Why Sandy Dargie chose Kissimmee
We wanted a property with a large plot area but away from water and trees to avoid insect issues. We also wanted a south facing deck.

Pool issues, but pretty good house.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and we appreciated the owners willingness to work with us on actually renting the unit.
The night before we were to arrive we received a message stating that something happened with the pool. To which I responded that I hoped the matter would be remedied prior to our arrival; as the pool/spa was the main reason we selected the property. My family loves swimming and we had teenagers with us that I knew would just disappear into their rooms if I didn't give them another option.
I spoke to the property manager once I landed in Orlando around 7 pm. He indicated that half of the water had been maliciously let out half of the pool's water and he was just about finished refilling it. I asked at that point if it would affect the heating of the pool/spa, to which he replied no. He stated that the pool was currently reading 84 degrees and should heat to 85. I questioned in my head how that was possible if he just turned off the water, which was likely coming from a cold hose, but figured I by morning it would likely be warm. It wasn't. The read was 78.4. I thought that maybe we could just use the spa... it felt the same as the pool. So we left out to do other things thinking it just needed more time. It never warmed up. Despite seeing many of the neighbors swimming I thought that maybe it wasn't warm enough outside for the pool to heat up. So, I stopped at the club house to "test the waters". The pool was slightly warmer at 82 degrees, the spa was down right hot! Pool heat money was clearly a waste for us.
The house was clean, but could maybe use a tiny bit more dusting on things like light switches. I never felt like I was living on top of someone, if that makes sense. So the house was very clean. The dishes should be checked between guests as some of the pots had food residue. There were plenty of dishes to use, including shatterproof for the pool area - we used these to gaze longingly at the pool.
I like that they don't automatically throw away things left by previous guest. Like salt and pepper, aluminum foil, laundry detergent, and pool toys.
I liked the house and would rent again... but only in summer months.
Convenient to Disney amd Restaurants
We had a good stay overall but I have a few comments because I am an overly picky person.
Pros: The unit was clean and spacious with a great floor plan and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have 3 bathrooms. The location to Disney is great (15 min or so) with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.
Cons: The picture of the pool is taken from an angle that doesn't really show how close you are to all the other pools so there isn't much privacy from the neighbors. If you have kids and like to party then this is perfect. At times there were so many people in their pools that it was like one big party often going into the late hours. I understand that it's a community setting but with all the rules and restrictions imposed on me as a renter I was a little surprised at how "loose" they are with the amount of noise tolerated. And I really didn't want to be a complainer and report anyone either. The pool itself could have used a little cleaning and was heavily chlorinated. Also the fact that you can't control the AC temperature was a little frustrating. Two of the bedrooms do not have ceiling fans and were only barely tolerable with the floor fans provided. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable but it would have been nice to have it a little cooler. The only other thing I thought was a little strange was that the owner showed up our first morning there to change the filters. I kind of felt like it was an excuse to see who the renters are. After all, can't the filters be changed when the unit isn't occupied?
Very nice with all the necessary kitchen and household items. Beautiful pool that was great with the kids. Only minutes to Disney.
Had a fantastic time at Emerald Glen. Would highly recommend the villa to anyone looking for a family villa close to all Florida’s attractions. The kids had a ball relaxing in the pool and enjoying the games room when away from the parks. We will definitely return in the future.
Lovely spacious house with all facilities
We enjoyed our stay at Emerald Glen. The house was nice and clean, pool is large and warm. Location is spot on, very close to Disney and Universal. Definitely stay again, thank you.
Beautiful place in an awesome community
This place is awesome and very well maintained. The kitchen was stocked with just about everything for our cooking needs to make our family breakfast morning great. Restaurants and grocery shopping close by. Very relaxing getaway experience in a very spacious and clean community. I would highly recommend this place and would love to come back. Our family had an awesome time during our stay. My only disappointment was that there was no grill however, it didn’t take away from our vacation. The pool was great and we thank you for the memorable stay. This place ROCKS!

Some of the best local courses:
Celebration Golf Club
Orange County National
Some tips for golf - the golf courses tend to be busier when it's cooler (Nov. through to April) which also means more expensive. Nearly every course will provide a buggy which is compulsory and remember to keep up with the group in front as they do tend to check how fast you are playing and encourage you to keep a reasonable pace. If you play yourself or as a two they will try and pair you with others if it's busier, so be prepared to be sociable. When people golf on holiday they are not always members back home so you may need to be patient with them if they don't know all the etiquette. If you are looking for a bargain then it's cheaper to golf after 12 on most courses but there is a reason for that, it's very hot in the summer and there's a good chance you will get a thunderstorm in the afternoon.
