The Mill House on the beach is an excellent place to stay. There are many things to do at the house and it's nice and quiet. The house is clean and well stocked with towels, cooking items & bedding. We were able to snorkel, saw some turtles swimming & watched the sunrise every day. I would come again in a heartbeat and can't imagine staying anywhere else. Read the journal from others who have stayed here for tips on what to see and things to do. My husband and I, and our three boys, had a lovely time. The only thing we would change is to stay longer. ❤️
This house has turned out to be such a little gem. We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our time spent at the Mill House. The house has everything you need. The beach is literally steps off the back porch. The only other people we saw on the beach the entire stay was an occasional person fishing. It was very private. We were needing a place to unwind and recharge and this place is the setting to do just that. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
We enjoyed the drive to the North Shore and also trying Kens Fresh Fish.
Beautiful ocean view!
We just returned from our stay, & had a wonderful time. The house is cozy & has everything you need. We spent most of our time on the lanai, watching turtles & enjoying the view. The house is located near lots of attractions, beaches & little towns. Our family loved the privacy & feeling of being on our own little beach. We had a great time & would love to visit again someday!
Yes, just a little piece of Heaven.
Had a fabulous time!
The back porch/lanai was our favorite spot! Literally 20-30 feet from the water! The kids loved the house too! Toys and boogie boards a plenty! And we used the kayaks one morning which was fun (the one downside was there were only 2 paddles, so the kids couldn't help paddle).
We didn't receive check-in instructions ahead of time, but luckily someone happened to show up just a minute after we arrived. They were super friendly and helpful! The one bummer is that we didn't know there was a hose on the side of the yard until we walked past it the last day, that would have been so helpful for rinsing kids down after playing in the sand.
With fans in each room & windows open it made the house totally bearable without ac even though it was in the middle of hot summer.
Had a great time!
Pictures don't do this house justice
This house is the best of 3 I have rented in Hawaii. Let's do a walk-through!
You will start in the kitchen - galley kitchen with EVERYTHING you could need. Right down to the BBQ tools and metal rods for S'mores. Through the kitchen is the laundry room, with new washer/dryer and cleaning tools and a cooler with wheels.
Then the small bedroom with the trundle bed. We had anticipated putting two adults in here - my sister and my daughter - but the room is just wide enough for the length of the bed, so if you're planning on two in here, they had better want to climb over one another. Also, there is a bifold door between the kitchen and the laundry room, no door between laundry and trundle room.
Next to the trundle bed room with a door in between is the double/queen bed room. Very comfortable for 2 adults. The trundle and double/queen rooms are on the highway side of the house, so there is traffic noise and you will need fans (included) since the breeze can't get back there.
Next is the bathroom - I was afraid one bathroom for 6 adults was going to be challenging, but it turned out it wasn't. Also, the bathroom is very spacious. No bathtub, but a large shower with a high-enough shower head and good pressure. This is also where all the towels are - plenty of luxurious bath and beach towels for everyone.
Next is the master bedroom - ahhhh! Comfy King size bed with plenty of pillows - and more in the closet. A TV (didn't use), and a ton of windows that open to the beach side of the house. The breeze is delicious, and between it and the ceiling fan, we were perfectly cool all night long.
The dining room has a nice long table that comfortably seats 8, and there's an additional breakfast nook with seating for 4. The living room has a very nice sofa set - this is where my daughter ended up sleeping. The furniture is very well made and comfortable. The living room has 4 patio doors that open to the lanai with fabulous breezes. The lanai is hugh with a picnic table for 10, a glass table for 4, and a patio set that seats 4.
The back yard and lanai have snorkel gear galore, kayaks, and lots of floaty-toys. The beach is clean and private, and the water is warm and shallow.
Deb was very friendly and helpful - always with a smile and wanting to help. One day, she left an extra fan on the porch which was much appreciated!
We had a great family vacation here - if we are so lucky to have another with our adult kids, we will definitely come back!
Thank you for your comments. We will look for you in the future. There is a sliding pocket door between laundry and small bedroom. When we use that room we move one bed against the wall and it gives you room to use both without growing wings😀
