Ideally located, spacious beach house with the perfect beach charm located in Ocean Beach, Long Island, New York. Located conveniently on a beach access block between the beach, bay, town and ferry. Spacious two story, 4 bedroom/2.5 bathroom with outdoor shower and dressing area, a bright and breezy large social front porch/screened sunroom featuring both a sitting area and large dining area to hang out out night, to dine or to sip your early morning coffee and enjoy the quiet morning time. It can accommodate a large family(s) with four large bedrooms upstairs (BR # 1: Northeast facing): Brand new full over full adult bunkbed with pull out twin trundle under bottom bunk, (BR # 2: Northwest facing): Queen bed, (BR # 3: Southeast facing): Brand new full over full adult bunk bed with pull out twin trundle under bottom bunk, (BR #4: Southwest facing): Queen bed) Crib and highchair also available if needed. Just 4 minutes in every direction: beach, bay, town, restaurants, shopping, community center and ferry. Only thing to bring is yourself......we have bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, skim board, towels, sheets, any kitchen appliance you need. Home has its own beach wagon locked by ferry to transport anything needed to the house after you get off the ferry. Purchased new wheeled beach cart to transport beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach bags to beach. Purchased new wheeled shopping cart to purchase groceries. Brand new super fast Verizon FIOS 5.0 GH wireless internet service, Direct TV, A/C in every bedroom, including living room and kitchen, plenty of room to relax, make great family memories, work remote and decompress. Purchased new Hewlett Packard network wireless color printer. Very large private back deck with multiple sitting, lounging and dining areas. Gas BBQ with multiple propane tanks. New owners have recently completed interior makeover inclusive of painting of entire of interior of home, new linens, pillows, two new adult full over full bunk beds with pull out trundle under bottom bunk bed, new living room furniture, new dining room furniture, new 65 inch smart TV, new lighting fixtures, new electronic access locks, new exterior lighting for night dining or hanging out......be prepared to make some amazing family memories.

Family Vacation

We had a great week! The house was exactly as listed. Location was perfect, plenty of room in the house, nice big kitchen. The owner could not have been any more responsive, an absolute pleasure! We had beautiful weather and a perfect family vacation!

Great time in Fire Island!!!

What a wonderful house this is! Just 30 seconds from the town and ferry! There was plenty of space, clean, cool, and perfect for our needs. They even have a Coffee Keurig which I didn’t expect. You will not be disappointed with this house!!

Nice house, great location

The house was perfect for our holidays. Two minute walk to town and 5 minutes to the beach. Everything worked as it should. There were plenty of towels and beach chairs and other amenities. The owner was very accommodative. Wonderful experience.

Great rental Oceanside Fire Island

Great location right in the heart of Oceanside Fire Island. 2 minute walk to town and 5 minute walk to the beach. Perfect location. Updated kitchen and entire home is air conditioned. 3 bedrooms sleeps 6 very comfortably. Great outside living with outdoor shower. Looking forward to renting it again next summer. Highly recommend the home.

Feels Like Home

A great location near town and a short walk to the beach. The house is well suited for multiple families. Lots a great space. This house just makes you feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment you walk up to the door. Great outdoor area for meals and family time. Screened in porch is perfect for enjoying an evening drink and a book. And the outdoor shower is just heaven on a hot day. Our family loves this house and hopes to come back every summer.

Good beach week

We had a great week in Ocean Beach! The kitchen and refrigerator were very clean, as well as the sinks and toilets. House was in a great location, so close to town and a quick walk to the beach. Lots of room for everyone. Owners were wonderful, responding to any issues right away. That being said, house did need some maintenance. But it is a beach house and had just about everything we needed. A great summer break!

Ocean Beach Vintage Charmer

My family of 3 had a wonderful time entertaining family and friends in this charming Ocean Beach house. We, and our guests, stayed cool and comfortable all week, thanks to window a/c’s, ceiling fans, and a breezy front porch. The location is perfect, close to town for restaurants, shopping and nightly ice cream from Scoops. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach, made easier if you bring a folding wagon and lock, with plenty to look at along the way (many deer, beautiful mosaics and cool garden art). I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to enjoy all that Ocean Beach offers for a great family vacation.

Very good experience

Nice house in Ocean Beach, four bedrooms, large family room, dining room. Excellent full-service kitchen, also with a dining area. One indoor shower and one outdoor shower. Clean, well equipped, spacious, large rooms. The close proximity to town, being maybe a hundred yards from restaurants and markets, was extremely convenient. The house has many air conditioners when the weather turns hot and muggy. We've been coming to Ocean Beach for forty years and this was one of the best houses we've stayed at.

Location, location, location!

We were so pleased with how centrally situated we were; the house was only about 3 minutes away from the ferry, shops and restaurants, and 5 minutes from the beach. After spending a day on the glorious beach, we would come back for a quick snack, relax on the deck, and then walk back to the beach to watch the sun set- Pure Heaven! Dawn was a gracious and attentive host. She was flexible about time conflicts and answered phone/emails promptly, checked in to make sure all was fine. It’s clear that she was willing to go the extra mile to make sure her guests were happy.

