A Magical Place
This is the second time I've stayed at this property and both times it has been heaven on earth. It's a very comfortable flat and the view is absolutely stellar. It makes one feel as if you are in another world. To be there during the Fete des Lumieres and to light candles and be part of the experience was amazing. Christine is an absolutely lovely hostess and made every part of the stay wonderful.
Great stay in Lyon
Christine was wonderful and so is the property. Christine came up to meet us and spent considerable time giving us tips for Lyon and where to go to site seeing and eat. All her suggestions were spot on. The apt is in a historic and quiet area. Church bells ring during daylight hours which adds to the charm along with cobblestone streets and 17c buildings. The views are fantastic and we would have loved to have stayed longer. Thank you Christine for a great stay
Extraordinary apartment in an extraordinary city
The apartment is as beautiful as the pictures suggest. It is in an extremely old building, as the stairs attest to, but the apartment is quite beautifully renovated and decorated. The view over the city is stunning. The owner, after a problem getting an Uber lift to the train station (warning, Uber can't come on the street, which has restricted access, though a cab can be called, we learned), went above and beyond and drove us to the train herself. (Thank you, Christine!) The climb up the street is an issue if you think you are not up to it. This can be avoided by taking the metro to the stop past "Vieux Lyon" and walking a short distance down. We would definitely love to stay here again during any future trip to Lyon.
The property was fantastic - great location, stunning views and a lovely host. Made for a thoroughly enjoyable long weekend in this beautiful city.
Perfect short break in Lyon
Christine was so helpful with our booking questions and with the lead up to our stay. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided, a real home from home. Our children had the bedroom so we were in the dogs bed which was very comfortable indeed. The views of the old town were amazing, I enjoyed watching the sun go down with a glass of wine! The city is very vibrant and cosmopolitan, very easy to negotiate the transport. Definitely worth getting the Lyon City Card. It makes life easier and as we did 3 museums (included in the price of the card) we got more than our money’s worth. The apartment is on one of the oldest streets of Lyon, we loved this area of the city. Trabouling was great fun! Children will love the various parks located by the river. Hope to return again sometime! Thank you Christine
Wonderful apartment with view
I loved my stay at LaColline! It is located on one of the oldest streets in Lyon; the views of the city from the apartment and the outside space are well worth the hill climb :) Christine is an attentive host, easy to communicate with, quick to respond and her husband Bruno provided clear instructions on getting to the apartment from the train station. Lyon has wonderful outdoor markets and great restaurants, I enjoyed delicious lunches at Daniel & Denise in St.Jean and Croix Rousse. Lyon is a wonderful city to visit, I hope to return again and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Christine & Bruno for sharing your home!
The apartment is in the most tourist district of the city. Everything is within walking distance. You will be in the heart of Old Lyon, just a little above the busy streets and enjoy the calm and the view. Our house is on a hillside so you have to go up or down in our paved lane. It is possible to descend only if you take the funicular to return otherwise it takes a hundred meters of climbing. Roman theaters and Roman ruins are nearby. The medieval quarter is there. FourviereBasilica, gardens and incredible views of the city are within 300 meters. Guignol theater down the street. Many museums are within walking distance: Fine Arts, archaeological, Gadagne Museum (history of Lyon), fabrics museum, printing, miniatures, robots etc. You can take a vaporetto (boat) to go to the new Confluence district. Countless restaurants are nearby. Addresses are proposed in the folder in the apartment. Place Bellecour which is the heart of Lyon is a 5 minute walk. for children there are gardens everywhere, tree climbing on the hill, the pool on the Rhone, Guignol down ... It is possible to park on the street but it must first borrow the access to the district board. So you have to park in a nearby street (rue des Farges, Place des Minimes) or the St. George parking on the quay Fulchiron.
