- First floor has family room with new LED TV, DVD player, movie collection; full eat-in kitchen with adjacent bar seating for 2. BR 1 is a corner bedroom with 2 windows and a Queen bed. BR 2 is the master corner bedroom with 2 windows and a queen bed and it's own half bath and wall-mounted LED TV; BR 3 has 2 singles and a double window. All new Main bathroom with tub/shower; kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, sink, microwave etc. 1st floor covered (and now screened-in) front porch has comfortable seating area where you can hear the ocean at night in distance; and rear deck leads to large open back yard with shade tree, enclosed outside hot/cold shower, and charcoal grill for cookouts. Upstairs, enjoy 2 brand new bedrooms facing rear yard (bedding is BR 4: full bunk with twin above for kids 7-12, and BR 5: queen) and another full bathroom attached to one bedroom and wall mounted LED TV . There is a locck-out section on 2nd floor front not used/not part of rental. To use a car analogy, our house is like a well-maintained 3 year old Honda Accord. Reliable, everything you need, not huge, not a Lexus. If you have any questions after reading all the info here and on our own web site, just ask me. It's best for everyone if you get exactly what you expect. - New central air conditioning/heat system, New windows, Cozy Living Room with 2 sofas and a chair, New, fully equipped kitchen (table seats 8 plus bar w/ 2 stools, full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, plates, glasses, utensils, pans, provided. Covered first floor front porch that is now also screened-in (you can hear the waves crashing in the distance, at night). Large Rear deck (where most people hang out and have their meals). Quiet street-close to beach. Ample free parking on street (never a problem - unique area). Sorry, no pets. Pillows, and a blanket provided for each bed. Linens (towels, sheets, pillow cases, bath mats provided by tenant).house with a 'shore cottage' feel. The rooms are not large, but renovated or new and very well maintained. Unlike other listings, this house sleeps 8-10 in beds!:) when renting the 5 BR house (not on floor or sleeper sofas like most places. There are no sofa beds nor is there extra floor space...but there are 5 bedrooms and beds for the amount of people allowed) 4 Beach chairs and tags, and beach buggy for the short walk to the beach.

I have vacationed at this house since I was a kid in the 60s. It was very different then - a 3 bedroom cottage my Grandparents owned. As a kid I would help them with repairs and rentals.

Why Bart and Tricia chose Cape May
We do a lot of work each year to keep it very well maintained, which is somewhat unusual for beach rentals and even hotels at the shore. The house has a 'shore cottage' feel. It was a one-floor cottage until 2004 when we renovated it and added the 2nd floor. We intentionally kept the 1st floor true to the original cottage feel, except we updated it. And there are 2 rooms upstairs, facing the back yard. Therefore it is cozy, not massive.
What makes this House unique
I like to make sure people get what they expect when renting so here's a few thoughts: This house is right for you if.... you value great location on a relatively quiet residential street, a short walk to the beach, close to town and boardwalk, easy street parking, big yard, screened porch + 2 decks out back, very well-maintained home with modest size rooms. Think of it with the analogy of 'a very well maintained Honda Accord' good value, dependable, upper-middle level. There's enough beds and rooms for the stated amount of people allowed - in bedrooms - not on the floor or on cots like some places. This house is not right for you if.... - If you value tons of floor space for sleeping people on the floor and a place for a big party weekend, this probably isn't the best place for you. - If you want a classic worn, older rental that you don't have to take care of, this isn't for you. - If you want a huge McMansion with a 'Great Room and nothing but stainless steel Bosch appliances, granite tops, and daily maid service, this isn't for you. I reccomend The Southern Mansion B&B or a $10k rental. The usual people that rent this home in the summer are 1-2 families, 8 or 9 people; often it is a family and Grandparents/In-Laws. Hope that helps! :) I know it isn't easy comparing houses to all so different and hard to tell how nice they are inside...I know because I check out other places to make sure our rates are fair.
