Gorgeous beach getaway
I met up here with a friend and all our kids (4 of them). It was a lovely place! The outdoor kitchen, beach and dock are shared with other guests, which worked out well for us since they weren't around too much and when they were they were pleasant and friendly! Mary and James were always around if you needed them, out and about in the yard or accessible by phone. The accommodations are older, but well maintained and clean. I had assumed there was also a private indoor kitchen as well as the outdoor (there is not) but turned out I actually quite liked it. The only issue was that all guests are responsible for cleaning after themselves which i take pretty serisouly, and sometimes there were dishes left behind. There was enough space for all of our food. Even though the weather was a bit hit or miss it was nice to cook and eat outside all while the kids could let loose on the beach. We loved that there were kayaks and a trampoline to keep us busy, and then fishing was so much fun for my oldest. Wasa lake is definitely a hidden gem and this is a great place to stay to enjoy it!
Fun lake get away
Beautiful views, plenty of adventures, lovely clean lake
There is an 8 kilometer walk and bike accessible trail around the lake-shore and a 2.7 kilometer self-guided interpretation trail. The village has been a family vacation destination since the 1950's and advertises the warmest swimming lake in the Kootenays.
