Why Jim Van Cleave, Owner, Yorktown Cottages chose Yorktown
Perfect location to live, play, raise a family, vacation, or retire! This unique property offers a cottage feel with 2,000+ square feet, and three courtyards with gardens / flowers. Property in the Historic District is rarely available for purchase, so it was a rare opportunity when the previous resident retired from her Yorktown-based business of over 30 years.. We have added several touches throughout the cottages (her former residence and art gallery) that hint to the previous resident and entrepreneur, Ms. Nancy Thomas.
What makes this Cottage unique
--In the heart of the Historic District of Yorktown, VA --Offers proximity to Historic Triangle attractions --Ease of travel between Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown --Trolley stop across from the property that offers complimentary service around Yorktown's Historic District. --Walking distance to the beach and events!

This house is adorable. We had a fantastic time. So close to York beach. We walked and enjoyed all the history in nearby neighborhoods. House is very clean had everything we needed. As some have said the only shower is very small. This was very close to the USCG Training Center which was the reason for our trip. I would definitely recommend this location!!!!!
This home is just perfect! Clean and everything you could possibly need. A beautiful historical area that we wish we could’ve had more time to explore but we were in town for my nieces wedding. The owners were very sweet! It was t cold but there was a chill in the large room and he came over after work and lit the fireplace so we could have in the evening and the morning. If we ever get the time to come back and stay longer we will definitely stay here again.
Yorktown Cottages is one for the books!
The Yorktown cottage was amazing. The cottage is just a short walk to the riverwalk, Yorktown Main Street, several local restaurants, and across the street from the Yorktown trolly stop. The cottage is decorated with period pieces, Nancy Thomas Art, and several personal touches throughout the home. It is truly a home away from home.
This place was hard to leave. Beautiful inside, clean, furniture comfortable, location great for Historic Triangle via Colonial Parkway, very quiet neighborhood. We had four nights and that was not enough to see everything we wanted to see. Like everyone else has posted, the shower is small, but unless you are a giant it is manageable. We found the Yorktown Battlefield audio tour cd after we already drove around. It is on the bookshelf in the lower living room area. The Riverwalk area is an easy walk for dinner, even after a long day of visiting the historic sites. Parking is available if you are too tired to walk. This is just a clean, comfortable place to spend a few days. I am ready to move to Yorktown.
Stayed here ahead of Dorian grazing the Virginian Coast . Message from owners to arrive early which we did, the most amazing property. Beautifully decorated, everything you could need. We had a lovely stay , really didn’t want to leave. Would thoroughly recommend!
Great cottage for a quick beach stay!
We enjoyed our stay at this historic Yorktown beach cottage. The owners were very quick to respond to any of our messages and the property was very clean! The only tricky thing to work around was no real dining table or bar stools to sit at for eating.
