About Jeffrey Marquie
I lived in Buenos Aires from 2006-2010 and loved it so much that I purchased my own condominium. It is my home away from home--where I stay anytime I visit. I'm a full time real estate broker living in Downtown St Louis, Missouri. I take pride in my residence and enjoy sharing it with others when I'm not in the country.
Jeffrey Marquie purchased this Condo in 2009
Why Jeffrey Marquie chose Palermo
I wanted to purchase in a new building foremost. Many of the older buildings in Buenos Aires do not have modern systems or elevators. My other criteria was that it HAD to be located in Palermo Soho, the most vibrant neighborhood in the city! This neighborhood is very safe and popular with tourists.
What makes this Condo unique
The condo has a great floor plan that feels almost like a two bedroom residence. The queen bedroom has it's own door off the hallway. The living room/kitchen area also has a door from the hallway adding privacy if someone is sleeping in this area. Each guest can access the hallway (and bathroom) without disturbing the other rooms. The living room sofa converts to a full size bed with sheets---so use it as a living room by day and a second bedroom by night!
Check-in: 4:00 p.m.
Check-out: 12:00 p.m.
Smoking ok on the balcony only
Property has been leased long term for over a year! Now available for nightly rentals!
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
A super location!
The apartment is modern and well equipped, and the location is wonderful. No matter which direction you walk, you will find a variety of restaurants and shops. The only drawback was the bed. It was too low, almost on the floor.
The local manager was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Hi Terry, Thanks for your comments. The apartment has a platform bed in the bedroom (as shown in the photos) with a Simmons Beauty rest mattress that was custom built for the modern decor of the apartment. There is another sleeping option (as the apartment can sleep up to 4) The sofa converts to a full size bed in the living room. We have sheets for this bed. I apologize if we didn't make you aware of that second option. I really appreciate your review and hope you'll stay with us again. It really is one of the best locations in the city! Thanks again!
Great location, great stay in Buenos Aires!
The apartment was nice and basic and had everything I needed. Good access to shopping, public transportation, shopping and restaurants. Guille, the local contact, was an incredibly helpful and gave me some great tips on what to see and do. It isn't a quite neighborhood, but I was forwarned by reviews and came prepared. Overall I had a great stay and would definitely return to the same property on a future visit.
Thanks so much for your review I really appreciate it
Great apartment in a funky neighbourhood with the best of BA within easy distance.
Well laid out apartment, comfortable, and safe.
Jeffrey was responsive before, during & after, refunded our security deposit promptly. Guille, local property manager, was so helpful & always available via WhatsApp for questions e.g she advised us on exchanging USD to ARS pesos, restaurants, transportation, & culture. Use their car from and to the airport, avoids stress on arrival and delivers you to the apartment where Guille awaits you. We paid cash (USD from & ARS back to the airport).
Kitchen has all you need to cook but with so many good restaurants we only had made breakfast there.
TV includes HBO. Guille delivered a big new TV during our stay.
Lots of closet space with a large mirror in the bedroom.
Great eating places all around: Chori (featured in the “Feed Phil” Rosenthal travel series) is good for choripan (sausage on a bun); La Barata (best non-touristy parrilla, excellent entrana (skirt steak) and “mollejas”, and huge egg and potato tortilla for a fine breakfast next day); cafe Lattente (excellent flatwhites and cortados); avoid nearby La Cabrera (touristy, chewy steak, and ice cream in a styrofoam cup...)
Excellent grocery (wine, water, bread, cheese, yoghurt, great pears! etc.) Cordial around the corner on Jorge Luis Borges.
Many buses to all major sites in BA. You may find a Subte card on the kitchen counter, so all you do is top it up (ARS200 will get you 8 rides) at a local "kiosco". The BA Cómo Llego transit app is useful for getting around.
The bed is a little low but very comfortable so we slept well through weekend late night street noise. The apartment is going to be repainted which would make it even better.
Though not required by law, we asked about CO and smoke alarms, and Guille and Jeff delivered one of each, so we felt safe.
Tips: The laundry service, Lavadero Viejo Palermo, at Costa Rica 4836 is close, fast, inexpensive. US$30/day was enough (convert to ARS) for Subte, tips to waiters, coffee shops, quick snacks etc. Credit cards for restaurant meals, shopping, groceries, are easy. Need a leather bag, belt, wallet? Gustavo, ex-lawyer, owner and artisan at Annoni, Nicaragua 4827 (Jorge Luis Borges and Thames), makes the best.
Bottom line: Perfectly located apartment with everything in Buenos Aires within easy reach. Thank you Jeff and Guille!
Thanks so much for your review Tyrone! We really appreciate the feedback!
Nice neat and cute place in Buenos Aires
Well kept one bedroom in a good and safe neighborhood. Easy access to all airports, subway, super markets, restaurants which includes Asian food also.
Most importantly it is managed by customer caring and service oriented Mrs. Guillermina who answers to ur concerns on ASAP basis
Great for families with excellent location!
We were well taken care of from our arrival at the airport to leaving.
The property manager Guillaume arranged a taxi to collect us and met us at the property where a bottle of wine, soda for the kids and some biscuits were there for us to enjoy. She was b super friendly and helpful. Any questions or recommendations were answered promptly through WhatsApp.
The property was extremely comfortable and in a central location close to lots of restaurants and cafes.
I would definitely have stayed here again in our return to BA at the end of the trip if the property wasn't already booked.
Great location and property manager was fantastic. Easy access to everything you need.
Zero issues with the check in process and getting around. It was a perfect option for our short stay in Palermo.
Thanks so much for your comments. We'd love to have you back anytime!
Located in the fashion and shopping mecca of Buenos Aires on a quiet residential street Palermo Soho. Palermo Soho is the most exclusive neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Because there are many tourists in this neighborhood, it is considered to be a safe neighborhood and you'll find that English is widely spoken in many of the reaturants
