About Karen or Roger
Our family has owned this home through 5 generations since 1896. Now our 13 grandchildren come every summer and the fun and memories continue to live on. It is a very special home, one of the few original classic Victorian beach homes left on Pine Point Beach. A classic, but with all the modern conveniences to have a relaxed time with everything you might need. We do our very best to ensure that our guests have a wonderful vacation at our home.
Karen or Roger purchased this House in 1896
Why Karen or Roger chose Pine Point
Our property extends all the way from the street to the sandy beach, about 1 1/2 acres. Our private beach path leads from our large beachside yard to the beach, a safe place for children. We also have a grove of woods between the street and our home, giving lots of privacy. The ocean view is beautiful from all three of our porches and affords amazing sunrises in the morning, views of the islands and Wood Island lighthouse.
What makes this House unique
Our guests especially love the quiet neighborhood. There are no condos or hotels close by, so the beach is rarely crowded. We also have some wonderful restaurants, gift shops and a lobster pound within walking distance with fabulous seafood, pizza and BBQ. They also love how well stocked the kitchen is with just about everything you would think to need. The favorite spot in the house is our sunporch which is heated during cooler days and our screened porch with an extra large table for outside eating. The large yard is an excellent place for yard games. Our flower filled gazebo with a propane grill is where the outside cooking happens. All porches and the yard have lots of tables and chairs to enjoy our home from many different spots.

Fantastic Family Fall Foliage and Lobster Road Trip
House was perfect - loved the porches, the beach access, the roominess of it all. Convenient to Portland for our daytime activities, but we loved coming home to have a drink and a walk on the beach. Sunrises were beautiful, long beach walks each day. Close to so many outstanding food options. We just ran out of time to try them all ! I would stay here again - most definitely !
Perfect beach house getaway
The house was the perfect combination of homey comfort and amazing beach locale. In addition the property is conveniently located and well equipped. The property is large so for families there is a lot of space for kids to play.
Definitely considering renting again!
Fantastic Maine Retreat
If you are searching for a quintessential Maine cottage with space galore, then Seabird Cottage is your space! We had a family reunion of sorts with 8 adults for a week and never felt cramped or crowded. We used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch - the kitchen had just about every gadget you need to prepare everything, from lobster to cookies! The access to the beach was easy, down their private path. The water is visible from the glassed in porch and upstairs bedrooms. Such peace and solitude watching the sunrise over the horizon and listening to the waves lull you to sleep! Do not hesitate to experience this home for yourself! You will not be disappointed!!!
We loved this house. The view speaks for itself. Our weather was mixed so early in the summer, so the enclosed porch was where we spent a lot of time. Loved that room. It was very kid friendly and plenty of room to spread out. There are great restaurants and conveniences nearby. Very close to the attractions at Old Orchard; great for families. Both the owner and property manager were easy to work with and accommodating. I’m just sorry vacation is over, will definitely plan to return.
It was just like I remembered...our first time!
Our first time here, but it felt like our old summer house. Very nicely appointed but not modern. It is rare to find a house to rent with 5 bed rooms that still feels like the way summer homes used to be. Just about everything we needed to cook was right there.
It was quiet and comfortable. Lots of places to sit, cozy living room, great heated porch, one screened in and another just open to everything. So no matter how many people were visiting, we always felt there was a quiet place to sit and read or talk comfortably.
Easy walk to the beach for Mom through lovely beach grass. It is a quiet area where even the houses nearby don't seem to impinge on the feeling of being away from it all. We were happy to explore the area and refuges and went over to Prout's Neck one day for dinner. Never made it to Portland as we had so much nearby.
June was lovely and took care of our every need. We will definitely be back again.
Lovely beach house in coastal Maine.
We stayed here for a family reunion, and the house was as advertised. You can tell that it was built years ago and has had several additions added over the years, but It has all the modern amenities you would need.
It's a large house and my favorite feature was the large wrap-around porch that has both enclosed (and heated) and covered but open air portions. The open air porch is a great spot to have your morning coffee and look out at the dunes and ocean beyond. There is a short path to the ocean and beach.
The property is located within easy walking distance of very good BBQ and seafood restaurants.
In short, this would be a very suitable destination for travelers that need to accommodate a large crew and want to enjoy lovely coastal Maine.
