My name is Marie. I was born and brought up on a farm in Co Limerick and got to know the seaside, Lahinch, from family holidays as a child. I now live in London where I run an soft furnishing business and am involved in literacy projects with primary school children. My son and his friends particularly enjoys Lahinch Beach and the excellent surfing conditions.

Why Marie O'Donoghue chose Ennistimon
I bought this house in 2007 to provide a base for family holidays in a place that holds many happy memories. I was particularly drawn to the vibrant small town of Ennistymon, with it's many restaurants, cafes and music pubs, and also the fact that it's just a few mins drive from the coast.
What makes this Cottage unique
Ennistymon is one of the prettiest villages in Ireland built on rolling hills and within a 5 min drive from the coast. It is an active market town, renowned for the cascades on the River Inagh - 5 mins walk. It is close to Lahinch Beach and Golf Club, the Burren National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site (great for walking, magnificent scenery and wildflowers, pre-historic sacred sites). The Cliffs of Moher, Doolin/Aran Islands, Lisdoonvarna are all nearby attractions. Lahinch Beach (blue flag sandy beach), is safe for children & families as well as having world-class surfing conditions. The house is bright, airy, spacious, cosy, and very comfortable. The dining room opens out onto the beautifully landscaped garden which overlooks the river Inagh - perfect for al fresco dining. The surrounding area is a walker's paradise (on the flaggy shore or designated coastal paths), offering wonderful sea breezes and clean fresh air - The red sun dipping into the ocean at the end of the day, particularly in the long evenings of summer is a particular pleasure.
