We loved our week spent in unit 207! We had everything we needed and would definitely return...
Fantastic spot in Kauai!!
I have been to Hawaii about 6 times now, first time to Kauai. I usually travel all around the island, but here we felt there was no need to go around to other parts of the island because the north shore was so good. Spent the whole week in Princeville and Hanalei. Exploring little adventurous beach access points, running on the Na Pali coast trail, and some time at the condo pool. Absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean from the Lanai.
We had a great stay at this Princeville condo. It was a great base for all of our day trips. We especially enjoyed Hideaway Beach and doing some snorkeling there. It did get a bit hot during warm and humid days, but cooled in the evenings.
Cozy slice of paradise
Excellent rental experience! Spent a fair bit of our time on the deck gazing out at the ocean. Having the trail access to the beach right out the back was a plus. With it’s quiet and central location meant we walked most places and spent a lot of time outside. Never turned on the TV once. The place is simple and basic, and very comfy. Constant ventilation helps cool things down a bit, but upstairs can be pretty warm without any AC.
Great spot, I’d come back again.
Unbelievable Views, Perfect Princeville Location
Loved this condo and would definitely stay here again! My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary (and it was our second trip to Kauai). Walking distance to two great beaches (Hideaways Beach and Pali Ke Kua Beach) and the breath-taking Queen's Bath (which is muddy but worth the hike). A couple small notes -- there's no air conditioning so if that's a need for you it's a head's up, but with the windows open and fans going, you definitely don't need AC. Also there's lots of snorkel and beach stuff in the upstairs closet, so no need to pack it!
Spectacular place overlooking Hanalei Bay
The situation at Pali Ke Kua couldn’t be better, overlooking Hanalei Bay, with the paved path down to Hideaway Beach in front. That is a steep path, but short, and we managed it daily including one brief muddy patch to what is a very tropical beach with a private feel with enough sandy areas to be manageable, and absolutely superb snorkeling, best we’ve seen: turtles, eels, octopi, and at least fifty varieties of fish.
The condo with a loft has soaring ceilings, making it feel very spacious, and took four of us in comfort. Pitched on the edge of Princeville, it gets the tradewinds strongly, which is great, so you don’t need air conditioning at night, with everything open. Kitchen/dining/living areas are comfortable, and the condo units have separate levels to enter lower and upper units, so you don’t feel you’re ‘upstairs’. The lower units do not have pitched ceilings, and some have free-standing air-conditioning to make them comfortable: go for the upstairs units. There were couples below us while we stayed, but we heard nothing, unless outside. Some equipment comes with the unit— 4 chairs, some snorkeling equipment. We rented equipment to fit cheaply at Hanalei Windsurfing.
Hanalei itself is an easy drive. The parking areas for the beach there are crowded, and it is noticeably busier and more humid than Princeville on the bluff. The road beyond town was still closed in July... Kilauea Lighthouse and Anini are short drives for wildlife or a comfortable family beach (Anini). We ate mostly in, Foodland in Princeville is a good supermarket: the fish is very fresh, go early: and get the Foodland App, you’ll save a significant amount of money. There are restaurants etc there, and Lappert’s is always busy with great ice cream.
We did go one night to the Makana Terrace at the St. Regis, a splurge, but superlative food and a great view, the best of Hanalei Bay in the area. The terrace is covered, so okay even if it showers...
