beautiful place to stay while at Padre Island, with views of the water.
08/20/2015 - This property was a perfect getaway on the beach at a fantastic villa on the water!
We had two families and this was our first time at Padre Island with our cubs. Upon entering the house, we loved the open floor plan with the kitchen and living area together with a view of the water. The entire house was nicely themed with beach vacation touches like a bowl full of shells that were signed from previous visitors. The master suite also had a great view of the water. The master bathroom was also very nicely decorated and had a extra large shower and whirlpool tub. The other two rooms had comfy full sized beds.
Momma Bear loved the kitchen which was well stocked and had Tupperware for all of our beach picnics. The papa bears enjoyed our time on the back patio by the grill with the cubs doing cannonballs off the pier. We also got to eat out at some fun nearby places, just 5-10 min away. JB's German Bakery for breakfast was delicious. By the coast we hit the popular Snoopies for fried seafood and the cubs made sure we did not forget about the ice cream parlor.
The house is just down the street from the brand new Schlitterbahn Water Park. The highlight of the trip was definitely the wind surfing off of Wild Bird Basin. This was located about 10 minutes away and is one of the top (if not the top) destinations for wind surfing in the USA. It’s shallow water with a sandy bottom so even the cubs tried it out. We enjoyed the beach at Padre Island National Seashore – a 60 mile stretch of beautiful undeveloped beach. There were beach towels, chairs, coolers and toys provided at the house.
During downtime back at the house, there was wifi and cable or the lady bears would just get their fur tanned by the water.
Last but not least, the owner was not only very responsive, but proactive in keeping us informed about our upcoming stay.

