About Annie Comfort
Paul and Annie Comfort share a love for this little, authentic coastal community. Each have deep roots in the community and have participated in local theater and music. Paul bought the home that is now Annie's Cottage over 20 years ago with hopes of entertaining friends there. A bachelor for many years, he was a customer of Annie's when she was a sales clerk in the 1970's & 80's at a local Radio Shack. He worked in marine electronics in the nearby fishing village of Charleston and later was the technical director at a local theater. Annie moved away after college and, after the death of her first husband, returned to Coos Bay where they met again and fell in love after working on a music project together. After fire destroyed the top floor of the Cottage, they were wed and rebuilt the Cottage in 2004 with the dream of sharing it with people just like them who just need a peaceful getaway from time to time.
Annie Comfort purchased this House in 1983
Why Annie Comfort chose Coos Bay
We've always loved the Oregon coast, and the Coos Bay area is full of unspoiled beauty. The non-commercialized beaches, dunes and forests are exquisite. The air is fresh and clean, and the temperatures are always moderate.
What makes this House unique
From the minute you begin your walk up the path to the front door, there is a peace about the Cottage. It is a resting place, a place to truly kick back and take it easy. From the easy chairs overlooking the bay on the top floor, you can watch ships and fishing boats and an occasional barge go by. Once in awhile a tall ship can be seen, such as the Lady Washington. Whether it's sitting on the rocks of the waterfall in the front yard and watching the neighborhood birds play in the water or relaxing in the jacuzzi tub upstairs, it is a true getaway, a destination.

Great little house
My husband and I and our 6 yr old Aussie had a great time at Annie's cottage. It is close to restaurants and shopping and, best of all, Shore Acres Park was only minutes away. We loved the recliners in the upstairs viewing area ~
After 12 seasons, we still get so much pleasure knowing our guests are enjoying a relaxing time at the Cottage after being out and about enjoying our delightful coast! Thank you so much, and thank you for genuinely treating our home like it was your own. You make it easy to extend hospitality to our guests :-)
Stop #1 in Oregon

Lovely and peaceful
This cottage was the perfect place to escape and unwind for the weekend.
We so appreciate your feedback!
Beautiful little cottage. We loved the quiet neighborhood. So many times we have stayed where it ha been noisy all night. Thanks Jack and Debbie
We’re very grateful for good neighbors to the Cottage. Being situated in a neighborhood does not guarantee that will always be the case, so it is always great to hear feedback that all is well as expected. We’ve been pretty blessed and it is our good pleasure to share the peace we experience there.
The cottage is exactly how it is described, a quiet getaway. The location is great for enjoying hikes along the coast.
