About John and Pam de Rooy
Pam and John have worked in the photography profession all over North Queensland for the past 30 years and raised four boys through that time. They have taken a tree change to Malanda, still taking on photography assignments and enjoying hosting guests at Sharlynn by the River Bed and Breakfast.
John and Pam de Rooy purchased this Bed & breakfast in 2016
Why John and Pam de Rooy chose Malanda
Our family enjoyed travelling to the Atherton Tablelands regularly every year to sail on Lake Tinaroo and holiday in the area. When the time came for the tree change to a cooler and greener environment the choice for the Atherton Tablelands was easy, and when we found Sharlynn by the River it was a real pleasure to take over and continue to look after guests at this unique and very special location.
What makes this Bed & breakfast unique
The 1.5 hectares is varied from river frontage, natural rain-forest, bunya and hoop pine plantations and fruit orchard. Combine this with lots of wildlife and Charlie the border-collie and we live in a piece of paradise.