Enjoy luxury in Breckenridge Colorado.
08/15/2015 - We could not have been happier with our summer stay at Los Pinos! We loved both the property and its location. Our group contained five adults and two children, and the condo was the perfect size for us. We were able to spend time together in the kitchen/dining/living area and also have privacy in each of the three bed and bathrooms.
The kitchen was full of all of the dishes and equipment we needed, and it was very nice to have the washer and dryer to wash our hiking clothes. The kids loved the bunk beds and playing in the yard outside, while I especially loved having the master suite on a separate floor, complete with its own porch where I could sit and read, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the view of the beautiful trees. Sadly, we were too busy having fun for me to use the beautiful master bath jacuzzi tub. We could have spent the entire time having a blast without even leaving the property!
Los Pinos was close to downtown. The weather was perfect, day and night, which was a big change from the Austin heat! We were active outside during the day: the kids loved spending the day at the Summer Fun Park, and I got to deal with my fear of heights and hike my first fourteener, Quandary Peak, which was only a few miles away. Then, we relaxed and had wonderful meals each night; we especially liked Relish and Blue River Bistro.
Also, Steve was very responsive; he responded to every message from me within a few hours, despite living in a different time zone! We were given detailed directions, instructions for check in and check out, for the wireless, pool, and garage, and multiple ways to contact both the owners and the property managers.
I would recommend Steve and Hayley’s place to everyone I know, and hope to one day go back there again myself!
# 438319 Castro, San Francisco, San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, 1 BR, 1 BA, STUDIO
Close to the Metro and check out this amazing garden just outside your door.
08/08/2015 - I loved this rental property as it was right next to everything. We were so close to the Castro, a grocery store, a drugstore and many restaurants and bars. There was even a hardware store nearby with anything that you could need.
I loved the space of the studio. It was perfect for me and my friend. Intimate but not small and perfect for couples, with plenty of space. It’s a lot bigger than any hotel room I’ve seen in San Francisco and has the kitchenette you’ll never find in a hotel room. We were able to keep snacks and little nibbles in the room so we didn’t have to run out to get something in the morning before we were ready to head out to our next adventure. The bed was giant and very comfortable. I could sleep forever on the sheets provided. We had everything we needed from an iron and ironing board to robes and slippers.
We were close to public transportation. It was a short walk to catch the Metro to anywhere in the city. It’s also close to bus lines if you prefer.
Although we weren’t able to meet Jan, we did get to meet Wandralee and had a great time visiting with her. She was able to recommend restaurants and many things that we hadn’t heard of.
The best part of staying here was the amazing garden out back. It was pretty and wonderful to look at as we sat outside in the morning. There’s a great table in the back corner where you can look at the trees and the garden while relaxing or two chairs just outside the sliding glass door. The garden would be great for those who like to meditate or do yoga in the morning. Or anytime as the space is so quiet even during the rush hour. You can’t hear any traffic or noise unlike many of the downtown hotels. I even heard from Wandralee that a couple staying here got engaged in the garden.
I’d highly recommend this studio to anyone wanting to stay in San Francisco. I’d love to stay here again next time I’m in town.
# 374434 Grassy Key, Marathon Area, Florida Keys, Florida, USA, 3 BR, 2 BA, HOUSE
A beautiful place to relax after a day of exploring the Keys!
08/08/2015 - The VRBO Bear stayed at the Key Lime Kottage and he could ‘Bearly’ stand to leave…..
I must first just say, the owners of this incredibly nice property in the Central Florida Keys are impeccable vacation rental owners in every single regard. The VRBO Bear was very impressed. Every nuance and detail of the property is top-notch and they take great pride to ensure that their property is impeccable in every regard.
The swimming pool and hot tub, enclosed by a lovely Florida screened room provided a wonderful insect-free habitat that my family enjoyed every evening after an adventure-filled day exploring the Florida Keys. It was simply the best. Imagine lying in a hot tub watching your favorite movie on a large screen TV, surrounded by the darkness of a mangrove forest and not another house in sight.
My Bear family and I sponsored a dolphin (Cayo) at the dolphin research center next door to the Key Lime Kottage, and for our membership fee ($100) we were allowed to visit the dolphins at the center every day of our stay for no extra charge. (Except the gift shop, as the VRBO Bear has young cubs.) The center is a mere 100 yards from the Kottage on foot. This alone was hard to beat, but even more fun than that, was every morning and evening we would take the kayaks provided by the Kottage and visit the dolphins by sea… it was so much fun. And about the kayaking… the Bear family explored the entire bay to the north and to the south, including the fascinating mangrove tunnel forest just across the bay. Sunsets on a kayak in the bay in the evening…..in a word, priceless.
Another nice feature the Bear appreciated about the Kottage were the detailed instructions about everything you might have questions about, such as how to load the kayaks from the garage and to the dock, which trash cans were for recycling and when to get them to the curb, to the details regarding the proper operation of the hot tub, and much more. The owners of Key Lime Kottage have thought of it all.
The VRBO Bear likes to cook and there were every manner of quality cooking pots and accessories a chef like the Bear could ever want or need. In particular, the knives were of excellent quality and sharp. The VRBO Bear appreciates sharp knives while cooking and was very pleased to discover this when he started preparing meals. For the VRBO little cubs, my kids, one thing they appreciated was the excellent technology. There was a solid Wi-Fi signal on the entire property and the TV in the main living room for evening movie watching was outstanding as well as the TV at the hot tub outside. And finally, for Momma Bear, when asked what her favorite things were she said there were very nice towels, including an abundance of pool towels, a nicely stocked kitchen with everything that you need to cook meals, there were notes to answer all questions, and there were good pool toys for the kids.
Every detail was thought of to make the traveler experience the best with all the creature comforts possible for a vacation. If you are looking to have a wonderfully private and secluded vacation escape in a premium property managed by owners that genuinely care about your experience you need look no further than the Key Lime Kottage. It was an incredibly relaxing place for the VRBO Bear Family to stay at and they would love to visit again someday!

Enjoy the breathtaking views!
08/06/2015 - Our stay was amazing! The owner was communicative at all times and readily available for any questions. He provided some great recommendations for things to do – there was a binder in the condo as well as the activities we read about on the listing. We all went out on our first day and swam and chased a small crab across the beach.
The condo was very spacious for the mama, papa and teenage bear so we did not have to worry about stepping on each other’s paws. The view from the balcony was breathtaking and every morning we would look out at the beach and hear the waves. The condo was well appointed with towels for the shower and towels for the beach. With a washer and dryer in the unit we never ran out of towels.
The condo is centrally located so we could walk to most of our excursion appointments (scuba, kayak, snorkel and horseback riding) as well as the downtown and beach areas. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He recommended a rental car even though we could walk to most things, and we were glad we had one. We didn’t have to wait for taxis when going farther than the mile around the condo, and the GPS was helpful since some road signs were harder to see than others.
The coolest thing we did was go out to Desecheo Island and do a snorkel trip where we could see the bottom of the ocean even though it was a good 50 feet below. It was there that we saw sea turtles. We also enjoyed Harbor restaurant, it is just a block and a half from the condo and the red snapper there was mouthwatering

