About Susan Simpson
Aloha potential guests. We are Susan, Mark and Steven. We purchased this second condo in June of 2007 and hope to make your time here as enjoyable as ours. We come to Maui twice a year and take great pride in our condos. We are constantly making improvements and upgrades to make your stay (and ours) as care free as possible. We hope you will visit soon. And don’t forget to check our guest comments too. With much Aloha Susan, Mark and Steven Maui No Ka Oi

Why Susan Simpson chose Kihei
As frequent travelers to the Hawaiian Islands, we have visited all of them over the last 30 years numerous times. And while the other islands have their strong points, the charms of Maui can be found no where else in the island chain. Our first visit was to the Northern part of Maui but each time we returned we found better weather and properties lie in the south. In all of the times we rented at many properties we found the Maui Kamaole to be the best property in Kihei, bar none. So it should come as no surprise when considering our purchase that we chose the Maui Kamaole. The complex is low density, unlike the hotels in the North where you can barely find a chaise poolside. The grounds are beautiful, unlike any complex in the area. Complex management is the best and the property is maintained to a very high standard. We love the property so much we bought two units and return twice a year to work and play in paradise. We hope you visit soon, you will also fall in love with the magic of Maui.
What makes this Condo unique
The Road to Hana: Journey along the wet side of the island with all the waterfalls, it is wonderful. Stop at Keane peninsula and bring a picnic lunch for Waianapanapa State Park. Then go past Hana at 7 pools (O’heo Gulch)—spectacular. Lahaina: Lahaina is charming, has good food, and quaint shops. Go early. It gets hot and crowded later in the day. Leave the condo at 8:30 or so and head up the coast, it takes about 40 minutes. Ka’anapali: There are many fabulous resorts; most have been updated in the past few years. Sometimes it is fun to go to Whaler’s Village and/or go to the hotels and just walk around. Park at the Marriot, and just cruise the strip, which must include the Hyatt Regency. Haleakala Crater: Watch the sunrise from the highest mountain on Maui. If you are not an early bird, you can see the crater from the front door of the condo, if it is clear go for it. Haleakala is 10,000 feet high, so it is cold. Wear warm clothes. Total trip is about 4 hours. Pa’ia and Up Country: Pa’ia hosts some nice art galleries, get out of the car and take a stroll. Upcountry you’ll find Panaole’s (Cowboys) and very different countryside including cactus, horses and some very charming small Hawaiian towns. Wailea/Makena: We are 2 blocks from Wailea. The Shops of Wailea has some really upscale shops, and free parking. The beaches in this area are really great. Big Beach, Makena and Keawakapu are worth checking out. Whale Watch: We take Pacific Whale Foundation Whale Watch trip out of Lahaina or Ma'alea Harbor. Whale season runs from mid December through April so if you are lucky enough to go on this outing, do it. They also do a dolphin adventure to Lanai’I which we do in the summer.

Some items need to be replaced
Excellent in all ways except for the loud A/C, outdated coffee maker and TV. In fact, there were instructions on how to turn on the TV. Also, the bed was so high I could not see the alarm clock unless I looked down. I was afraid that if I fell out of bed, I might hit my head on the end table. Finally, the loud in-wall air conditioner is located at floor level opposite the bed and blows directly on the heads of those in bed.
To address the issues raised by this guest…
The next guest called to tell us the coffee maker wasn't working reliably so we immediately had it replaced it for them. We would be happy to address issues like this for future guests so please feel free to contact us.
Regarding the TV, we think the reference is to the cable box instructions. The cable and associated equipment is the same for all units in this complex as it is contracted with Spectrum by the AOAO and included in our monthly maintenance fee. Our living room TV is actually only 3 years old; 42” LED HD Smart TV Wi-Fi enabled. The master TV is brand new and equal in function.
As with the cable, the air conditioner style/location in our condos are the same as all condos throughout the complex and we replace them with the best quality units available (LG or Friedrich) when they fail.
The master bed mattress is a bit higher than most but this is because we provide the better quality hotel style pillow top for the comfort of our guests.
In any event, we value our guest feedback and are happy to correct any issues within our control while our guests are there. We outfit our condos for the owners' comfort as we come twice a year, so we expect our guests will benefit as well. We hope you’ll consider staying with us.
Another great stay at MKK109
Enjoyed another comfortable stay at MKK109. Always clean and well stocked with all the amenities. Beautiful complex and easy parking. Owners are wonderful to work with making sure your stay is all a tropical destination vacation should be. Certainly recommend this unit should you be looking for reasonable priced home away from home!
Very pleasant and comfortable condo
Beautifully appointed condo with tasteful decor. Nice and clean. It was very well stocked with all the necessary supplies. The owners have done a great job of having all the necessary beach supplies chairs, umbrella, cooler, boogie boards etc. All the kitchen appliances were fairly new and in great condition. The condo is located in the quiet part of Kihei across from Kamaole III beach and very close Wailea. The Maui Kamaole community is also maintained really well. Condo has an assigned parking spot close to the unit. We had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this condo to our friends and family.
Excellent choice in South Kihei
Great location. Condo was in immaculate condition on our arrival. Well equipped with all basic necessities for the kitchen and bath beach activities. Sitting out on the lanai listening to The birds every morning was perfect. Would definitely stay here again.
Well equipped condo in beautiful resort.
The resort is beautiful and the condo has a great location and is really well stocked.
Great condo and a great location
You can tell this condo is set up for owners with all of the appointments and amenities. We have stayed at other properties where you could tell it was only a rental but this condo has a full compliment of kitchen and beach gear not to mention the Hawaiian themed decor, new appliances and a modern entertainment system.
But what we really liked was the location in the upper part on the complex and how quite it was, even as close as it is to the Tropical pool. The front door faces the pool and the rear lanai has a very quiet and private feel.
We enjoyed the area near Wailea and all of the shops and snorkeling opportunities. And there are restaurants right there along Kihei Rd like the 5 Palms, Café O’Lei and Fred’s Mexican Café.
The owners were responsive, answered all of our questions and made the booking process quite easy. When we return to Maui we will try to get this unit again.
