Nice spacious vacation home
We are a family of 4 adults from California and stayed at the house for 4 nights. This was our first time visiting Vancouver. Honestly, not everything went well but thank God all worked out and we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well equipped if you need and have time to cook. We only prepared quick breakfasts, bought some items earlier from the nearby walmart and then set out visiting places. We rented a car (at the airport when we arrived) and were stuck in traffic just 1 time. So planning ahead and avoiding rush hour on the road will be helpful. Overall, the pictures and descriptions provided on the listing are accurate and the owner communicates fairly well.
Nice, Spacious house
The house is lovely and well maintained. If you like public transportation, the 23nd Street Sky Train station is not too far, and it takes passengers straight into downtown Vancouver.
Lovely property in a great location
Our family of 6 stayed at Salter House when we came to Vancouver for a wedding. I only wish we could have stayed longer because it was very comfortable for all of us. Immaculately clean, just an overall great experience. Keith very quickly responded to the couple of questions we had. If we come back to Vancouver we would definitely stay there again.
Thanks for the great review Mitch, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in our house. You were great guests and we definitely would welcome you back any time! Keith & Family.
Excellent family home
Perfect location. East to get downtown. Very nice home. We were a family of four staying in Vancouver for a wedding. Rooms were spacious and clean. Big kitchen area with a lot of amenities. Thank you Keith for the opportunity to stay here. Highly recommend!!
The home was spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the back deck area. Keith was very good with communications. The neighborhood was quiet and the park at the end of the street was a pleasant surprise. Access to the highways and the Walmart was very easy. The instruction book was very helpful. The one drawback was the additional per person charge for more than 4 people when the listing showed it for 7 people. We've never encountered this before in a booking.
Hi Susan, and thanks for the thoughtful review. We are happy you enjoyed the home and enjoyed your stay. As for he per-person charge above 4, this is not uncommon in our area and we do this becasue we cater to a wide variety of guest groups from small groups of 2, 3 or 4 people to large groups of up to 10 people. The per-guest-per-night above the first 4 allows us to ensure it is fair for those very small groups (so they don't have to pay for the entire home as if they had it fully loaded up) and also for us when it is a large group as the more people stay there the more energy is used (showers, cooking, water) as well as additional cleaning for larger groups (all the beds changed, more linens washed and just more general wear and tear on the home). Thanks again for staying we would definitely welcome you back at any time. Keith & Family.
The house is in desirable Thompson Landing in Queensborough. Steps to a nice park and on the banks of the Fraser River. There are Bike paths, riverside trails and tennis courts, a skate park and other facilities nearby. There is a large shopping complex (Queensborough Landing) within walking distance as well as the Starlight Casino which is also within walking distance.
You can walk about 350 Meters to a bus stop which takes you 5 minutes directly to the 22nd St. Skytrain station (25 minute train into downtown Vancouver core, further East into Surrey, or into North Burnaby or Coquitlam easily. Transit information and trip planning is available on Translink's website: (URL HIDDEN) you can just put in the house's address and your intended destination and voila, a trip plan on transit! Driving it is easy to access anywhere in the Lower Mainland due to the home's close proximity to Highway 91, Highway 17 and Highway 99.
