Emmy and Cameron Rae purchased this Bungalow in 2013
Why Emmy and Cameron Rae chose Chaffee Park
We are located in Chaffee Park, which is slightly north of Sunnyside and the Highlands (LoHi). Chaffee Park is an up and coming and highly desirable location; it’s quiet, conveniently located (in Denver, to the mtns, and to Boulder), and the average traveler can still afford it. From The Hip Bungalow, you are one to five miles from countless shops and restaurants. You can use Zuni Park (a couple of blocks away) as a search reference for distance to locations. Zuni park itself offers the only unobstructed view of down town Denver. To ensure our listing is 100% accurate, please be aware that while average houses in Chafee Park sell for 400-500K, you will find some that are not as maintained as The Hip Bungalow. If this bothers you, do not book the Hip Bungalow. Suggestions for fun areas close to the Hip Bungalow: LoHi (Lower Highlands), LoDo (Downtown), RiNo, and Tennyson /Lowell Street (5- 15 minute drive), Baker, South Broadway, and Uptown 15-20 minute drive). Between the driveway and the street, there are at least two parking spots at all times as well as additional street parking in front of the house or nearby.

Just the right size!!
My family and I were headed to Keystone from Iowa and needed a place for 5 adults. This gem was just the right fit. Modern (hip), clean, great use of space and an amazing back yard. We hope to stay again and get to use the outdoor space. It was just a bit too cold.
Great house. Well appointed. Location was convenient to downtown .
We just stayed one night at this wonderful bungalow but it felt like home. Everything you need is there. Great backyard with a super cozy inside. Would definitely stay again and will absolutely recomend to our friends and family.
Great backyard and cozy home
We loved staying here. We only stayed for one night but it was a wonderful location. Easy drive/ride to everything.
A nice relaxing getaway spot, perfect for the vibe I was looking for.
This property was the perfect place for the vibe we were looking for. Emmy and Cameron were great hosts who got back to us with any questions we had. It was clean, nicely decorated, with a great back yard. Located in a great spot for anything you feel like doing in the area. It’s all just a short car ride away.
Good place to stay while you explore CO
Everything about Denver was new for us. This Bungalow is in a neighborhood of 1,000s(?) of other bungalows. The neighborhood was reasonably clean and quiet and seemed safe. Starbucks within walking distance!
The back yard was a nice place to relax for a meal with friends. It was mid 90's the first night though, so we didn't stay outside too long that night.
The interior is modern and comfortable. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked. There were even cold drinks in the fridge!
One oddity . . . the driveway is so steep that when we backed in with our rented SUV the front dragged. We always pulled in after that.
Opportunity for improvement:
1) There appears to be no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the window is jammed shut. So when it is hot outside, it would be nice to not have to let that hot steam into the house.
2)To be fair, I never brought this up to the owners during our stay, so it's possible I was doing something wrong, but . . . I set the AC on PERMENANT HOLD at 64F. Every day when we came back it was reset to 84F! That really sucked when it was so hot outside. And since the AC comes from the floor, not the ceiling, it takes a long time to cool down. While it's possible I was doing something wrong, I am quite familiar with programable thermostats. Anyway.
So we would definitely recommend this place to others. We jammed a lot of fun into a few days in CO and having this place to come back to was great! Though we didn't really need to correspond with the owners once we got inside, they seem very accommodating.
Off Topic: If you ever get a chance to experience Red Rocks Amphitheater, go for it! One Republic was Awesome!!