Great location- house not well maintained

We had to call VRBO to get the owner’s number since two days before we had no check-in information. She was friendly and sent it right away. The house is charming with a lighthouse theme and very close to town and the ferry. It was well stocked with supplies and children’s items. However the only bathroom with a shower had no doorknobs, and the outdoor shower floor was dirty and had random pieces of trash and debris in it. The doorknob for the master bedroom came off in my hand and all the chests of drawers had loose knobs. The kitchen light over the kitchen table was broken. None of the 3 bikes were operational. The tires were flat and the chain was off one. One cart was completely rotted and in pieces. We contacted the owner but she had had a death in the family and was out of town. She sent a repair man- but it was already late in the week and some repairs were never done. The bikes and master bedroom knob were fixed. We get the impression the maintenance of this nice house has slipped- other lights and a towel ring were broken. We hope the owner will make the necessary repairs and bring this nice house back into the great condition we read about in other reviews.

Great location - house upkeep could be improved

The house is in an excellent location - very close to the town and ferry and a short walk to the beach. The house is also very spacious and is charming. The owner is extremely responsive. The kitchen is very well equipped (there does seem to be an extraordinary amount of spoons for some reason). However, even with the understanding that this is a beach house and beach houses are by definition prone to get worn and sandy (I live a block from the beach myself), this house could use some tender loving care (it is certainly not immaculate as the title of the listing says). The listing says there are two full bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a tub and a shower. This is not true. There is only one bathroom with a shower - it is downstairs and the door to that bathroom has no doorknob - there is just a hole where the doorknob used to be (it has a lock you can use though). Just a note - the lack of doorknobs in this bathroom was also previously mentioned in an August 2019 review. The other bathroom, which is upstairs, just has a tub (there is a shower curtain but no shower attachment at least while we were there). The sink in the upstairs bathroom did not drain (we had to use a plunger and when we plunged it, the water came up in the tub). The owner did try to have it fixed while we were there but it didn't work out (we definitely realize that the handymen on the island seemed to be extremely busy given that it was the start of the season - the plumber did show up on the morning we were checking out despite the owner having called him days before). The doorknob for one of the master bathrooms kept falling off (the only reason I raise this was that it was also mentioned in an August 2019 review). There was only one bike in usable shape. Bring flipflops to wear in the outdoor shower (which was very spacious) as the deck is worn and splintering in places. Like I said, the owner was very responsive and tried to get the items we raised fixed. The caretaker of the house came by a few times to try to help us as well and was very kind and helpful. We were only there a week so we realize it is not always possible to address things that quickly in a rental house. I am only writing this review to put other renters on notice as to what to expect, especially since we experienced some of the same issues that were raised in a previous review from almost 2 years ago.

Excellent summer vacation

The house has been recently renovated with new appliances. It is comfortable, well equipped, and nicely located. Lovely deck. The owners are welcoming and responsive to questions. Good for families. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed being there. We are planning to return next summer.

Fire Island

This is our second time renting this home and it just gets better every year! The new upgrades to the house made our stay so much more relaxing. The house was spotless, clean and so inviting! The outdoor furniture was so relaxing to lounge in the sun on! The owners could not have been more accommodating and were a pleasure to communicate with. We will absolutely be booking this house again next year!

Great Beach House for Family

We had a great time at this house, and it worked really well for our family of 5+1 friend. Sleeping was great, each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a window a/c and although I was skeptical, they were very cool and comfortable, even in 90F weather. Bed configuration was great, with two rooms for couples and two rooms for kids. Kitchen is well equipped, we did cook a few times, and I can't think of a thing we needed that we didn't have. Outside BBQ worked perfectly too, and is very big. A/c in the kitchen made it comfortable, even in the full heat of the day. Living room was very comfy, also with an a/c. Lots of games, puzzles, stuff for a rainy day. Although there are two full baths, only one of them has a shower (the other has a tub). I thought this would be a problem, but most of my family really enjoyed the outdoor shower (as did I!), so it wasn't a problem at all. The screen porch in the front is really nice, great afternoon breezes, we hung out there every day. Very comfortable, but furniture could use a cleaning, we threw towels over the chairs and it was fine. There's one wagon which is huge and enough for all our needs, and it had a lock. Overall, there's a beach house feel, not luxurious, but definitely comfy and homey. The town is really nice, great restaurants and cute shops. It's a long-ish walk to the beach, but totally manageable, especially with the backpack beach chairs.

Great getaway!

This is our 2nd time staying here and we love it. The location is so convenient and the house has everything you need to relax and enjoy all of the wonderful things Fire Island has to offer.

Great rental Ocean Beach Fire Isalnd

Great location right in the heart of Ocean Beach Fire Island. 2 minute walk to town and 5 minute walk to the beach. Perfect location. Lovely spacious, well equipped home near beach and bay --- pictures don't really do it justice

I have stayed here several times and was particularly impressed with how comfortable and welcoming this place is. It is unusually spacious for a beach house, with lots of nooks and crannies to read, relax and accommodate a large family. It is like a real home, built solidly and fully equipped. The very private outdoor deck with pretty landscaping is large and the place to hang in good weather. You could spend hours there and not even notice the time has passed. The upstairs bedrooms are comfortable and a place to get away from it all with plenty of room for spillover guests. Add to this a large , renovated eat-in kitchen and plenty of downstairs living space and there really is nothing more you could ask for. The owners are terrific and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