Enjoy the breeze and breathtaking views of the ocean.
08/01/2015 - We had a great stay at this condo in Kona. It’s located along a main street, and we were excited to see the ocean and breathtaking views as the car turned into the property.
There were so many exciting things to do on the island, we didn’t spend too much time indoors or get to use the pool. Our favorite times in the condo were the mornings and late evenings. The lanai had a perfect view of the ocean as we were actually right alongside it! In the mornings, we would drink coffee and watch the dolphins and cruise ships through the binoculars. At night, the breeze was perfect and we spent nights reading on the deck to the sound of ocean waves.
All the amenities in our little condo were just what we needed: snorkels, beach towels, bath towels, pool noodles, games, DVDs, and washing/drying machine. The bed was very tall, but very comfortable! We took hot and good-pressured showers each night, too!
I highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for a little condo in the perfect location with wonderful ocean views.
# 445306 Private Homes, Marco Island, Florida South West, Florida, USA, 3 BR, 3 BA, HOUSE
The perfect place to enjoy southern Florida.
08/01/2015 - After a short drive from Ft. Lauderdale, this Pops Bear was ready to relax with Ma Bear, Kid Bear, and Grandma & Papa Bear for a week on Marco Island in this beautiful vacation home. We couldn’t have been more happy!
Tom, our host, was an extremely nice and accommodating guy. Upon arrival he greeted us, went over where everything was and how things worked in the house. He spent time going over a map of the island with us showing us some of the key places. Overall, he made us feel comfortable and welcome.
The main entryway opens up into a large open great room with lots of natural light and a great view of the pool and waterways. There was a nice formal dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen connected which made it easy to relax, cook meals, and be together. But what we loved most was being able to step right out to the enclosed lanai and pool. This virtually doubled the living space and made it very easy to entertain Kid Bear.
The home was perfect for a family of bears, as it provided a perfect balance of being together or having privacy when we wanted. The master suite is on one side of the house and the other two bedrooms are on the opposite side. That made it nice for Grandma and Papa Bear to get some rest when Kid Bear decided to wake up early in the morning!
All three bedrooms were very comfortable with pillow top mattresses and soft bed linens, but the master suite stood out. It’s hard not to relax when you have a full pillow top king-sized bed to sleep on, a huge bathroom with an oversized tub and shower to bathe in, and a sliding glass door that leads directly to the pool.
All the things a family might need in a house were there, including utensils, linens, dishes, cooking spices, pots, pans, etc. Everything you’d need for a trip to the beach, including umbrellas and sand mats, were all there. Pool toys, soap and shampoo, and a really nice grill were available.
One of our favorite things about the house was getting up early in the morning, being able to take a few steps out to the boat dock, and watching the sun rise.
This home is central to everything. Both beaches are about 10 minutes away and both have fun activities such as parasailing and renting wave runners. Most of the restaurants are 5-10 minutes away. Pops Bear recommends driving 30 minutes into Naples, FL for a nice evening out.
After a week there we were sad to have to go back to our cave. There is a LOT to love about this wonderful Marco Island vacation home and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks for the great experience!

Lounging in the sun, overlooking the beatiful ocean views!!!
07/25/2015 - The VRBO Bear just had an amazing first day in the beautiful U.S. Virgin Island of St. Croix! The weather was perfect - in the 80’s and a summer breeze filled the air. The bear was fortunate to stay in a designer estate that sits on top of two private hilltop acres overlooking St. Croix. A great plus is that the bear could leave his passport at home and travel with just a US license!
The beautiful home provided island living to its fullest. The outdoor living area, including the kitchen, living room, dining room, and pool, all overlook the Caribbean. The bear’s favorite parts of the house included the relaxing hammock, upstairs balcony and the pool! The Larimar Estate had plenty of room for all of the bear’s items because it was 4200 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Michael, the onsite caretaker of the property provided the bear with a full list of activities for the week such as island explorations, snorkeling, and relaxing at the beach. The bear had a real surprise towards the end of his stay when Michael brought over Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies to the house to perform fire dancing!
The bear had an unforgettable experience at Villa Larimar in St. Croix. The ocean views, outdoor living space, and the onsite property manager provided us a wonderful vacation.

Great views in the middle of town!
07/18/2015 - This property is located right in the middle of the town. It's walking distance to Starbucks, bike & ski rentals, the resort shuttle and the main grocery store! It's very roomy, modern and updated with a nice vaulted wood ceiling. It's fully stocked with all the basics from paper towels to laundry soap. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this was the best stocked with all the basics we needed to enjoy our week.
Our family thought this townhouse was comfortable and homey. We felt very relaxed and enjoyed being able to explore the town on bike, foot or using the free transportation system.
It’s very close to Footloose Sports where you can rent the best mountain bikes in town. We rode from the very top of Mammoth Mountain right down to the Townhouse!
The owner was very responsive to all questions. I'd highly recommend staying here and we hope to return some time soon. Thanks to Buck for the great trip.

