Chateau / Country House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7 in a pinch 8)
I have lived on this property for over 40 years and it is a nurturing and spiritual place for me--completely private and still. For people who value those two things it is ideal. We also have built a playhouse/cottage in the woods where children can play independently and creatively and there are all kinds of animals on the place. I try to keep up with the calendar--house full time--sorry. House is rented about half the time, used for family part time and we also donate for auctions to raise money for non-profits. The best way to inquire about availability is to email me--I am very prompt. Also for special holidays and for most summer months we hope to rent the house for the week. There might be some flexibility but keep that in mind in your inquiries.
email@example.com purchased this Farmhouse in 1970
Why firstname.lastname@example.org chose Bolinas
When we saw the property in the late '70's we did not hesitate--it was the ideal place to raise a family....as well as have tranquility and deep connection to nature as an important aspect of our daily lives. when my grand-kids come their first response is often, "there is nothing to do here." I agree with them! Then, within an hour or two they are gone--into the woods enjoying the magical opportunities for creative and independent play that this property offers.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Watching the lagoon for its varied wildlife, gardening, horseback riding, animal care, and sitting in the meadow enjoying a drink at the end of the day while watching the kids roam over the meadow. Often, roasting marshmellows around a fire-pit at night.

We had a wonderful stay with our family. Our 2 year old enjoyed exploring the property and feeding the animals. The house was large enough for us to comfortably spread out. Location is ideal for exploring the area. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful get together for a 3 generation family
Beautiful setting, great view from the large bay windows, exciting and safe place for little children, not too far from Stinson beach and great hikes for the bigger ones, friendly and caring owners. Well equipped kitchen so we cooked to our heart's content. We had a wonderful reunion. Thank you Linda and Stockton!
Linda and Jeff and their home with the vast meadows, lovely golden retrievers, geese, chickens ducks
and horses with the gorgeous lagoon view and the wonderful paintings in the home, were a "pinch me" paradise. Thank you! We hope to return.
Beautiful bolinas acreage
Thanks so much for sharing your home, animals and slice of paradise. We loved it and really enjoyed exploring the west Marin towns nearby too. The kids *loved* the secret tree house and we missed the horses terribly after leaving. Thanks again!
My family all enjoyed our stay at this relaxing and stunningly beautiful Bolinas property. I highly recommend it for families with children. The hosts are welcoming, kind, respectful and helpful. I love this place and look forward to returning.
Our stay at Linda and Stockton's home, was as the title says, truly magical. The property is beautiful, with a view of the lagoon and gentle sloping hills on the property that make you feel like you are truly removed from city life. The house is spacious and was able to accommodate our large family gathering (5 adults, 4 young children) comfortably. This was especially important to us since, with so many people and the littles, we did not want to feel cramped. Of course, the abundant outdoor space only added to the spaciousness. It has been some time since the house was updated, but it is clean, comfortable, bright, and well stocked. We wanted for nothing. The flower garden outside the back of the house is truly stunning. There are swings everywhere, dotting the property, apple trees, and mature oaks. This was the ideal home for our young children (two toddlers and two infants). The house is stocked for children (crib, boosters, toys, a piano!) but more than that it's an oasis of discovery. Our boys delighted in visiting the chickens (and reveled when Linda brought home what seemed like a dozen teenage chicks to add to the community) and feeding the horses apples and carrots every day. They splashed in a blowup pool we brought and set up by the flower garden and rode trikes (provided). They were enamored with Sweet Pea cottage in the woods, a place just their size full of treasures to delight them. My favorite part of the trip was a day, after splashing in the pool, our two toddlers were running around with only shoes on, delighting in the outdoors, and Linda offered to show us around and include us in feeding the horses. A week later and my 2 year old is still talking about mixing the food and feeding the "big brown horse". Linda and Stockton's generosity in sharing this special place is a gift. I couldn't have picked a better place for our family, it really is ideal for young children if you want the option to settle in and not have the pressure to leave - there is so much here for you to discover and enjoy! We will definitely be back!
