Why Barbara Jordan chose Loreto
This property is a rare 3/4 acre compound on the beach. Very private, safe and just far enough out of town (half mile) that the stars look close enough to touch...So safe.

A special place in a special town
This is a wonderful place to stay in Loreto. Barbara and Al have gone to great lengths to make a welcoming and comfortable haven. Communication was great, and they were flexible with our arrival and departure times which was much appreciated. Arriving into the beautiful courtyard, you know you won't want to leave! Al took us on a great tour of the town and pointed out good restaurants, stores etc which was really helpful. The apartment is spacious, clean and really well appointed. The bed was great, and hard to beat waking up to see the sun rise over the ocean out of your window. The Jordans arranged a boat for us to go to Coronado Island with pick up at their beach. Francisco was our captain and we would highly recommend him and this trip. He and all of the Loretan people we met, were so friendly, kind, generous and proud of their home. The town is spotlessly clean and we felt 100% safe.
Restaurants we really enjoyed were Los Mandiles on the Malecon, and both restaurants in La Mision hotel. Loreto is a really special place -just go there and see!
A big thank you to Al and Barb, our hosts, for sharing their comfortable casita and knowledge of the area with us. Barb sent us directions to their house, welcomed us, showed us our casita and grounds, both very well kept and clean (exactly as in the pictures and described). Al took us on a much appreciated tour of the town to point out the bank, restaurants and other services as well as sharing a Razor ride with us! They are also happy to recommend things to do and who to do it with. Their home and area is quite peaceful, scenic and relaxing.
They are located on the north edge of town and very convenient to shopping, restaurants, groceries, etc. As they point out, we highly recommend a rental car. That will allow you to explore. Don't be scared of driving around Loreto, it's very laid-back. There are a number of rental car companies available at the airport (save money by reserving ahead of time).
We will return to Loreto at some point and would not hesitate to rent from the Jordans again.
We had one of the most relaxing stays at this beautiful casita. Barbara and Al were such wonderful hosts. The check-in process was very easy as Barbara greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the lovely property. Al personally took us for a tour of the town and gave us recommendations of where to buy fresh seafood, shopping and best restaurants to eat. He even gave my 7-year old son (and us) a special ride in his Razor! Our son was thrilled. Over all, we don't have any complaint. We highly recommend this casita if you're looking for a place to stay in Loreto.
Thank you for the great review. You guys need to return during our warmer beach and water days. April - July.
Quiet and Comfortable
Great place! Not too far away from town, but quiet and secluded. Wish it was warmer so we could have used the pool more, next time!
Awe. It really is chilly this year. We hope you do come for the warmer weather and water sports.
Happy New Year
Beautiful casita, beautiful views, beautiful pool, and beautiful hosts!
We stayed five nights at this wonderful property. The road to the house is a little bumpy, but a little distance from town makes for peaceful and quiet days and nights. Never tried walking into town on beach, but only because we have bad knees -- it's definitely doable for the fit! Barbara and Al are great hosts and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They also have a wealth of information about local restaurants and amenities. Having stayed here, I would never stay anywhere else in Loreto! Definitely coming back.
Barbara and Al’s peaceful casita exceeded all expectations. What a wonderful slice of heaven. We are ever so appreciative for our time here! We came to rest our weary heads and to enjoy some peace and quiet, a bit of sun and the most amazing sunrises you’ve ever seen and that is exactly what we did💗
Beautiful views, the most comfy beds, safe environment and friendly, helpful locals as well as the best food to be found anywhere. Between La Picazón, Mezzaluna and the Los Olivos restaurant in La Mision hotel, to name a few, are dining needs and desires were equally surpassed
Truly a wonderful destination 😎
Barbara and Al tended to our every need yet we hardly knew they were even around ...
We look forward to returning
Thank you so much Barbara and Al!
On Google map scroll from the Marina 1/2 mile North on the beach and we are the 2nd to last finished home on the beach.
