Condo, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)
About Rick Rosa
We just had some sashimi and garlic bread, watched the sunset, and we couldn't be happier!
Rick Rosa purchased this Studio in 2003
Why Rick Rosa chose Kailua-Kona
This studio condo was a dream come true for my wife and I when we purchased it in February 2003 from Linda and Grant Baseman. We feel that it is the nicest studio in the Kona Islander complex.

Firstly Rick was really easy to deal with and his condo is clean and well organized. The location can't be beat steps away from beaches, restaurants, pubs and the market. We loved the condo so much we asked Rick to block us out 14 days for the same time next year. The pool and hot tub were really nice at the end of a long day.
Very pleasant and convenient accomodation.
Nice location for walking in Kona and handy to Trolly that runs up and down the shoreline to the Sheraton Hotel.
Pleasant neighbors. Delightful balcony sitting area.
Hope to re1turn.
Great location right where you’d want to be in Kona - close to restaurants and shops, and right across from the ocean. Unit was clean, air conditioner worked well and kitchenette was well stocked. There were also good beach accessories (towels, chairs, umbrella etc) which were great to have. Thanks Rick!
great location, very close to shopping and dining
Older but well maintained condo. Mature plants, trees, shrubs give it a nice Hawaiian native feeling that we feel is much nicer than the "modern" hotels. Not much has changed in town from 25 years ago, but with many more people there is a lot of activity, and also more "free-loaders" that seem to locate themselves and their junk at the nicer places. That is the sad part . . . . For the environment and the visitors.
Thanks for the review! The people that don't belong across Ali'i Drive
are the only downfall to a beautiful spot! If everyone in the neighborhood
didn't feed them three square meals a day they would move on! Cheers!
We could not have been happier with our stay. The condo was spotless. We thought the location was the best on the big island. Within walking distance of so many shops and great restaurants. The bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We loved that we could walk a couple minutes down the road to the farmers market for fresh fruit. Everything about our trip to Hawaii was fantastic, and this condo was a big part of it.
Thanks for the kind thoughts! We hope you are able to come back soon!
Cheers! Rick and Colleen
I recommend this location because it honestly made our stay in Hawaii awesome. Being in the center of Kona made getting food simple after a hot day in the sun. This also meant that we didn't have to worry about finding parking. The apartment is small, but remember you're not going to spend much time there. We traveled with a 1.5 year old and the property manager did a great job 'baby proofing' the apartment prior to our arrival (We didn't even ask). The complex where the apartment is located is clean with a pool. We were worried about parking but wasn't an issue during our stay. You can clearly see the ocean from the patio. Accessing the ocean is easy - there is a small spot where you can cross the street and go for a dip.
The kitchen has the basic things you need -
Bowls - plates - hot plate - microwave - small frig. There is also a farmers market almost next door where you can buy fresh fruit and souvenirs.
The only thing I wish the apartment had was a King size bed (it has a queen) and a desk (I just worked from the coffee table).
I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the Big Island!
Thanks for your thoughts! Hope you can get
back to the Big Island sometime soon!
Cheers! Rick and Colleen
