We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful little home. It is listed as a cottage but it is beautifully equipped as a home.. Very comfortable, immaculate, peaceful...anyone renting this property would be very happy with its location, privacy and upkeep. Parking can be a bit dicey, but practice made perfect!
Cozy and comfortable!
Great secluded location. Open plan, homey and fully equipped cottage. View from kitchen window makes washing dishes a pleasure. Peaceful and serene.
Left message w/ Katie Anne yesterday about our stay. We left a day earlier due to no kerosene in heater for heat at night during the cool evening after trying to reach owner next door. Sorry but we wouldn’t return as quaint as it was. Also there were a lot of cobwebs in the corners of the floor and other places in the house.
Pros: good location, right on the banks of Lake Champlain. General area was quiet. Having the kayaks and life jackets was a plus. Well-equipped kitchen with lots of crockery, silverware, glasses and cooking equipment. Appreciated the supplies of toilet rolls, shampoo & conditioner, washing up liquid. Vacasa replied promptly when I emailed (from a cafe) to report that the wifi wasn't working and the space heater was out of gas; both issues were dealt with by the time we returned to the cottage that day.<br />
Cons: wifi is supplied by a range extender, not a dedicated router so the signal kept dropping and I was constantly resetting the range extender. Poor cleaning of the cottage prior to our arrival - lots of cobwebs, areas of poor cleanliness, dirty crockery and silverware. Very dated and worn furnishings. Dark inside. No information guide for visitors so, for example, we didn't know where and when to put out the trash.
We greatly appreciate your feedback, Carole. The owner has been made aware of your comments and concerns so they can all be addressed. We hope to see you again!
Nice location; could be much better with a bit of work
Pros: nice location, right on Lake Champlain; neighbourhood is nice and quiet; kayaks and life jackets are a plus; plenty of toilet rolls, shampoo, etc; well-equipped kitchen; lots of towels; very prompt response from property manager to issues (wifi not working on arrival and no gas in space heater).
Cons: not very clean - had to wash almost everything we wanted to use in the kitchen before use; whole place not cleaned very well - cobwebs and dirt; life jackets very dusty and cobwebby - if they had been kept in the shed instead of outside this wouldn't have happened; very dated furnishings; dark inside; wifi kept failing once guests moved in next door; no guest information - for example, we had no idea where to put rubbish out to be collected or on what day.
If this place was deep cleaned and then kept clean it would make a massive difference. Putting in a dedicated wifi router (instead of a range extender) would probably solve the wifi problem. Longer term, updating the furnishings would make this a much more attractive accommodation.
Overall, it's quite expensive for what you are getting.
Nice Place - Great Views
Quite a nice place with great views. Located at the end of a nice back road off of the main route. Kitchen was well equipped, living room was cozy with lake views. Nice screened in porch where we had our breakfast and dinners together. The owner was polite and accommodating, allowing us access to his dock for fishing. We had assess to a grill (even had a spare tank if we needed it), 2 kayaks, and a canoe Great area, around 30 min to Burlington and about an hour and change to Montreal. Overall, I'd recommend this place if your looking for a quiet, but not too far removed vacation home!