Everything about this place was perfect!
07/18/2015 - We had an awesome time at Las Piedras. Five stars aren’t enough!
The home had an antique, relaxing feel. The effect was mesmerizing just like one would experience at the spa, with the difference that the calming effect lasts way more than just an hour or two.
Pictures don’t do justice to this property. One must stay to experience beauty and calming effect of the cottage. From the entrance there are outstanding views of the mountains. The living area also had great mountain views. From the sunroom you could spot rabbits running in the bushes. There were skylights at multiple locations in the home that kept the home well illuminated.
The kitchen is fully equipped with whatever one might need. It is clean and well kept. We were a large group and cooked at home. Cid’s grocery is close-by where you can find local organic grocery items.
The vacation home is spacious. Master bath is a home in itself. Amenities are excellent; sauna, spa, washer and dryer, and kitchen appliances, ping-pong room, lots of games, tons of books, patio with excellent views and grill and the list keeps going on.
A week is not enough to enjoy this place. It is a perfect retreat for family and friends. Needless to say, next time we visit Taos, we know where our home is!!

06/29/2015 - VRBO Bear here, reporting from sunny Los Angeles! When we decided to visit LA, we couldn’t resist staying at the Casa Grande at Hermosa Oasis located in beautiful Hermosa Beach.
First of all, the house is wonderful. Three comfortable bedrooms, each with a TV to wind down at the end of a long day, and two bathrooms. The living room is spacious and perfect for lounging in front of the large windows overlooking the beach and the Strand. The kitchen is open and has everything you need. The owner also provides chairs, coolers, and towels to use on the beach. Free WiFi if you are inclined to stay connected.
As great as the house is, the best part of this place is the LOCATION. The front porch is literally steps from the beach. There is a volleyball net directly in front of the house. Hermosa Beach Pier, with tons of restaurants, bars and shops, is only a few minutes’ walk away. There is a convenience store and grocery store within walking distance. Manhattan Beach is only a 15-20 minute walk down the Strand. 20 minute drive from LAX.
The Strand is always full of people walking, running, and biking which can inspire those interested in active fun. We spent a lot of time at the porch table, enjoying the ocean breeze. Suzanne, the owner, was very attentive to every need and made our arrival and departure painless. Come visit the Casa Grande, you won’t regret it!

We enjoyed everything about this beautiful home.
06/28/2015 - The Lake Dunlap house was the perfect location for a laid back retreat to celebrate my birthday. My best bear friends (4 of us) had a wonderful time lounging in the sunshine on the boat dock. Having breakfast on the back patio overlooking the serene, morning lakefront was the perfect way to start the day. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax while catching up with friends and we all slept comfortably in our own rooms.
The proximity to Whitewater Amphitheater was perfect. We were able to Uber to and from the concert easily and several tubing spots were accessible near by. I’d recommend the Walker’s home for your next gathering of bear friends or family, big or small. They have plenty of comfortable beds and living areas inside and out for the group to hang out together or find peace and quiet in their own corner of the property. Next time we go I hope we have a chance to sit under the stars and listen to the lake lapping at the shore by the fire pit!

