About this property

Tuscan Villa: Bride's dressing room, Fireplace Lodge-size

Dahlonega / Dawsonville : Unplug and unwind in the North Georgia hills in a Tuscan Villa located in the historic Auraria community of Lumpkin County. Lots of quartz rock in this house, quarried off the surrounding land, which was once a booming gold mining district in the 1800s. Located just up the hill from the Etowah Tunnel, known to many kayak & canoe enthusiasts as the 1/4-mile-long abandoned mining tunnel bored to divert the river to mine gold from the river bottom. Situated between Dawsonville & Dahlonega. This house is perfect for family gatherings for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, reunions, retreats and life. Just right for chilling out with the subtle sounds of the nearby Etowah River.

Fun time
This property is unique and interesting. The host is responsuve and kind. The hoise is spacious and has a beautifully large porch. We loved the long table in the middle of the main house. It was fun to enjoy a birthday meal all together. Lastly, my bed was extreemely comfortable. We will go back.

The pictures online don’t look like the house. It was beyond beautiful. Just enough space for my guest..the kitchen had everything you could possibly think of. Host was great respond to our questions.

Great for bachelorette!
The property was just as described- clean, comfortable, and spacious. It is close enough to travel into town but still feels very secluded. It was wonderful!

Great Visit!
James was so fantastic! He met us at the property to show us around, and was so hospitable. The only thing that I would’ve changed is that it could have been a tiny bit cleaner (random hairs in sinks), and the drive way was terrible. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Overall, beautiful property and great host!

Why they chose this property

We liked this house because of its natural and unique style; a Verner original that seemed to have roots. It is made for family and reconnecting with nature. Verner was a unique man, the Old Buzzard, who had no fear of hard work. His famous grandson learned his craft of woodworking from the influence of this grandfather. We picked up where he left off to transform The Buzzard's Roost into Off The Grid Lodge to continue a unique experience for generations to enjoy; for you to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The property is located close to many attractions in the North Georgia Mountains, yet private and secluded enough to feel you are truly Off The Grid.
