Two bedrooms, three queens, one bath
About Christine Snow
Family inherited property. We have a very high standard for its maintenance and improvements. Experiences and memories thru the generations. The present owners live in MA, ME AND OR. Our children played on the same rocks, foraged for crabs and swam until their lips were blue, just as our father before us and his father before him.
Christine Snow purchased this Cottage in 1999

This was a wonderful vacation for me and my boys! The location is absolutely perfect--very secluded but close to everything you want to do. The beach next door was the perfect spot for us to spend our afternoons hunting for sea glass, checking out the shells, and dipping our feet in the water. I'm sure you could launch a kayak from the beach as well but my kids weren't that adventurous :(
The house is definitely rustic--kind of reminded me of my great-grandmother's house from 30 years ago. But it is well maintained and you can see the owners have been doing some upgrades as needed. There are nice new windows, the kitchen sink has a fairly fancy new faucet, and the kitchen has all of the plates, utensils, glasses, mugs, knives, and serving pieces you could ask for. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were all in great shape, as were the bath towels.
All in all, this is a great house in a fantastic location, and you really can't beat it for the price. We would definitely stay here again!!
Beautiful and quiet
Beautiful and quiet. Very clean, airy, and spacious. I only wished we were able to meet someone from the property as the house was in an isolated area.
Awesome spot we'd come back to
This was a great spot to quiet the mind and relax. Loved the tide's flow and it helped set the cadence for our week here at Spruce Head. Only reason for a 3 on Mgt Communication was aside from an email to ask about check in, there was no need to speak to the owner or property manager. Nicely kitted kitchen and lots of windows to drink in the ocean/island views.
Perfect Maine vacation spot
Great location, comfortable cottage, easy communication with owner.
Beautiful spot close to many interesting attractions. Chris was a great host.
Great guests; respectful and courteous. Welcome back any time.
Lovely place to get away from it all
If you are the type to want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. No WiFi, no cable TV, no phone. (Cell service is spotty depending on your carrier - for AT&T there’s no service.) The view is spectacular and peaceful. A small beachy area reveals itself when the tide goes down, and is a great place to hunt for shells or sea glass. Sit on the porch or grab a chair outside and just soak it all in. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen stocked with dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc. The gas fireplace was most welcome on chilly evenings/mornings. Rent a DVD in town and snuggle in for the night! Takeout can be had a mile in either direction, or drive the 15 minutes into Rockland for a variety of choices, or a grocery store. We had a lovely time!
Mid-coast location with the Real Maine Experience: beaches, sunbathing, swimming, antiquing, boating, fishing, hiking or relaxing. Cheap eats or fine dining and shopping in nearby Camden (20 minutes drive) or Rockland (10 minute drive). Best lobster dinner: (Miller's outdoor dining). Rockland: Home of the North Atlantic Blues Festival (July) and The famous Lobster Festival (Aug). Farnsworth Art Museum (Rockland) and the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Nearby Port-Clyde and Rockland offer ferries to the local islands, including Monhegan Island: home of native artists.