Catch some rays out by the pool.
06/28/2015 - As soon as we came out of hibernation and strolled up to the building we knew this place in lower downtown Denver was going to be the perfect place for us. Our bear family is just the two of us so this unit with one bedroom and bath was perfect.
The kitchen was large and well equipped for any chef bears that might want to cook during their vacation. The living room featured an excellent television with a wide assortment of channels. The bathroom is well appointed with a modern, front-loading washer and dryer in the closet. This was great for us bears, as we like to pack light.
The covered parking garage was very easy to access with the elevators conveniently next to the access door. There was no assigned spot but there were always plenty of available spaces.
We didn’t use the pool during our stay, but it did look inviting and there were plenty of deck chairs around the sides for relaxing. Probably the most unique feature of this building is the mini two-lane bowling alley located on the first floor. How neat is that?
There were many options nearby for food and entertainment. The 16th Street Mall area has nearly everything you could need for shopping and there’s a free shuttle that runs up and down the center.
We really enjoyed our stay in Denver and we loved this perfect little condo. It was a great home away from our usual bear cave and we will certainly book it again!
# 378678 Sonoma, Sonoma County, Wine Country, California, USA, 1 BR, 1 BA, COTTAGE
Beautiful place, both inside and outside.
06/23/2015 - This Sonoma cottage is the perfect secluded spot for visiting all the area has to offer! A friend joined me, and we had the pleasure of staying in this hide-away at the end of a long, private driveway.
The cottage has all the amenities a bear would need, including a bottle of wine waiting to be uncorked upon arrival. The bright kitchen was well-stocked with necessities, including beer, water and ice. The bedroom sleeps two and the sleeper-sofa sleeps two, so each of us had plenty of room to sprawl at night after long days of hunting for honey and wine. The garden patio is gorgeous and begs for guests to sit outside enjoying the cool, dry evenings of northern California.
The downtown square in Sonoma has many restaurants, shops, and wine bars. It is only a mile away, which is a quick drive or an easy walk through the quiet neighborhood. The owners, Bennett and Sheila, offer their classic cherry red VW Beetle to drive around. Although we did not drive it, we admired the shiny car each time we entered the driveway.
As a springboard for visiting the Sonoma and Napa region, this is a fantastic location to stay. I highly recommend visiting this Sonoma cottage for anyone visiting the wine country!

Here is the "key" to a wonderful vacation.
06/20/2015 - With our first impression of this house on Longboat Key, we knew our vacation was going to be great. The owners had thoughtfully turned the A/C on before we arrived, which was quite a welcome for our Bear family. Momma Bear, Baby Bear, and I were part of a mini gathering of the Bear Clan – nine in all.
We immediately noticed how clean this place was. The floor plan was set up to accommodate with three separate Bear caves (oh – you humans call these bedrooms, I believe) with a large kitchen & living room in the middle providing plenty of space to spread out when little bears needed to take naps in a quiet space.
As you know, bears are often hungry, so the kitchen is hugely important and the Longboat house rental had a great one. It had everything that a Foodie Bear could ever want. I particularly liked the generous size of the refrigerator – lots of room.
A big plus was this house was in a quiet neighborhood without the buzz of traffic. Great for sleepy Bear naps. We were happy the beaches were so close and that the homeowners were good enough to have a huge collection of beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, beach towels, etc. We quickly realized there would be plenty of shade, comfortable chairs and toys.
A personal favorite were the five bikes - nice, good quality bikes. They worked great for both trips to the beach and to town. And talk about responsive home owners - they called on our first day to check how things were going and we happened to mention that the bike tire air pump was broken and within an hour a new one was on the front step.
The Bear Clan’s visit to Longboat was a real success. Much of it was the result of a well maintained and super clean house with homeowners who obviously cared enough to equip their home with things like bikes & beach toys that make such a difference when you’re on vacation. Great job!

Home - home on the range!
06/12/2015 - We had a fantastic stay at the Wellington Vineyard estate home. The home is completely lovely and well-appointed and the grounds are gorgeous.
This bear family feels this place is PERFECT as both a comfortable, child-safe place for one or more families and also luxurious and beautiful as a wine country getaway for grown-ups. The kitchen is marvelous and there are so many places to eat! A nice dining room table and tables on both the porch and yard on either side of the house. We bears do lots of cooking and really appreciated the nice appliances and kitchen tools. The house offers gorgeous vistas from every room. The living room has wall-to-wall sliders, providing views of the vineyards, mountains, and gardens.
We have 3 small bear cubs and shared the home with another bear family. Erika, the manager, provided several high chairs, sleeping cot, pack n plays, and lots of high quality toys for the kiddos. It was the perfect place for a family trip. The heated pool has a safety cover, which gave us peace of mind with our small children. Many hours were spent playing ping pong and bocce ball too! There was a huge pile of beach towels and several emergency kits, a nice plus.
Upon our arrival, a nice bottle of wine was waiting for us, made with grapes from the vineyard that the house resides on. There were 8 bikes with helmets available and the house is located off the main road, which makes it feel off the beaten track. It's also located in a perfect spot in Sonoma Co, with many restaurants and wineries nearby.
The house was spotless and stocked with high quality bed linens and very comfy beds. We'd love to return with a couple of couples for a weekend away. This house is wonderful!

