About Brad Henson
Aloha from Beth and Brad Henson
Why Brad Henson chose Kailua-Kona
We chose Kona for our second home because of the Aloha we've experienced on the Big Island for nearly 30 years.

Great place, great location, perfect for a quiet vacation.
While the condo is a little on the older side, we found it to be well maintained, clean and comfortable. The condo was stocked with lots and lots of fun gear.
We loved waking up in the morning and enjoying a coffee on the lanai overlooking the ocean. We even saw some dolphins one morning.
If you are looking for a quiet get-away then this is the place.
I wouldn’t recommend it so much for families or young adults as the complex is a mixture of owners and vacation properties and the owners who live there are mostly retired. Our experience leads me to believe that there is tension exists between the owners and renters.
This comes from our experience with the caretaker there. He was always very quick to make sure that you know all the rules and leave complaints with the owners blowing things up way out of proportion.
I’ve always enjoyed staying at VBROs but this time didn’t really feel like a guest, like you do at a hotel. It had nothing to do with the condo because it was nice and in a beautiful location but more with the caretaker there. If I’m paying for a vacation and want to kick back I don’t enjoy walking around on eggshells around the place.
We are sorry that your vacation wasn't perfect for you, due to the on-site manager having to, on several occasions, confront your sons about their extremely loud music at the pool, and for them jumping into the pool when the signs posted clearly state that jumping or diving is not permitted. Sometimes the music was turned down to a level where others wouldn't be bothered, other times, apparently, his instructions were not followed and he was required to notify us of this behavior. He is only there to enforce the rules, and for the most part, people obey those. Your sons "borrowed" a walker from another, disabled, owner, (technically stealing it) without the owner's permission, to more easily bring groceries from the parking lot to the condo. We required that your sons apologize, in person, to the owner of that walker, and they did so. But the most difficult part of your visit was that you had contracted with us for 2 guests during your stay, and there were actually 3, which broke our contract with you. Our contract clearly states that if there are more people inside our home than contracted for, we could have you leave immediately, but we didn't require you to do so, we were still trying to work with you in the hopes your sons would start behaving in a manner that wouldn't bother others. Our guests are important to us, and we go above and beyond with everyone, but we, as owners, must make sure the people in our home there follow posted rules. We tried our best to discuss with you the phone calls we were getting from other owners in the complex, complaining about the problems with your sons but we allowed you to stay even when we realized your contract with us was invalid, due to the number of people staying there. We rely on everyone's good behavior when in our home, and to follow all of the rules which allow for everyone in the complex to have a peaceful, wonderful time. This was embarrassing for us, getting negative calls about people staying in our home there. There might be other properties that you should consider in the future that will look the other way when noise complaints are filed against your family members, or where stealing a walker from a disabled neighbor won't be reported, but we will always demand our guests be respectful of others, and kind to neighbors, and most importantly, honest about their contract with us.
Gorgeous full ocean view
The sunsets here are AMAZING! Looking out over the beautiful lawn and palm trees right in front of the ocean make this a picture perfect setting! The condo is equipped with everything you could possibly want during your stay. Beach towels were a nice addition so you don't have to pack them. We also appreciated the small cooler on drives to the other side of the Island. The parking spot is the absolute closest you can get to the unit and the grounds are kept up very nicely with lots of mature plants. It's true that there is no A/C, but there are plenty of fans and louvered windows to keep the unit cool. Since it faces the ocean we could get a good breeze going from one end of the unit to the other. The kitchen is small, but we didn't think it was an issue as we didn't do much cooking there. The location is good. Far enough away from the local traffic on the main road but only a few minutes drive into Kailua. The hosts give you pages of tips on sights to see, places to eat and ways to make the most of your stay. We really appreciated those suggestions. We would definitely stay here again! Mahalo Beth!
8th visit to Hawaii 4th to Kona Isle- E1 -THE BEST!!
We have stayed at Kona Isle 4 times, 3 different units, always ocean front, E1 was the best. Kona Isle is well kept facility. The unit was clean and had everything needed with lots of recreational "equipment" as well as games for our grand daughter. Brad & Beth, the owners, communicated several times , before and during our stay, to be sure every thing was perfect. They provided a wealth of info about where of to eat, sight see and just have Hawaii fun. Highly recommend their condo. We will return on our next visit to the Big Island.
We are so thrilled that your family had such a great time while staying in our ocean front condo. We strive to do everything in our power to make our guests vacation stay the best they have ever experienced while visiting such a magical place. Besides being truly oceanfront, we love having kids use all the water toys and games we provide. We were honored by your staying in our oceanfront condo and would be thrilled to welcome you back whenever you can return.

Our first and lasting impression was Wow!
We have stayed at the Kona Isle on many occasions, in several different units and have enjoyed everyone of them, but because of its location, E1 stands out as something special.
Unit E1 provides a spectacular first impression. We entered into a light, open, airy unit and a clear, uninterrupted view of the small beach and expansive ocean. The grounds, sea and sky just open up before you. During our 14 day stay we spent many an hour just sitting on the lanai reading or watching the ocean and sunset. The oceanfront beach, BBQs and heated pool, and that does make a difference, are just steps away. As well as providing a sea breeze and fabulous view this location is such that no other unit overlooks you. You feel that the view is all yours to enjoy. Even the parking spot is in a good location.
The unit itself is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The wifi was strong. Beth and Brad have provided everything a family could need for beach and water activities: beach chairs, mats, noodles, snorkelling gear, umbrellas etc.. The unit does not have air conditioning but does have fans and a marvellous sea breeze so the lack of air con is not a problem. Being at the end of E block means that the bedroom benefits from having a large area of glass louvres which provide light and can be opened to give a marvellous through breeze from the lanai.
Beth and Brad care about their guests. This is evident from their generous and prompt response to any questions. From the initial booking to our arrival, communication with Beth and Brad was excellent. They provided a lot of good information about everything from what to pack, where to go and where to shop.
Kona Isle itself is also a gem. Nothing fancy. No golf course, exercise room , tennis courts etc but it has a great location as an quiet, ocean front property within walking distance of downtown. The grounds are impeccably maintained by the diligent property manager.
We have never been disappointed with a vacation at the Kona Isle but unit E1 has become our first choice and we are already thinking of when we can return.

What a great location, minutes to Kona and water front out of the ground floor lani. Loved waking up to the sound of waves and sitting enjoying the morning coffee on the lani. Beautiful grounds, loads of extras to use. Thank you Brad and Beth for letting us enjoy you place.
