About George C Wygant
My Husband George and I live in the Hudson Valley in New York. My grandfather owned the lake camp next door to this property for 50 years until it fell out of family hands in the late 80's. I spent every summer there with my family on my mother's side from the time I was born until it was sold. We bought this camp next door to enjoy old traditions and new with family and friends.
George C Wygant purchased this House in 2018
Why George C Wygant chose Glover
This area of Vermont, and this lake in particular is very serene and relaxing. The camp is on a beautiful part of the lake, where it's all woods behind, and lake right in front. All of the camps for the most part have been passed down from generation to generation, and all of our neighbors I have known for many years. They are very helpful and the friendliest folks.
What makes this House unique
I describe this camp and this lake as "soul cleansing". Fishing, being on or near the water, listening to the loons cry while enjoying your morning coffee on the deck or screened sun room. You can hear echoes of folks and children all around the lake when sitting outside. The fishing is amazing! Head down to Glover to Currier's General Store and grab some bait and lures. You can also find just about anything else you need there for your stay. Head across the street to the Busy Bee Cafe for breakfast or lunch and some of the best homemade pie in New England. It's a tiny little place, it's been there since I was young. The owners are super friendly, ask them anything about the area and they gladly help. The Canadian border is only a half an hour north. Bring your passports if you would like to travel across the border. Newport is the city just before the border, and it sits on Lake Memphramagog. You can do some shopping there for groceries and other goods. There is a fantastic restaurant called the East Side. Look for their website online. The North East Kingdom is such a beautiful place. Come and enjoy in the spring, summer or fall.

Loved Shadow Lake!
We stayed here for a week with 6 people and 2 dogs and there was plenty of room for everyone! We spent a lot of time in the lake and took a couple day trips to St. Johnsbury and Waterbury. George and Stacey were great to deal with and provided everything we needed! The general store in town and the grocery store in Barton are close by and have everything you might need. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to come back again next summer!
LOVED THE CAMP