Enjoy the beautiful outdoor living space!
06/12/2015 - We highly recommend a stay in this beautiful La Jolla home to experience a wonderful vacation. The home has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, which was more than enough room for our group of 9 Bear family members (6 adults and 3 children). Three of the bedrooms have king beds, which was a major plus given that we had three couples in our group. The upstairs bedrooms have relaxing balconies with incredible views of La Jolla, the beach, and the Pacific Ocean. The house has several living areas and a large, accommodating kitchen, which made it a perfect retreat for cooking meals and enjoying each other's company. The house also has several family-friendly features including kid's toys, movies, and beach toys.
The property also has a beautiful outdoor living area and backyard, including several nice sitting areas and many lovely plants native to southern California. The adults enjoyed the outdoor fireplace in the evening and the kids enjoyed playing games in the back yard. We took advantage of the outdoor grill to cook fresh fish from the nearby El Pescador Fish Market.
The home is located less than a mile from downtown La Jolla, which has many restaurants and great shopping. Also within walking distance from the house, the La Jolla cove is a must-see (look for the sea lions!) and the Coast Walk trail offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the dramatic La Jolla coastline. A short drive away, the La Jolla Shores Beach is a beautiful public beach. It was very clean, not too crowded, with free parking, and a perfect place to relax and watch beautiful sunsets. For those who enjoy golf, Torrey Pines offers one of the most scenic courses in all of golf.
This Bear family had a truly memorable vacation in this fantastic home and we thank the owners for an amazing experience!
# 599810 Indian Beach, Galveston, Gulf Coast, Texas, USA, 3 BR, 3 BA, HOUSE
The perfect place to stay in Galveston!
06/11/2015 - The bear family had a fantastic stay at Villa Bel Mare in Galveston! We traveled with another family, for a total of four adults and five children. The home was perfectly set up for a group of two families. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with bathrooms. The master bedroom has a large closet (with an air vent) that had a futon mattress and pack and play, along with extra bedding storage. The little closet was perfect for my two year old to sleep in! The master bedroom is also very large and carpeted, so there was plenty of room for a child in a sleeping bag there as well.
Downstairs is the living space and another bedroom with two full size beds, a full bathroom, and a TV/ DVD player. That bedroom worked well for the children. The living space is open, with two tables/ chairs plus barstools, so we had plenty of dining space. There is a large deck off the downstairs, with six deck chairs and a table/ chairs set. We spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the views.
The house had everything we needed, and it was very clean when we arrived. There is a grill outside, which we used every day. There were also plenty of dishes, serving dishes, and grilling tools. My favorite touch was the mini LED night lights around the home, which were great to put with the children at night.
The beach is about a block away. It was wonderful! We were there during the week, and it was not crowded at all. There was always plenty of parking right by the beach walkway entrance, in case you want to take coolers and other beach gear. We set up a beach canopy in the morning and left it up all day, even when we returned to the house for a midday break. We also left some chairs and other items with the canopy, and it was all there when we returned.
There is wide open space all around the home, so there are great views in every direction of the ocean and bay sides. You can see both the sunrise and sunset!

There is something here for the whole family!!!
06/07/2015 - I highly recommend this condo for a family stay! It was fully equipped to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. Many recent upgrades have been done, including a new washer/dryer and a new TV in the master bedroom. There were many handy and thoughtful perks throughout the condo - a beach cart, beach chairs, beach mats and toys, a poker table, and games. The kitchen is fully equipped with lots of dishes, pots and pans, a coffee maker, toaster, ice maker in the freezer, blender, dishwasher and just about anything you’ll need if you plan on cooking. With TV’s, Direct TV and DVD players in both bedrooms as well as the living room, I was able to keep the kids busy while making breakfast or packing/unpacking.
The balcony had 4 chairs and a table. It was well shaded so it was nice to be able to hang out at any time of day. We had views of the bay from our bedrooms and the balcony overlooks the pool. Parking was easy - the garage is right under the condo. The elevators worked perfectly, no issues and there was even a cart for luggage which made life much easier when unloading and loading luggage.
The pool is awesome! There is a kiddie pool with a sun shade over it, a hot tub, a deep end, built in chaise lounges so you can literally lay down while you’re in the pool and a cabana in the middle for plenty of shade! Several grilling stations with shade and picnic tables are nearby.
The beach is a very short walk on a private walkway. It was easy to get to and even easier with that beach cart! With two small children, all of the beach toys plus our umbrella, towels and blanket, this beach cart was a life saver.
The condo is right next to Schlitterbahn Water Park and there’s a restaurant right on the beach which allowed us to grab a bite before heading up.
I already miss this condo and wish we could have stayed for the whole summer!
