Privately gated 10+ acre property that backs up to Lassen National Forest. Open space for horses, trailer/RV access, hiking etc. Less than 1/2 mile from Hat Creek (no creek access on site), and minutes away from Burney Falls, Baum Lake, the Subway Caves, SETI Institute, Lassen Volcanic National Park and other renowned recreation areas.

Located in the X4 deer zone, and bordering the Lassen National Forest, this property has wildlife on site with amazing views. The property has an outdoor fire pit, EV charger, full RV hook-up, picnic table, archery range for target practice (no equipment provided) and plenty of space for whatever you want to do. House has been recently renovated; has new floors, paint, and upgrades throughout. New roof, new decks, energy efficient smart thermostat and lighting. Keyless front door entry. Central heating and air with newer appliances, flat screen TVs, and retro video game consoles in every room, free high-speed (250+ mbps) internet/WiFi, ceiling fans in all rooms, wrap around porch, 2 large bedrooms/1 bath, sleeps 7.

FIREWOOD: Free firewood on-site. Must have a burn permit to have outside fire. Only burn in designated fire pit. Permits can be obtained from permit.preventwildfiresca.org.

EV CHARGER: Please contact owner if you plan to bring an electric vehicle. An additional fee of $15.00 per day, per vehicle will be applied to booking. Standard level 2 charger on-site. Tesla adapter available upon request.

RV / TRAILER SITE: You must contact the owner to book the RV/Trailer site. An additional fee of $45.00 per night will be applied to booking. 35 foot maximum trailer/RV. Must reserve house to reserve RV site.

Perfect cozy cabin get away!
From start to finish this trip was amazing. Easy to book and involved host. The cabin was extremely clean with everything you could want or need. Host thought of everything even the items you may have forgotten. Cabin has all the modern tech and internet works as it should! Very close to Burney Falls and within driving distance to several other nature trails and falls. Beds are comfortable. We enjoyed camp fires around the fire pit and relaxing by the fire place after a long day of exploring. Kitchen is fully stocked. We could not have had a better time!

The best stay!
My family and I (husband, two kids 3/4) stayed at Hat Creek Retreat last weekend and it was absolutely wonderful! The house and grounds were immaculate and in a great location for everything we wanted to see. We visited Lassen Volcanic Park, Burney Falls, Baum Lake, Lake Britton, and the local fish hatchery. The house is close to the town of Burney where there is a Safeway, so no need to pack everything under the sun like I did! The couches and beds were very comfortable and the kids loved that they had games we could all play (Jenga, puzzles, cards, etc). Upon arrival they even left glider toy airplanes and games for each kiddo. Not to mention, a welcome sign for our family and an excellent bottle of red wine! The house was organized, clean, and had more than we needed. The kitchen had nice pots and pans and all the utensils for cooking. Everything had a home and was labeled accordingly. The house had extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, toiletries, and even shaving cream should you forget yours! Communication with Ron was effortless which I really appreciated. Hat Creek Retreat was so accommodating and cozy. I would have been happy just staying in! Excellent place for the whole family. We will be booking again. Bravo!

Great home base for fishing weekend
We stayed at the house for a fly fishing weekend, and had a great time. The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We had some great fishing within a short drive. Would definitely stay there again.

A memorable stay for our family!
Came up for some family time away from the city bustle, and this place was great ❤️ beautiful views, well stocked, so much outdoor space for the kids to run and play with their little gifts (thanks again!). It rained the entire trip but we came prepared and was able to visit most of the sites we wanted to see and some snow play. Out of everything we did, relaxing at the cabin was the favorite for our little people 😄 Thank you Ron, and hope to visit for another stay!

My family has been visiting the Burney Basin and Pit River areas for generations. This area offers so much beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. We purchased this particular property back in 2014 due to the size of the parcel and proximity to fishing and near by attractions like Burney falls. I spent past summers and weekend trips rehabbing the house into our own private get away. We hesitantly listed the property for sale in 2021 and in a last minute change of heart decided to keep it. I came up with the ambitious idea to create a vacation getaway that others would be able to enjoy as much as we do. We are making constant improvements to ensure a fun get away for whatever your travel needs may be. Look forward to having you stay and please feel free to offer any thoughts or suggestions.
